- New Balance's newest lifestyle model has arrived - the WRPD Runner. This colourway is the "Sea Salt" pair, crafted out of a white knitted upper with shaggy grey suede layers, and cream coloured hits throughout. Did not expect hear that these have a firm feel on feet! Thought they would've been very soft and squishy due to the FuelCell!
Honestly as a 99X wearer, these feel very bouncy. I’d compare it more to Ultraboost
I'm thankful to have managed a pair of NB x Stone Island collabs, even softer than the SC Trainers, I'd almost put off for these till I heard they weren't super soft and squishy like they appear, all I care about is comfort, style comes second, just an amazing bonus that the NBxSI C1s look 🔥🥰
very VERY disappointing to find out that these are super firm. extremely deceptive looking. as a 187 year old man i need to stylish AND comfortable in my old folks home! but seriously…
I’m digging the futuristic look that I think is communicating minimalism and organics. Looking forward to future cws
Just picked up an all black/dark grey colorway and love them.
I almost purchased, but was on the fence due to it being such a new silhouette and what it may offer. Sean, you definitely made me feel much better with passing on them.
I put the Move All Day insoles in these and man... comfort is absolutely insane. So glad I copped a pair
I love this model. The shape of the Yeezy V3 model. I think the shoe will look great with some tailored jeans or chinos. Cant wait to get my pair next week. Keep an open mind about sneakers always.
Waiting for my pair to arrive, so glad I copped 1/2 down. For me comfort wise I didn’t expect them to be soft just by looking at them, and I didn’t know they have FuelCell until recently 😅
How they fit?
Thanks for the review! I just got my first pair and they're amazing on feet for me. Comfortable, soft and helps with my heel/achilles issue. I agree that true to size is prob best for most.
i managed to get a pair my size and i genuinely love them bc of the whole chunky organic look one of my fav cops this year! I should have doubled up so i can have a back up pair if these get jacked up from usage lol. They definately need an insanely nice colab to pick this siluette off the ground.
Sean always on time. I like that New Balance is trying out new designs but I don't think this is for me. Still a clean shoe imo.
These are fire: I was lucky to get one in my size before it sold out. They are actually very comfy - wore them for a few hours walking - while not as squishy as some runners, but they also introduce some stability (nice bonus). These will be my go to lifestyle sneaker for sure.
I swear I thought the same thing when I first saw pictures of these kicks. I thought to myself, when did Ye became the head designer of new balance?!🤔😂 They look like something Ye would’ve design if he were at NB. Almost reminds me of the Yeezy 700 V1 (Waver Runner) Especially the front toe box. Also, the material with the suede, mesh and chunky mid sole.
Got myself a pair today. Super comfortable.
I like them. The only thing I don't like is how the N is layed on the side panel. They could have made the N from Suede or Denim with cream ,brown or orange stichting. ❤
I wasn't really feeling them in press photos but I do think they look better on feet. I'll wait for more colorways!

That's strange. I've been walking in them all day, frankly they've been nothing but pillowy and bouncy 🤔 But followed your sizing tip and they fit great!

Just got these and the forefoot is super squishy and bouncy while the heel is quite firm. Almost feels like 2 different shoes in 1. It’s so noticeable I’m surprised no reviewer has mentioned this so far. Did you have the same experience w these?

Bro they look so cool. They are prob one of the few chunky sneakers I like. So futuristic but kinda retro. Whoever's designing these new shoes on the New Balance team really doing a great job.
The only thing I'm kinda iffy about is the outsole, idk if that pattern is grippy enough for me, I got bad experiences with wavy pattern designs, like slipping on downhills.

They look better on feet. It’s a pass for me because with the design and shape of this new model I’m not sure if I can pull it off. Dope pictures as always bro.

i think these look super cool, but this is not the type of thing i would ever wear. i'm excited to see how people work these into their fits, though. think it will be really cool.
I’m still really on the fence about these they look like a runner but too bulky for shorts and with pants I just don’t know how I feel about them I am waiting to see the all cream colorway tho

So maybe it feels more like a 5740? Looks super cushioned but actually stiff and firm.
Bouncier than a 5740 but yeah looks softer than it feels for sure
I copped, sold out of my size on NB so i copped from capsule toronto , i thought they were fire off the rip. The blue color way not my fav but this sea salt and the cream/beige auralee ones to me are fuego 🔥🔥

Me too! Seems like the stone island C1s would be more comfortable because of more fuel cell and that carbon plate for more energy return while walking/running but they do have a very strong running shoe look while these look more casual to me, but can't decide ha

I've been looking at this shoe since the early photos and I still can't get onboard the midsole shape. It's weird when the heel tapers in. How stable is it on feet? Sad to hear about the lack of softness, it looks like it'd be a max cushion type shoe. I really love the comfort of my 990v6.

Not at all, more firm / bouncy and not soft squishy at all. Also it feels more unstable than a 990 V3-5

I don’t particularly like the colorways we have seen so far so I’m going to wait for future colorways before making a decision.
I believe that they would look better if they had i slimmer midsole.
Thick, chunky midsoles are on trend now.
I don't like the look of New Balances usual dad shoe look, but these are something different and like it.

Remember the Adidas Prophere's? This is New Balance version of it. If you've been rocking NB for years now, this ain't it. All that stack with Fuel Cell and still stiff? LOL
Looks like NB's been making their own versions of designer shoe silhouettes. Before , the designer brands were just copying classic shoe brand silhouttes and jiust slapping on their logo. These days, it's the reverse. Smart move I guess. They still have their classic line for the purists. And they get to have fun for the young ones.

The top hairy suede is nice but the sole is too thick more like woman shoes , definitely easy pass for me
