Not that I'm trying to bash this production. But I never thought of this scene as an entirely fun. There are funny parts yes, but when my school took on this whole play it was more, how do I put this. More serious sorta of speak. It felt more about the two characters together and apart, than the situation they are both in and what is fun about it. More about his love for her, than the comedy. Just my thoughts. But these two did a good job.
Brendan ToatsWorth Totally agree! I played Glory this past November, and my scene was definitely much more serious than this. I do love the spin that they did on it, but I do feel that a lot of the parts of this scene that were meant to be funny were some of the most serious parts of mine
The interpretation is different. Just because you played it in a certain way doesn’t mean someone else interprets and plays it the same way. Plus the audience is just alive and you cant blame them for having energy.
I just played East in my school’s drama showcase, it’s very interesting to see how other productions can be so different even if they’re the same scene. Nonetheless, this was an amazing production.
I'm playing East for our school's play and it's the first time I've played a guy so this video really helped me. Still, the directors and teachers are thinking of making my character female (just as I am) because they want the play to be more "queer". Honestly, both ways are fine to me, ANYWAY... I'm getting off track here. As I said before, thanks so much for posting this video! It's gonna help me a lot when we have our play. ^u^
just watched this play performed by my college, i am an international student. Why are Americans okay with kissing? Especially at the mouth? Isn’t that too intimate?
This version is the best I've found so far and it really helped me with the auditions. I'll be playing Glory soon, so big thank you to the actors!
This is the best version I've found! Great job guys! I'm playing East in this for my theatre arts class :)
I'm glory at my school and this helped a ton I love it

Braveheart in a Cowardly world Don't know if you're still wondering but Americans aren't just okay with kissing strangers. This is a show
Braveheart in a Cowardly world also the scene is meant to be uncomfortable
