You have more patience with outdated electronics than I do. I have an old PC under the desk, collecting dust. But at least it is still indoors.

I have 6 PCs raging from a Pentium 3 an early P4,core 2 duo and a core 2 quad,so i'm quite comfortable with messing with old rigs,it makes a good editing machine so it's not all junk for the sake of its self...

@@Jadensad good for you. 👍 You have more patience (and electronics experience) than I do. I have an AMD laptop under the bed. (Early Win 10)
I have a desktop (Vista era) with a major component blown out. (MoBo?) I had upgraded the CPU, RAM, drives and power supply.
And two working Acer laptops, one is Win 10, and the newer one is Win 11. They are both tricked out. (Nothing left to upgrade. Hmmm)

Haven't finished watching yet but have been yelling "h61 chipset" at the screen every time you've wondered about the CPU.
Also, a USB drive with a live linux distribution is great for when a PC says it cannot find an OS. Just boot off the USB & you can see what hardware you have, if the connected HDDs are recognised (& whether there's anything on them), if there are any SSDs you didn't see, etc.
Now gonna watch the last 15 mins.
Edit: Just got to 25 mins where you're about to grab a linux disc. I'll keep my mouth shut in future :)

I was extremely hot worn out and i hurt my arm lifting this gigantic heavy PC back,if i had just been given it i'd be thinking straight,it might be broken,or a Pentium D,i didn't have a USB with a Linux thing on it so an old burned Linux CD was all i had, thanks for watching!

@@Jadensad sorry, I wasn't criticising. A linux live cd is as good as a usb (as long as you have an optical drive). IKWYM about carrying it, too - recently had to carry an ivy bridge i7 system with the hugest heatsink home, damn near killed me.

I would have passed it up if it was a core 2 duo,Ivy bridge machines are still useful,at least to me doing 1080p editing,as i don't play modern games or have any cameras that can do 4k video...
