    The way to travel, whether on boat or not is the way you're doing it. Talk to the locals, make friends and have a good time.

      It's an Ecume de Mer, from Mallard shipyard. Have a look at episode #24 where I do a tour of the boat : ua-cam.com/video/nk8K1GF2fB0/v-deo.html

    Greetings from a Scots ex Catamaran deckhand/deputy skipper. I'm really enjoying your video series, so interesting and informative. I have a question for you.. how much does it cost on average for I night or day moorage? Is it charged at an hourly or a daily rate?
    Bon Voyage and Slainte Mhath!

    • @TheSailingFrenchman
      @TheSailingFrenchman  6 років тому +2

      Thank a lot!
      Harbour fees vary a lot. For my boat (26ft) it is around 15 to 20 euros per night in the Med, and around 5 to 10 euros in the Atlantic. But this is average, it really depends on the marina you go.
      Then there is anchoring, anchoring is free in 95% of the cases

    Bonjour, Comme toujours video sympa ! Pour l'epoxy du pied de chandelier, tu as mis quoi comme charge ? Merci !

    • @TheSailingFrenchman
      @TheSailingFrenchman  6 років тому

      Merci :).
      Pour la charge j'utilise du mixdill, c'est un mix de silice et de microfilmes de verre, c'est un bon compromis entre resistance et facilite de mise en oeuvre au moment de la pose.

    • @TheSailingFrenchman
      @TheSailingFrenchman  6 років тому

      Mixfill pardon

    Excellentes tes vidéos!! Dis, est-ce que naviguer avec un franc-bord relativement bas rend la navigation beaucoup moins confortable? Tu prends beaucoup d'eau ou pas tant que ça!? Merci d'avance pour les vidéos, c'est la classe mondiale!

    • @TheSailingFrenchman
      @TheSailingFrenchman  6 років тому

      Hi, merci beaucoup!
      Alors effectivement, le petit franc bord = navigation humide des qu'il y a plus de 15 nds de vent. Apres c'est pas en permanence, mais une petite douche tous les quarts d'heure... Donc quand il fait chaud et beau c'est top, quand ca caille ou de nuit, c'est moins drôle :). Mais une fois qu'on le sait... on s'adapte

    Bjr, merci pour ces vidéos, j ai une question concernant tes lazzy jack : t as fais cela au pif ou tu as suivi une règle ?
    Ne pourrais t on pas imaginer un seul bout qui serait le guindant d 'un filet accroché à la baume ? On aurait alors lazzy bag et lazzy jack regroupé en un seul dispositif ?

    • @TheSailingFrenchman
      @TheSailingFrenchman  6 років тому +1

      Alors pour les lazy jacks, j'ai passe une matinee a faire le tour de la marina ou jetais a ce moment la et a prendre plein de mesures sur tous les bateaux qui me laissaient monter a bord :)
      Le système dont vous parlez fonctionnerait sans doute, mais le seul intérêt du lazy bag est de protéger la voile du soleil. Fonction que ne remplirait pas le filet. Sinon les lady jack maintiennent très bien la voile sans avoir besoin de rajouter un filet.
      Enfin je pense :)

    I am sure you have fixed the issue.... at 4:20 in your video your jib sheet is inside your lifeline and will chafe and damage your stanchions. fair winds ..

    • @TheSailingFrenchman
      @TheSailingFrenchman  6 років тому

      Good eye :)
      Yeah, depending on how long I stay on a tack, at which point of sail and the wind pressure, I have the sheet in or out. It's a bit of admin but no other choice
