Fun Fact: She actually designed her outfits and that of her group.
That so true I was going to say that in comments
Another fun fact: she didn't want to sing como la flor in that concert. She said she was tired of singing it but her brother AB convinced her to sing it, by telling her "you not singing como la flor is like Michael Jackson not singing Billie jean"
Nery Salas thank god she did sing it
@@Via380 I didn’t know that. Don’t assume
I thought that it was only in the Series
This concert was her last concert before she got killed.
Actually her last concert was in Bryant, Texas
This was just her last televised concert. She had several concerts and appearances between this one and her death.
Fun fact!! Lmafo !!!
Last LIVE CONCERT..but last concert nope.
Yup 3 weeks later
i know this had nothing to do with race, but as a 13 year old black girl who looks up to Selena so much, my whole playlist is Selena😭😭, it’s amazing to see other blacks loving and adoring her, not only her music, but her as a person.
same, and honestly alot of black ppl back then LOVED Selena back then and now that's just the type of effect she had every race with Spanish and English. I'm also from Texas so I was bound to know about her
It's wonderful that you found Selena, and that she's impacted you in such a profound way. Thank you so much for enjoying her.
I was 11 when she was murdered, and I'm from the same area of Texas she was from. The news hit us so hard back then. Netflix has done a wonderful job with keeping her legacy alive and making sure that the younger generations can enjoy not only what she offered to the world, but to feel the impact of what she COULD have become, had this senseless act never occurred. It's so heartbreaking.
Have you seen the 1997 movie with J.Lo? I was actually 13 when it came out! Her family worked extremely closely with the director and producers, and picked the actors personally (her father loved J.Lo's audition). It must've been so painful for them to be thrust in the spotlight so quickly after her death, but so many people started trying to make movies, that they had no choice but to jump on it. Some of her actual band members were in the movie playing themselves. Her husband Chris Perez had a small cameo playing guitar during the audition scene. Anyway! I'm rambling! Thank you for being here and for being so influenced by Selena.
I was 8 when I met her in my hometown of Poteet, TX (just south of San Antonio) in 1992. She signed my autograph and talked to me and mom for a bit. My mom told her, “Selena, Danny was supposed to go see his abuelita (grandmother) this weekend, but he threw a fit and here we are....” 😂 they both laughed and I got a little embarrassed. I’m glad I was a brat that night and got my way. When she passed, I was so sad thinking about how the world lost such an amazing person and I was afraid she was gonna be forgotten. It’s the total opposite. Her fan base grows the more people learn about her. She’s still breaking records today and it has been 25 years since her passing. I feel proud to watch people all over the world react and end up loving her. She made our Mexican American community very proud.
LUCKYYY!!!
Your so lucky but is she was still alive she would be my mother's age today and I mean it literally
Oh, man, you are muy afortunado...!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so proud of her even I was a little child when the tregedy ocurred. Now, I'm so happy she feelt proud of her mexican side.
Beautiful story
Lucky man
Selena is from Corpus Christi, Texas and she’s Mexican-American. She’s considered the queen of Tejano, a genre originated in Texas that mixes cumbia and Mexican regional music.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE react to Dreaming of You by Selena!
Depends upon your definition of being from somewhere. Selena was born and raised in Lake Jackson Texas until she was almost 12 and that's when her family moved to Corpus Christi. I would say that she was from Lake Jackson and that is actually where she started singing publicly.
@@t0paggie well by your definition I'm an American but I was born in Sinaloa, Mexico lol I was raised between L.A & Indio, CA and Phoenix, AZ mostly the latter for 21yrs(about 16 of which were in Phx). So, does this mean I can say I'm from Phoenix from now on?🤔😅🇺🇲
Don't forget to watch the movie and react to "La Carcacha!" :)
North American.... Mexico,U.S.A. and Canada,so we are northamerican.
@@albertomolina9471 darn right we are North American !!!! Puro Mexican American right here
I’m Hispanic and I LOVE seeing other races enjoy her beautiful music
RIght? Same here Latino and love seeing people discover her. She was one of a kind, there will never be another Selena, her humbleness, her charisma, and her stunning beauty, she had it all. She loved her fans and her fans still love her and mourn her tragic loss. Every single time I see her videos and always wonder how high her star could have gone.
Me too! I'm from the same area of Texas where she was born and raised, and it's surreal and wonderful to see reactions from all over the world, from different generations.
Selena is an icon to us Latinos. The respect for her is real. Thanks for reacting to her. Her loss still hurts us to this day.
I wonder if you could react to Lali and to RBD. I’ll give you some context... RBD was the biggest Latin band of the 2000s. In only 4 years they sold over 60 million albums. If you ever do react to them, do the Live in Rio concert.
Lali is the pop queen from Argentina. Her career started in 2002 (she was 10) acting but now she’s a pop sensation. She’s been on massive festivals like Lollapalooza and also many award shows.
RBD yes!!!❤️
Yes she was a living legend she gave us Mexican Americans / Hispanics a face , a voice and so much more RIP SELENAS!!!♥️
I’m black and she is a legend to me. I put her up there with the top singers. She accomplished much in a short amount of time.

Selena was from Texas but has Méxican roots ❤️ her first language was English but her dad made her learn Spanish n sing Spanish but later she did a crossover album in English 🥰❤️
Sadly we didn’t get to hear her sing those songs live

i can't listen to Selena without crying an absolute tragedy i mean she was only 23 i think that 2 months after this concert she was killed.. her music will never die, please react to disco medley o la carcacha from her
So sad 😩
Before Beyoncé, J.Lo , Shakira and many other Divas...there was Selena. All hail the Queen and R.I.P forever
i think yall would love her live disco medley
Yes! Please react to the disco medley!

She KILLED the Donna Summer song!!!!❤❤❤
Yes please react 🖤
This concert was in 1995 she broke the attendance record that night. The stage was in the center of the arena and the stage rotated slowly the whole time during the whole set. She sang live the whole time.
Do you know that selena fought so hard to keep don shelton the black guy in the background singing because at that time a lot of people were being racist and selena fought for him to stay
Yeah And See This History For Us Blacks!! And Mexican's, because I think Selena is the first Tejano singer🎶🎤🎶And probably the only, to have a Black person to sing and to have them do backup dancing. That's HISTORY Right There.💪🖤💜
@@nunulove8702 There was another Tejano band back in the 90s- Culturas- that had a black singer. Dee Burleson. They were pretty popular- or maybe just in the South Texas region where I grew up. But definitely something you didn't see much at all in the Tejano music scene.
@Nunu Love If you are interested look up a gentleman by the name of Bobby Butler aka El Charro Negro. He recorded with a band called Tortilla Factory back in the 1960’s and is a pioneer and legend in tejano music. He paved the way for men like Dee Burleson, Don Shelton, and current tejano artist Marcus Daniels. There was also a young lady by the name of Ruth who also made a tejano album in the mid to late 90’s. Her hit was called “El Toquecito.”
That sounds like a lot of BS.
@@pablovandres shut up 🤣
This is her last concert. She died a few months later. This outfit is iconic. Fashion was her passion and she was known for being a fashionista. She designed all her outfits and she had a boutique in Corpus Cristi, Texas. Selena was was from Texas of Mexican descent. She was the Queen of Tejano (Tex-Mex) music. She was bilingual; she spoke English and Spanish. She sang Cumbia, Tejano, Latin Pop, Norteño, and Ranchera. She sang in Spanish and English. React to Amame, Donde quiera que Estes, La llamada, No me queda mas, Fotos y recuerdos, Missing my baby, Ya vez, Enamorada de ti, and Buenis amigos. She won a Grammy award for best TEJANO ALBUM. She has won many awards and was the spokes woman for Pepsi.

Disco medley
They did and they loved it
Yes its called the disco medley by selena
She was an icon and beloved by the Mexicans and Latino Americans for her music and representation.
She was born as a US citizen, and she could have taken the easy way into the music market by conforming to the English industry.
But she stood by her roots.
Her artistry and dedication won over many, and when she was killed it was like Princess Diana had passed away, especially to the Mexican-Americans.
She’s like Shakira in the sense that they were Latina singers in a very male-controlled and crowded industry in the 1990s, and yet they found their voices and niches and conquered their respective audiences-one taking the more Latin approach (Selena) and the other going rock, poetry and pop and anything in between (Shakira).
Shakira is not the same since those days, as some of her traditional fans might fondly remember. And who knows how things would have been, if Selena was here today.
Selena was about to release her first full English crossover Album but unfortunately she never got to finish it. And she was about to go on her first International tour and tour in counties in Europe and all over Latin America but never got to💔🥺. Would've she been alive today she would've been as big as Shakira and would've been a successful crossover artist just like her
She gives me goosebumps! She was a natural born singer. She had the duality of being Mexican and American
I'm a "Chicano" (Mexican-American) & like Selena..born in Texas. I was 43 when she was taken from us. I'm 71 now & have been crying all night listening to her lovely voice. I'm better now with your reaction.! Thanks.! She was a sweet, angelic soul who brought happiness to everyone.!! PEACE....
She had the entire audience in the palm of her hand in this performance. I loved watching you two react to her music. She was one of a kind and is greatly missed by my generation. Forever in our hearts 💕 Selena Quintanilla -Pérez.
The sad lyrics with the joyful music is a roller coaster of emotions, lump in my throat 😭

Houston astrodome !! Huge concert!! And she def has soul in her, she loved donna summers, micheal jackson, Paula abdul !
I LOVE Paula Abdul to this day and wish she would return to the singing scene! I love her dancing but miss hearing her sing on tv.
And Janet jackson❣️
This was an epic performance by Selena. I’m glad you guys enjoyed it! ✨
Not watched it yet but I know I’m gonna cry🥰😭❤️
I saw this interview where the sister said Selena was worried about not enough people showing up, until they told her it was sold out. Then the brother said she was mad at him at that once because he told her she looked short and chubby in that outfit lol. If she looked chubby, I wanna look chubby.
I’m 29 and I still cry for Selena. Cause she was beautiful and special. Her voice thoooo
JLO is famous because Selena, she makes her movie, the firts movie of JLO

Selena was born in Lake Jackson, Texas but raised in Corpus Christi, Texas later in her later. Her dad worked in the refinery in the 1980's and was laid off.
She's an American with Mexican lineage. She didn't even speak Spanish until she became famous and decided she also wanted to do Spanish music.
She’s not Mexican, she’s Tejana. Born and raised in Texas. There’s a difference.
this video kept being recommended to me & I’m so glad I finally watched it!! it makes me so happy to see people from other cultures appreciate ours ❤️ I was smiling throughout the entire video. now let me go watch your others!
I love you too! This brings so much joy that you enjoy Selena and her talent! As a Mexican American born and raised in Texas, it is an honor to have had her in my life and representation of Tejano Music and People.
Respect and love to the one and only queen Selena
Selena was so unique. Her charisma, talent, beauty, and humility made her such an icon. She was loved, she is still loved and she will be loved. I am so excited that you guys are reacting to her. Every time I listen to her it makes me happy. Unfortunately this was her last performance.Thank you so much guys.
I listened to her as a kid. I've seen this video like a million times. Your reactions put a smile on my face.
The guy playing guitar in the back with long hair was her housband and the rest of the band her brothers
Thank You for this ❣️😇🎵🎼🎶🎤🌹SELENA🌹
Thank you for this Selena reaction. She is still so loved and painfully missed. The only thing I love more than listening to her music, is getting to see new people discover Selena and watching the joy that it brings to them. You guys have one of the best reactions to this particular Selena video, that I have seen so far. To see your smiles and how you were touched by her angelic voice as soon as you heard her, well, it just brought tears to my eyes. I still remember the day I heard the news of her death 25 years ago and not one year goes by that I don’t mourn her death, hence, why I’m checking out videos of her in the middle of the night. She was so great and loved by so many at the tender age of 23, and I get chills just to think of where she would be now if she hadn’t been yanked from this world at such a young age. The only thing that gives me solace is the fact that Selena’s memory is timeless and immortal. Her music is being introduced to a new generation year after year, which means, she will live on in our hearts forever. Thank you for doing your part.

Selena quintanilla la mujer más bella del mundo y en todo sentido 😍 ❤️
This was her last concert , it was really so amazing; she sang for over 60,000 people. She out sold various country music artists that had previously performed at the Astrodome. This was huge for a Latin artist during those times. She was just really a talented soul.
No person can watch Selena without smiling

We all love her purple outfit, she actually made it herself!
Please react to the Disco Medley from this same performance, 1995 Houston, Texas Astrodome. Selena is of hispanic heritage but was born in Lake Jackson, Texas. Her first language is English and she learned Spanish phonetically ... her Hispanic fans learned to appreciate and accept her bumbling the Spanish language. She sang it beautifully but fumbled through Spanish interviews. Growing up she had a strong admiration for Donna Summer, and was heavily influenced by many R&B artists. I was fortunate enough to see her in 2 live performances, the last one February 10, 1995 in McAllen, Texas.
I love that her whole family toured with her and were part of the shows. ❤️
Disco medley Selena. The start of her concert :)
Beautiful voice and great performer! She was from Texas and sang Tejano music, a unique genre of that state.

I had to share this video with my friend! I loved hearing your thoughts, as well as seeing how moved you guys are by Selena and the music. Too funny how you guys are stunned after just a few notes lol!!!!
Selena was an American from Texas, of Mexican Ancestry!!! 😇
this was the last concert she performed. it's heartbreaking that we only have so much of her to enjoy, when we should have been able to enjoy her transformations and her artistry far beyond 1995. Selena had so much in the works and was about to release a full album in English, in a modern mid-90's r&b style production. The few songs she finished were amazing. I was 11 when she was murdered and as I get older, it become more and more painful to imagine that she did not get to live to be older and older.
When she died she was just getting ready to cross over from Spanish to English in her music she loved Donna Summers
You guys were so much fun to watch !!!! As a Mexican American we grew up listening/Watching her music and performances but it is so nice to be able to watch someone experiencing Selena for the first time.
