    Great video! Just helped me impress a doctor with this explanation. He was really thankful as he learned something since he does not know how to operate a V60 BiPAP.

    Very Impressive Review!! Many people need to review this!! For those who may be Novice, perhaps S/T Mode (Spontaneous-Time) could be touched-on? Just a thought.

    how is this any different from Auto-BiPAP ? essentially Philips Dreamstation Auto Bi-Pap and Dreamstation Bi-Pap AVAPS ?

    • @PhilipsHC
      @PhilipsHC  3 роки тому +1

      Hello, if you are asking how the Dreamstation Auto- Bipap is different from the Dreamstation AVAPS, the AVAPS device is considered a noninvasive ventilator that treats obstructive sleep apnea with respiratory insufficiency. The Auto-Bipap is used to treat obstrutive sleep apnea with positive pressure. The Auto-Bipap is not a noninvasive ventilator, if you have any further questions I would direct you to your physician. Regards

    We are currently in search of a ventilator machine for an ALS patient. He is currently being treated with Philips Bibap pro-bi Flex at the hospital. We will need to continue this treatment at home but we are not sure which of Philiphs ventilating product will be the best choice for our ALS patient. Would you possibly advise which one would be the best to choose among Bibap pro bı Flex, Dreamstation ST and Dreamstation AVAPS? Please consider that ALS patients breathing power may get worse each passing day.

    How loud is the AVAPS?

    • @PhilipsHC
      @PhilipsHC  6 місяців тому

      Thanks for your comment, that's a great question!
      Regarding the v60 device depicted in this video, the audio alarm loudness has an average sound pressure level of approx. 76 db(A) on the highest volume setting and approx. 62 db(A) on the lowest volume setting.
      The operation acoustics average sound power level is approx. 54 db(A) measured at the ventilator and approx. 46 db(A) measured 1 meter from the ventilator.
      We hope this information is helpful to you. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    So... AVAPS is just like "Volume Support" on any other machine? Lame. Respironics/Philips needs to stop making fancy names for similar/same modes. Just like "BiPAP" is essentially CPAP/PSV on any other machine (e.g. IPAP-EPAP=PSV and EPAP=CPAP). It's all marketing, I suppose, to sell a product.

    • @govlogs735
      @govlogs735 3 роки тому

      Hahaha its also lame to use the same name as what other brands have, it's really heenfor marketing purposes to give their own modes a name. You must be a newbie in the world of mechanical ventilation.

      PRVC on a Servo.
      CMV turned on, on a Drager.
      Yes. It is all about the algorithm they use to titrate the pressure to achieve the volume. Drager is best imo. Servo PRVC is fine unless the patient is bucking/neuro/seizures. AVAPS is way to slow to ramp pressure.
