The other day I got some UNBELIEVABLE footage of my tortoise laying eggs. We also went around and fed ALL the tortoises and put the GoPro on Ike for the day!

For some of you wondering why there isn't much grass, Ike actually broke the sprinkler system so we are currently fixing it lol... He does have a alfalfa-haybale that he eats on and it is in my garage so the sun doesn't beat on it and turn it brown. Thank you all for the support recently wow... 💚

How often do you feed your turtle?
I feed him about 2 times a week, I'll give him snacks like this occasionally tho, he also has a alfalfa hay-bale that he grazes on every day too since he actually broke my sprinkler for the grass lol

Perhaps a treat bone made of hide or something from the store.
Regular, real bones can splinter and can puncture the stomach, throat, intestines, or other internal part of both dogs and cats. Chicken bones are the absolute worst due to how common and tiny they are.
If I were you, I would just get a chew bone from walmart or the dollar general. They are usually off-white in colour with a red thing. Our dog loved to chew them and they lasted a while, a day or so for big dogs, about a week for a medium, and any number of days or weeks with a little one.
That should occupy its mouth, plus the dog would appreciate you for it.
Oh, and the Karen wasn't very intelligent if she felt the bones were "poisoning" it unless they had some kind of rotten meat on them or seafood. Even then, it wouldn't be the bones but the meat. Either way though, bones can pose a threat if they are real. Like I said before they splinter.
Bone marrow is good for them. But that's foul to get out, time consuming, and kind of nasty when you spend 3 dollars and get much more and a healthier treat.
But remember, always ask the owner if that's okay. Some dogs have allergies or diets and certain things can seriously harm them or make them sick.

Just popping in you should never give anything to someone’s pet unless you know them/got the okay. Not all dogs have the same dietary/digestive capabilities as others and not all humans have the best intentions. I know of a dog whose neighbor secretly fed him treats and the dog ended up dying because he got sick from the contents. Another where the dog couldn’t digest hard food and ended up vomiting all the time until they figured it out and changed his diet. We also had a case in my neighborhood where a guy left out poisoned food and sprayed poison along a walkway because he hated dogs. Personally my dog can’t stomach milk bones and on a walk some guy gave her a treat without asking. She ended up vomiting and wouldn’t eat for two days.
So yeah, don’t feed strangers pets. It’s not worth the five seconds of thinking you’ve made the dog happy when the owner has to stay up with them/rush them to the vet because they got sick. And I wouldn’t call this woman a Karen. She’s just a dog mom who loves her dog and knows what it can and can’t have. It’s most likely she’s experienced first hand what happened when her dog ate a bone. Or the fact a stranger is giving her dog something and she doesn’t know what ingredients are in it. In the end, at least she’s someone who actually cares about her dog and I think that’s what should be taken away from it 😊

You are located close to a military installation or an aerospace company like Boeing. Them are fighter jets aren't they? They move to fast to be regular commercial jets or small aircraft. My dad was an aerospace engineer and his last jet they developed when he was working was the stealth. His favorite was the F-15.

My cousin had a small box turtle that lived with him for 30 odd years before he passed. He would just roam the house. He was somebody else’s turtle before my cuz got him. He was roughly 55 years old we think when he died.

this noise from the nozzle jets is terrible. this reminds me of my childhood in east germany, where there was a russian airfield 10 km away. every thursday the pilots had their overflights.

I would recommend the main thing is to definitely be patient with the growth, try to not overfeed it or else it could start to pyramid on the shell or known as "Metabolic Bone Disease", a slow growing tortoise is always a happy tortoise. Also with whatever species you decide on, definitely do some research on that species before getting some because these "Sulcatas" get very big very fast and is the 3rd largest tortoise in the world. There are some smaller tortoises like Hermanns tortoise, Russian tortoise, Red foot and Yellow Foot tortoises are pretty good ones too.

Well it can be very cheap if you have just one tortoise, they mainly eat grass/weeds as 70% of their diet, and the other thing could be you feeding them once a week just a head of lettuce and a cucumber or something. But with all the tortoises that I have, I spend about 60$ in food for all of them a week
