In this C4D tutorial we'll go over how to create a stitching or knitting on effect for a transition. We'll go over vertex maps, Octane Vertex Maps and Octane Scatter plus more. It's a pretty simple technique, but once you understand the process of revealing an object with vertex maps you can use this for growing on virus or fungus or damage etc. You can create any type of transition with these 3D techniques. Good luck!

Awesome tutorial. I was able to follow along and use Redshift with similar results. Just drop that vertex map into a plain effector to drive the visibility of your RS Matrix. Thanks!

Awesome, glad to hear it was easy with Redshift. Nice job man!

octane is still 20 $ every month while unreal is providing amazing render quality for free .
i no think anyone will be using octane very soon .
unless they lower the price into something like 5$ they will drop in subscriber number so hard .

I think $20 is pretty reasonable personally, I love Octane!

@@thepixellab2011 , if you get big projects that produce good income for you every time, then for sure,
but for freelancers that have to pay for cinema 4d subscription + adobe + plugins , adding 20 $ to the cost is waaay to much just for render, its not suitable for freelancers .
and who does not like to reduce paying money , unreal engine is the best thing happen to us so far this years .

and one professional asset pack for Unreal cost more than Octane for year. Even simple scatter plugin for Unreal cost $70.

There is a lot that can't be done in UR5. Realtime is getting really interesting but USD in Houdini / Karma along with C4D using an Alembic workflow / Rendering using Redshift/ Octane / Arnold ( depending on the job ) can do things that UR5 on its own can't do, especially for VFX and broadcast work. These are just tools of course and every job has its requirements but saying URE can replace offline render tools / render delegates like Redshift ad Octane isn't realistic with the state of the industry as of 2024.

Unreal engine is a far cry from octane's rendering quality 😉
