Great breakdown on the app and the tools it has! I especially appreciate your comments about the importance of remaining impartial and the anglers remaining anonymous. I cringe every time I hear someone say "he comes from a good FAMILY- therefore he isn't a cheater!", or other words to that effect. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard- ever look at a politician's kids and their morality? LOL! One issue I have is WRT looking for "differences" vs "identical markers" as well as paying any attention whatsoever to the fins and the fin shape of the fish. A fin is a fan- therefore it is made to change shape! That seems to be a very hazardous landmark to examine due to the ease at which they can be modified. What is the difference between "difference" vs "lack of identical" when it comes to a particular landmark? Differences can be generated (especially macro differences we've seen in the past with some folks DQed). Trying to MASK unique identifying attributes like a scar or colored pattern of scales? Not nearly as possible. I think a combination of the two is useful. I think the biometrics used in fingerprint analysis can be used for individual fish scale color patterns at common locations of the fish that are clear in both pictures.
Good breakdown of your process. I think that’s what needs to be done by all events that way everyone is aware and on the same page. I believe integrity is critical for the judging process to insure that every judgment of a fish is as accurate as possible.
