Spandau Ballet what is there to say? Very tight group that changed how we felt after listening to this incredible group. When you get lost in their music there is no better compliment than that. Their music will live on forever!
In the 80's i was really into punk, goth and heavy metal and totally dismissed 'new wave' bands and singers as irrelevant and not worthy . What a dick i was. It's only as I've got older (and wiser) that when i now listen to these musicians and singers i get what i was missing. Tony Hadley does indeed have the most amazing voice. Truly wonderful in fact. Please take me back.

The 80's were the most rocking time EVER. I feel sorry for the ones growing up on the insipid, souless crap that they call music today. We were lucky to be young when music videos exploded onto the scene featuring true talents. Today it's whiny, hip hop, rap or just mediocrity at best.
I think Gold and true, if im not mistaken they were certified no. 1 in the top 40's. Dont get me wrong, I like this song very much because of the Jazzy beat and the saxophone adlib. What i love with music is incorporating sax instruments on it. Billy Joel's "Just the way you are" is one example of song that i really love because of the sexy sax sound. Norman was an outstanding Sax player.
This is how men used to look. This is how men used to dress. This was what music used to sound like, listen to the vocal harmonies. Videos were way more interesting than any movie we have out today. I am so grateful that i grew up with these beautifully talented people

Spent my childhood in the 80s and it was just awesome. We were happy, all was positive, everyone believed they would all grow up to be rich and hard-working and living life as it should be. Atleast the well-to-do ones 😂 And these great ads! Blond beautiful middle-aged ladies telling us washing powder was getting clothes ever so whiter....and the movies, I am still searching for the Jewel of the Nile ❤

Not a Spandau fan at all but i love this track. The saxophone is so haunting. I was a teen when this group were in there heyday and not cool to like. i now realize that there was a class and style in the 80s that is totally absent now.
I remember cruising with friends in the car and this came on the radio. We all knew the chorus and started singing out loud, bad voices too lol. Reminiscing the good old days in the 80’s. Best years of my life where legends debut and great artist were still around.

As a teen, I was so intrigued by this video. The song, the video story telling, all fits so perfectly together. Nowadays, it is hard to find such creative, emotional storytelling videos. Spandau Ballet is an iconic band of the 80's who have also shaped a generation with their style of music, just like Ultravox, OMD, U2, Simple Minds, Queen etc. Everytime I am in Berlin, I just need to listen to this band which have their name from a Berlin Borough.
..and for people saying they were "underrated" or not marketed enough. They were absolutely MASSIVE all over Europe in the 80's. I think they were big even in the Eastern bloc countries.

Only those of us who lived in the 80's as teenagers can truly appreciate what a magical and special decade it was in so many ways that will probably never be equalled. People dressed well, had pride in the way they looked and just knew how to enjoy the moment. Very different from today.
Spandau and other artists at the time brought great dressing back in style so that men particularly, were interested in being well dressed again. Interestingly, when you find out which artists of past eras they admired, the Rat Pack is frequently mentioned - the ultimate in style and cool. It also helps when you are this good looking!

I loved this particular song of theirs as there is so much emotion and passion in their arrangement and the lyrics are poetry! ~Those of us who grew up in the 80's and 90's were blessed with the myriad of bands and genres that sprang up as we were growing up! I recently discovered this song and already is one of my favorite . Very smooth. I was a little girl when this band was a hit. I didn't notice that they are very handsome and manly. All of them. Their fashion were cool and elegant. 80's wasn't classy at all 😅 but they had a great taste in outfits.
If I think of all those moments where this song was my soundtrack, I still feel my heart sighing like that of a boy who fell in love for the first time.

I loved this particular song of theirs as there is so much emotion and passion in their arrangement and the lyrics are poetry! ~Those of us who grew up in the 80's and 90's were blessed with the myriad of bands and genres that sprang up as we were growing up! It was all new and such an amazing variety of artists that we were spoilt for choice!

PARADE, one of my favourite albums ever. I was 12 years old when I bought it. An important soundtrack in my lifetime.
My late Dads favourite Spandau song, and now mine, a beautiful song and a lovely ending as the song floats off into eternity
Sorry for your loss, I too lost my dad and mum in the last 5 years and when I hear a piece of music that they loved, it's like they are standing right next to me! I was so lucky as they were like my best friends and we were always laughing and joking ! God bless you and yours!

I recently discovered this song and already is one of my favorite . Very smooth. I was a little girl when this band was a hit. I didn't notice that they are very handsome and manly. All of them. Their fashion were cool and elegant. 80's wasn't classy at all 😅 but they had a great taste in outfits.
