Lovely!
Thank you!
Two videos with the same guitar. Seems like you're in love this guitar. 😀 1965-1967: the golden era of Masaru Kohno guitars.
Indeed. This one is my keeper, its very easy to play and has a pleasing "old" sound. And you are totally right about the "golden era". However, for me personally I liked 1964-65 the best, of the Kohno's I have tried over the years. My first Kohno was actually a No.5 from 1965, very much like this one. Kind regards from Sweden.
Très joli jeu et très bel arrangement ! Bravo 👍
Thank you! Kind regards from Sweden.
I really love the way you play and the raw, warm sound😍 Could I ask you how you recorded it and what microphone you used? The video conveys the reality of the strings vibrating and the sound of the air (room) in a perfect balance!
Thank you kindly Toshi. For this recording I used only only microphone, a Weissklang V17 (it's a pretty standard condenser mic really, nothing fancy) at a distance of about 70-80 cm. The strings are Daddario EJ45 with carbon G string (Knobloch CX). I did use a low-cut (eq) at around 40-50 Hz, added a little air/clarity, not much, and a subtle touch of reverb to blend with the original sound. Tried to keep it as organic as possible. Kind regards from Sweden.
@@JonRinneby Hi Jon, thank you for your reply and generously sharing how you recorded it🙏 Yes it sounds very organic and so much healing. I appreciate your beautiful play!
@@toshisakamoto2509 With love from Sweden!
Lovely recordings and playing, as always. I just bought a 1965 no. 3. What strings do you like on your Kono?
Thank you kindly! On this recording I use La Bella 2001 medium tension and Knobloch CX G medium tension.
@@JonRinneby, thank you for getting back to me.
@@FiddleSticks800 Good luck with your new guitar!
