shop my setup and manga collection!

Man, the quality of the books regardless of their price point is amazing. I feel like that's almost impossible to see that in the US.
Yes I agree!! Even though they’re much smaller, they still hold up so well~ and there’s some with gorgeous quality!! the prices are actually insane
or in Italy :(
It’s a different culture. Reading manga is not necessarily a kids thing.
But I do wonder if the digitized books affected manga in Japan?
Yeah
Omg I would love to shop for the bl manga US is slowly growing but still not enough compared to that section
Cheap manga or as I like to call it "Going broke simulator". Seriously thoses prices are crazy wish they had something like that in my country.
omg that’s to good, going broke simulator !!! 😭😭😭 I really wish these prices for manga were worldwide!!!
Yeah
It’s only 5 dollars in my country! So cheap
The manga in the country I live in is so fcking expensive. It's like 45-70 aed
One manga in my country Costs 27 !! How bad 😭😭
It's a shame they (probably) don't sell English versions only Japanese as for around $2+ per manga compared to $8-15+ per manga here is incredible
here mangas cost like R$36/40 and sometimes R$80 and im not even talking about the shipment fees, y'all are living on a dream :")
@@noeyesalwaysw4tching different currencies though so $15 for him could be more for you.
Here in finland we usually have 5€ per manga! Its a bit more expensive but I think its duable. You can find manga at smaller convinience stores or even big shops :D
THE PRICES ARE SO GOOD
I KNOW RIGHTTT
@@mangatamano translation price and export are added to the original
This is also making me cry at the fact I'm spending around $13 per volume where I live, WE NEED THIS, MY ALMOST EMPTY WALLET NEEDS THIS 😭😭
The spy family volume 2 is around £20+pounds here :(
It should be understandable as it needs to be translated and re published. But yeah, I wish manga were this cheap
@@sleepyheaaad07it is, but I also have a good lot of manga on my shelf that I wish I could’ve gotten it cheaper 😅and especially now cause my wallet is depressingly empty atm so… 😔
13? *HOW ABOUT 120? WHERE TF AM I GOING TO GET 2760 DOLLARS FOR JUST THE DEMON SLAYER SERIES ALONE CAUSE WTF* 😭😭😭😭😭
@@_AnAC_120$ for one manga? That might be a scamzz
I remember asking a friend to buy back some manga from Japan so I could practice my reading. He brough back 6 volumes of a series I liked and I was prepared to pay out ~80 $ for all 6 (for refrence, my local comic shop charges 12 $ for popular series and 16/18 $ for less popular series). But a single volume was just a little under 5 $ each. They even came wtih a slip cover and a little "thanks for your purchase card" as a nice throw-in. Suffice to say, for a collector like me, I am insanely jealous.
I wish there was a place that had those prices where I live 😭 hope one day I can go to japan
ahh I wish so too!! >< hope you can come visit someday!!
the only unfortuante part is that none of the manga is in english 😭😭
Learn japanese it's not like the store is in japan
@@Bush_bro13 well yea ofc its not gonna be in english; its just that for being able to pay less than here in the states most of us arent able to fully read it
@@_Peregrinus_fr like i have a one piece manga from volume 1 to 84 i know ITS A LOT and it takes. So much space from my room and most of it are in japanese i only know a little bit of japanese and that is the problem all tho the prices ar pretty good bc i bought it from japan and the quality is amazing
I'm in Love with BSD! These cheap prices makes me wanna cry. We pay 7,50€/$ for one Manga. This makes me wanna get them all
I know right!! I also am dreading paying $10+ for manga after leaving Japan 😭😭
@@mangatamaI pay 110 riyals in my country for one manga🥲
Bruh in the US one manga on average is like $10.00 now
You get them for that price?? Here it’s $13-15
20$ for me
Manga in the us is almost triple of not quadruple those prices. That’s pretty wild honestly, what a massive mark up
It’s mainly due to it being translated and exported to the US what makes it cost more to produce
@@Reallich_Na it’s still weird considering that the German editions are also significantly cheaper than the English ones, even if they look the exact same.
making stuff in us is much more expensive thats why@@robsch21
it's second-hand manga so yeah
Nah these prices make me wish I could collect from Japan instead. Got me spending like 10+ on a volume and that's with me buying from Walmart which has them discounted 😭. And paying regular price at Barnes and Noble has me dead 💀.
I feel that so much!! I want to start a Japanese collection with these prices haha! Buying them full price definitely hurts so bad T_T
Barnes and noble are crazy expensive TwT
The one where two boys on a bicycle - Migi and Dali- is a rlly good series that is and ongoing anime atm! It’s about two twin brothers where only one was adopted meaning they must live as one whilst finding the murderer of their mother! It’s got funny moments and I am not sure how the manga has progressed since the mangaka died r.i.p but I think it’s a pretty good series so far! >w
ahh thank you so so much!! I'm definitely going to have to check out this series~ the cover was so interesting, but your explanation made it even more enticing! but ahh yes rest in peace to the mangaka :((
at 1:11 those characters from the photo cards are from the game enstars!! its like project sekai but w a dif play style and all characters are guys bc idol groups etc!!
i was about to cry out of joy by seeing all of these prices, you're living my dream frfr
This is what I call manga paradise!
I recommend reading Hell's Paradise, the manga is so amazing especially the artwork. It has a perfect ending and it isn't that long anyway, perfectly paced.
I’ll definitely have to check it out then!! Thanks for the recommendation :)) it sounds wonderful
as a person that lives in japan, im actually surviving off these prices at this place honestly 🙇
haha YESS!! i'm just a temporary visitor but still so grateful for the prices haha
I love the shiny spines, there is definitely a quality difference
yes definitely!! I should’ve taken a look inside 😣😣
I'm going to Japan next October and Book Off is on my list of places to go! 😁😁😁 (We'll be taking an extra suitcase inside our big suitcase just for manga/snacks/souvenirs 😅😁
That's perfect hehe!! You'll definitely be needing the extra suitcase :)) hope you have fun!!
i’m so excited for you omg i hope u have the best time!!
Wow!!! I hope you enjoy it! For me iam planning on studying in japan after I graduate
I forgot I can't read Japanese.
The fact that you got out of there with NO manga's whatsoever proves to me that you have either the mind of steel cause I would have practically been robbed of millions if I was a millionaire 😭. It's such a rarity seeing cheap manga's. Thank you for blessing us with this sight lol
I WANT THE BUNGOU STRAY DOGS MANGAA 😭
Book off is my go to! Especially here in america, i have found figures, books and even video games at such a low price truly my favorite comfort place to go. ❤️
I never knew book off was also in america!! That's insane, I'll definitely have to go check it out when i'm back :))
@@hannnza yes! Theres so many store around at least here in Cali, they have a section in English and original Japanese depending on which store you go to! :)
Japan is heaven for anime fans. You're lucky.. keep on showing off these beautiful stores
Loved being able to see the pricing on these to get a sense of how affordable they are! So many lovely covers and series that looked adorable/wholesome
1:19 I gasped when I saw Jack Howl (Twisted Wonderland)
I've been to a BookOff in NYC. Definitely not the same. This Japanese one looks great!
I had no idea there was one in NYC!! That's super cool~ definitely hard to beat the ones here haha T_T
Yeah, it's a similar setup. But not as much selection or as good prices. Which I guess is expected@@mangatama
That store is incredible, I wish there was something like this in England! Also I love how you edited this - it was so relaxing to watch!
I love the smell of new manga. I’m trying to collect the spyxfamily, The promised Neverland and one piece manga currently.
Seeing someone going through mangas ans them finding one thats underrated and complimenting them must be so heartwarming since the community is small ❤❤❤
thank you for writing the prices. it's crazy, how cheap these mangas are in Japan!😄
That seems like both hell and paradise at the same time... like sure SO much manga and it's always exciting just being able to see series that you enjoy and be able to browse potential new series to read, but at the same time... unless you can read Japanese, it'd still be a "waste" of money unless it's something you're happy to just collect for the sake of collecting - which however cheap still costs money and space.
3:49 BUNGO STRAY DOGS IS THE BESTTTT
I SAW MAGI!! please read it omg then arc that starts after the anime stops IS SO GOOD!!! honestly the best....
omg yesss I'll definitely read it soon!!!
i wonder if in the long run it’s cheaper to just learn japanese to be able to read the original versions than buy the english translated ones..
I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS STORE! Have bungou stray dogd, seraph of the end, moriarty the patriot, demon slyer, you got me
The prices are so good omg… 🫢
0.73 cent manga?! That is actually insane, where I'm from you are lucky to find one under 10$
like seriously blue lock manga for 3$?! i have to pay like 15 and I want the whole series 😭
yes!! i think a lot more people in Japan collect manga because it's more accessible and cheaper T__T
Love it!!💕The prices are so good! Now i wanna travel to japan to explore everything!
UA-cam recommended brought me here. I love browsing at Book Off even if I can't read Japanese (yet). Just flipping through some random manga and enjoying the art is a good way to spend a lot of time there. The one you browsed here was one of my favorites to visit. Very well organized store, and the aisles are slightly wider then other Book Off I visited.
I love watching people go and buy stuff in Japan, it gives me motivation to keep on learning Japanese :DD
Loving the Japan content 😋
Congratulations on 100k!
You are on of my favourite youtbers❤
Thank you so so much!! I truly appreciate it so much
😮🤤🤤 I could get lost in there for weeks, this video was awesome also I’m a new subscriber to this channel, I look forward to seeing more, I also like the music you put with the video because it’s just relaxing and chill music to listen to while watching you go through manga.
I love seeing this kinds of videos, I wish I could go there some day
Super happy you like them!! Hope you visit someday >
This is one of the reasons why i wanna travel to japan 🫶🏻
hope you can travel there soon!!
Same!!! ❤❤❤
Just got my first few manga recently. Had a £200 book voucher and brought around £130 of manga with it. Manga here is between £8-£16 a volume depending on the series, popularity and age. Would really be amazing to see cheaper manga here but it will probably never happen, still it's cheaper than when I tried to collect marvel comics and the covers look better
I Love your videos they're so calming ❤
so glad you enjoy them!!
Congratulations on hitting 100 thousands subscribers Mangatama!
thank you SO SO MUCH!!
That looks like paradise, I could spend my whole day there 😭
I should state that if you want to be happy while trying different mangas all time - try to learn basic Japanese to the level you can / try to read from ground up
Wow, that store is amazing. The prices are so cheap and there is so much inventory!
Veryyyy cozy video😊 thats a insane amount of manga lol the reason why im thinking they have that many is because they know they'll sell in japan, in the states its a hit or miss, but its a growing trend to get manga so maybe theyll start expanding for us too
Thank you so so much!! Definitely an insane amount of manga haha~ yess hoping manga gets even more popular in america soon!
Ahh imagine working in a store like this ><
In my country idk if there is any manga shop, but since I'm not close to a really big city, it's hard to find even asian snacks like pocky or Samyang noodles. So I got so happy when I saw these in a store today. It was quite far away but I will defintely go back to try more.
ahh working in places like this would be so nice!! discovering new series everyday >
1:10 They're characters from a Rhythm game called 'Ensemble Stars'! :D
ohhh book off!! there’s some here in the U.S. - not as big of a collection/variety, but it’s where I get my cheap pins/badges. it does suck since it’s rare I find something in a fandom im in 😭 the manga collection is decent tho!!
Ahh i love kono oto tomare too!! At 2:16! And also owari no seraph!! 6:29! And coffee and vanilla @ 9:33 too!!
Woah i got so many new manga and anime recs from here! Thank you very much for the video!!💖✨
I feel like I would get lost and spend literal hours searching through the shelves!! So many interesting series not published in English! •A•)
haha yes!! I definitely got so lost, I was even lost when I was editing the footage like where am I haha!! It was definitely so fun seeing all of the series I've never seen before
Oh woww.. Love it. I want the fruits basket series and spy family :)
THAT TOMATO JUICE IN THE START WAS MY CHILDHOOD! OMGGGG
yay for this bc i’m heading there in a few weeks, but wasn’t sure which particular store 2 go, tysm ^^
just checking if it’s the sunshine 60 tori store ?
that’s so exciting!! yes this is one by sunshine city :)) hope you have a great time!!
Vietnam also has really high quality yet cheap costing manga. When I visited there last year I bought tons of manga. Volumes were like 1-3 dollars Canadian each.
Woww that’s amazing!!!
omg the badges!!! i might finally be able to make an itabag!!!
Me wanting to buy them! 😊😊😊 *me realizing that manga is in Japanese * I don’t speak Japanese
haha that's ok!! before I could read, I just collected them for fun XD
1:11 those are actually characters from a game called Ensemble stars!! music. Its a rhythm game with really good music and a lot of fun characters!
It's seriously the cheapest with unbelievably good quality
oml, that's heaven
THOSE PRICES ARE INSANE 😭 that’s why I always use websites that translate it in English for free 😅
This video was so nice to watch! Also, I have no idea as to how you managed not to leave all your money at that shop, I wouldn't have had the self control to keep myself from buying absolutely everything I see (-v-). Where I live, I always have to pay at least $15 for a single volume TT!!
This is literally, LITERALLY, a dream😩😭
I was here when I had a trip to Japan back in May! One of the best place to be. I feel nostalgic seeing this. I got myself two Gunplas and a few anime keychains for friends.
Yes, Magi is a really good series! I am reading it right now and it is amazing, so I highly recommend!
I’ll definitely check it out!! So excited thanks for sharing hehe! :))
Yay she posted❤😊
yay!!
03:43 "Suki na ko ga megane o wasureta" is a very sweet romcom, I love it. The anime is.... okay, I guess? The voices, the OP and ED are all great, but the animation has some bizarre visuals sometime, especially in the first episode. My favourite anime romcom this year was definitely BokuYabai!
By the way, "Tonari no onee-san" by Fujichika Koume is a cute manga too. I'm collecting the japanese volumes.
My eyes went wide and filled with hearts when I saw Dabi 1:00 😌
“What in the world is this” TO MIGI & DALI LMAOOO THE ANIME IS GOOD THO 🙏
You had me at The Dangers In My Heart, i love that Anime, id probably buy the entire series... i have to go there when i visit Japan...
Bungo Stray Dogs is SO worth it 100000% recommend
I've heard that so often!! I really have to go check it out haha
THE ENSTARS CARDSS
Wowwww I’m so jealous! I wish we had a store like this in New York 😭💜 I would buy everything 😂
I wish something like this shows up in the U.S. soon too!! >< cheap prices are soo nice haha
The "dentist x romance" is comedic gold. I recommend it!
The god keeps dropping fire. Mangatama is a legend!
haha you’re the legend!! Thank you so much
I love the Kono Oto Tomare series too
Glad to see you just made a video
thank you for watching!! :))
seeing this make me resolve on my decision of picking up my japanese language class again 🤔 man, to learn new language just to read the manga and have the physical version of it with cheap prices would be worth it 🤣
WHAAA, THEYRE SO CHEAP. ID NEVER LEAVE!!!
THAILAND ALSO HAS JAPANESE MANGAS FOR 80 BAHT (which are TWO euros and slightly more than 2 american dollars ). I bought several jujutsu kaisen mangas in my thailand trip last month.
But still bad for english readers, as those mangas are obviously in this case written in Thai characters.
Btw it depends on WHERE you buy them in thailand. In bangkok they are a bit more expensive but where i was (northeast thailand in khon kaen at a big mall) they all were 80 baht.
This so good! But is there english versions? Bc im planning to go to japan soon! Great video :)
1:11 the characters here are from Ensemble Stars!!
Being there must have been heavenly, i am so jealous
Wow lots of great titles and prices!!! Thanks for the video
Thanks so much for watching!! :))
You’d never see prices like this in the US for manga. They start from like $9.99 new and go up from there 😢
U should rlly read マギ!!! 😖💞 it’s sosososo good and the art is amazing 😫🙏🏻
ahh I have to read it!!! I'll definitely get on it sometime >< thank you for the rec!!
augh im so jealous!! good videos btw
I live for these vids atp ❤
I love your channel sm❥

1:10 ALL THAT ENSTARS STUFF 💔💔💔💔💔
I want to start studying Japanese, it would be so nice to just be able to read manga in Japanese & it would save so much money! I love to watch your video's to just see what stores in Japan look like, it just has a whole different vibe than a manga store in western countries. 🥰
watching this while in canada makes me cry
There were so many mangas!
I can spend all day in that place😍
Really enjoyed your video
Thank you for taking us to such an amazing place with you❤️✨
Thank you so much!! So happy to hear you enjoyed it :))
