I love that Nintendo just let you do this, I feel like in most Nintendo games they wouldn't allow such cheesy strategies to work. I remember being little watching my dad play this game and I told him to use his mega mushroom, but he said "Not yet, I'm saving it so I can stomp Bowser at the end!"
Nah for real. Made life so much easier in some of these boss fights like the piranha plant (it would take me multiple tries to beat it without the mega mushroom 😂)

That one kicked my ass when I was little, cause I’d be doing it as mini Mario to unlock world 7, which was really scary
