i think your relationship is a very fortunate-for-you outlier, and while i can’t ignore the diversity that exists in the male population , i think that a situation in which a man in the relationship is the one with most desire for progress , and i think generally , a man who isn’t working is a man who is struggling mentally due to a struggle to find meaning , purpose or even just validation. as a whole i think men are far more happy , healthy , valuable in society as humans , when they are the ones spearheading material and spiritual progress in the family whereas women have an equally important but vastly different role which is to provide the necessary emotional stability and familial cohesion to support the man’s pursuit. just an opinion 😊
There should be shame to calling it quits when you could have resolved matters and didn't make the effort. Divorce should be a last resort, and that should be implicit in the commitment of marriage.

I would define patriarchy as any situation in which women and women-centered narratives are not allowed to dominate.
