@ I did rate both of them 4 stars and my reviews say that I enjoyed the story and twists it took. Some unnecessary repetition but nothing too horrible.
Misogyny and stereotypes are big contenders for ruining books, I do try to take time periods in mind but sometimes it’s just too bad. My current read is much better :)!

It's such a shame that the book had a combo of both misogyny and stereotypes 😢 hope you find better reads the future
