- Join us in this Part 1 of 2 video as Howard reviews Synergistic Research’s flagship, $28,000 (USD) Galileo PowerCell SX power conditioner. Included at that price is the company’s $10,000 active SRX power cable, also a flagship product. Still with that kind of price tag, this Galileo is obviously aimed at super high-end systems. In this first part of the review, we examine the Galileo and find out what makes it so expensive before addressing the questions of whether its price tag is justified and it performs as advertised.

SR doesn't make capacitors, why are the label as such?
No UL, ETL, DIN, VDE? Nutin'? Why not...unsafe in any environment?
Wow! Just wow! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Michael! HK
Very informative. Thank you!
Thank you Larry! Have a great weekend. HK
I bought Synergistic Research cables about thirty years ago for about $1000. Now, the same set of similar cables is about $15,000. Can we say inflation?
What does a SR duplex outlet do? that a Leviton doesn't? $10,000 AC line cord? Is it UL listed
Specs, what specs, showing AC in, versus AC out...UL listed? NO, why not? UL tests products for safety, is this not able to pass UL standards? or ETL CSA, no independent lab certs, means it's not built to any industry standards, why not?
APC, Cyber Power, Furman, tripp-Lite...legit makers of AC power stuff...never see SR anywhere in commercial or industrial settings, why not?
Would you consider recording and mastering studios commercial?
@@thelisteningchair_ name 3 and why are they using non UL NON ETL, NON CSA, etc etc? what independent lab safety tests has it passed? $28K, is a lot of money for a Box with some LED'S. Does it pass UL noise and spike suppression tests? Inquiring customers want to know. Ya can't listen to how it will perform when a large spike hits it, and it goes up in smoke, along with your facility. Specs please...how can you have a 32A connector ending in a 15A cord cap....UL, ever hear of it? Explain
@@cengeb Those question about studios is more fairly asked of the manufacturer. I do know that SR has posted photos on social media of their gear being used in studios, so I am sure you can find them there or just ask them. I have been using power conditioners from one mfr or another for decades and none has ever "gone" up in smoke or even failed to work. Nor do I know anyone who that has happened to. Ever. On UL certification, many high end mfrs don't get it due to cost. I don't know the specific circumstances here. I am not saying the practice is good or bad, just that it's very common with many respected manufacturers. And if you think that this product is just a box with some LEDs, that makes me think you are just trolling and not serious about what you are saying.
@@thelisteningchair_ specs did your unit come with instructions, that give electrical specs? Simple question. $28,k products can surely eat the price of testing to a independent lab for safety and meeting the most basic electrical safety standards. A $30 , hair drier has a ul listed spec number. Why don't pricey audio? Also you fail to explain what tuning an ac signal is all about, don't you want to ask the mfg before you review this thing so you can try the different functions ? What do the supplied instructions describe what turning an ac power supply is,or how. All you did was parrot the claims, but didn't substantiate anything. What kind of review is this,,?
@@cengeb Hey man, I think I see one explanation for your confusion. This is a two-part video and you have only seen part 1 (assuming you have). From your comments, it looks like you are under the impression that part 1 is it. But Part 2 is coming!
"tuning bullets"...to VOICE teh power cord? Explain, what does that do, I was already set to buy this, until you mentioned Tuning an AC line cord. How does that happen?
Magic.....😂
Where are the SPECS? Like noise filtration, current ability, you know, things based in REALITY
How about the lack of CE, UL, DIN etc.. certification?
What a load of BS...😂
$28K for an Amperage Meter and a couple of Leds...
If there where Laws in place to prevent selling these kind of Snake Oil products without any Objective Proof Ted would be in jail....
Hey Konstantinos. What did you think of the performance though during your audition? Thanks. HK
@@thelisteningchair_
I'll leave this to you, meanwhile, let us know if you can hear ANY difference in a Double Blind Test or better yet do a Null Test Input-to-Output using a simple Dual Channel Osciloscope of this thing, or, any ACTUAL measurable impact that thing has on the performance of the rest of your audio gear...
I'll wait.... and taking bets....
@@konstantinost3185 We don't listen with test gear my friend. Nor can such devices measure a lot of what a product like this does. So, I am unsure what you are waiting for??
@@thelisteningchair_
Ah....
The good old "We don't listen with test gear" argument, that's from the Snake Oil book first page, first sentence.
How about the Double Blind Test I also proposed that you seem to overlook for some reason?
I don't hold my breath though, if this ever happens everyone will fail, miserably.
@@konstantinost3185 the old measurements means everything argument and our ears mean nothing. if that were the case, just design by measurements and you would get the perfect product, but alas, virtually no designers do that. I am out my friend. Have a great night. I think we have sufficiently fed the UA-cam algo.
What does it DO?
My friend, the question is what DOSEN'T it do.
@@thelisteningchair_ NO, for $28K I want to know what it does, what are you talking about? Where is the specs, on how it fixes some AC issues. And what AC issues are you talking about? Why is it not UL listed?
Separates wealthy, gullible and ignorant "audiophiles" from their money, that's what it does...😉
What means "Voice the power cord".....HUH? Are you tuning a guitar?
Sorry it’s a complete ripoff
