Kudos to Lutosławski's wife, Danuta, who was the copyist for the String Quartet and subsequent works, and who helped solve the notational challenges involved in Lutosławski's "controlled aleatoric" compositions.

Thanks for posting this unbelievable piece...could have been written yesterday. The passing of the short rhythmic motif around to each player in octaves tied with wavy lines, is SO Beethoven!!! Especially its strategic placement, reoccurring, throughout the structure of the entire work giving it unity
