You could see players like Stones and Bellingham demanding the ball to feet and to play it out and then you've got him instead punting it and giving Spain back the ball. Basically Bellinghams last minute overhead kick just saved Southgate his job and didn't mean anything else. Rather lose to Slovakia than lose another final, shambolic. I'm a Liverpool fan, i've seen finals being lost, but I've seen Klopp saying 'We will come back stronger' and getting to the next final and winning it. I rather see good football and losses instead of dry football and wins, then losing a final.
That’s what I said during the Ernesto valverde era at barca. B2B la liga winners but their football was disgusting to watch. 1 defeat that entire season but how they performed was not the Barca that I used to love. Would rather lose a match with an amazing performance than just seeing the game out.
I totally agree with you. It pains me to see someone so hapless manage a team of world class players. They got into the final despite of him, not because of him. England were zero fun to watch, the players were booed after two of the first three matches by their own fans. That's what happens if you use players against their strengths again and again.
England didn't deserve to be finalists in the first place. It's a mystery how they reached the final, considering they had the easiest path and got fortunate in every match.
Not a mystery though is it, we got the famous Southgate lucky draw with Southgate tactically losing every match we played. We were winning games not by fortune but by having the best squad in the tournament. Mystery solved. Now that he's gone I truly believe we have world cup potential especially if we get someone like Eddie Howe.
Kane wasn't helped by Southgate's terrible set up at all. Kane scores goals everywhere else, play him in a system that suits him or don't play him at all
Yeah anyone blaming the players doesnt know ball. Foden and kane score everywhere else but for southgate. Bellingham had been poor as well outside of One moment.
The worst mistake that England made was dropping back after the equaliser. They had the momentum, they’re at their best when they attack & look most vulnerable when they sit back & it’s insane & frustrating that the team was consistently set up to play it safe & drop back. Props to Spain, the best team throughout the tournament won
There's a clip of Walker taking a throw in near Spain's box and throwing it back all the way to Stones who passes it all the way back to Pickford who then boots it back up field for a Spain goal kick. Amazing way to take all the pressure off and give Spain the initiative again.
They didn't have much of a choice. That equaliser was against the run of play and they had 3 attacking midfielders on after taking Mainoo off for Palmer instead of takinh Foden off for Palmer
It's not picking the wrong players, it's picking the wrong players for the wrong system. Kane is a brilliant player when you have fast wingers all around him feeding balls into the box. If he gets chances he will score, even if he is not fully fit. But England are not doing that, they just sit back and play anti-football and hope for a moment of magic. With the players we have, we could beat anyone in the world, but we need to be brave and play attacking football (like they do for their clubs). We played well for 10 mins after we went 1:0 down, until we equalised, then we sat back again and lost it, desrervedly so.

After Palmer goal, why did they start sitting back again? They had all the momentum and they let Spain get to the momentum and the control of the ball back.
I agree with Mark's point there. Kane scored 40+ goals last season. You don't go from that to this shit. He needs pacy wingers not wingback, wingers that can run off him, get the ball and put a cross in or take the shot. Then lord southgate decides to play two 10's, two 6's...i just don't get it. He has made Kane look like shit this tournament
Genuinely tragic, kane is definetly not what he used too be but southgate really made us think HE was the problem this tournament instead of making adjustments and giving kane what he wants as southgate eyes cant come off his bum
The Enlgish fans switched up so much during this tournament. From "It's coming home!" to "Get Southgate out!" back to "We scammed our way to the final, but it's coming home" and then back to "Get Southgate out!!".
The problem wasn't kane , the problem is the middle, where is the creator?? Watkins got in and didn't get the ball either. Why you think kane has to drop because he doesn't get the ball.
If I were England, I would move to a 4-2-3-1. RB: TAA CB: Guehi CB: Ben White LB: Shaw CDM: John Stones CDM: Declan Rice LM: Foden/Gordon CAM: Bellingham RM: Saka/Palmer ST: Ollie Watkins If Pep Guardiola is truly planning to leave Man City soon and pursue an international job, England would fit him perfectly.
Kane could’ve gone home early and nothing would’ve changed. It’s ridiculous to pin it on him instead of looking at the mess Southgate turns his players into.
Just look at Argentina now, winning every final they play in with their 'golden generation' 1 World Cup 1 Finalissima 2 Copa Americas And this is as England is also having a golden generation. "England will eventually win a trophy" is where I think the mentality needs to change. You do not want to waste your golden boys era to maybe hopefully win one trophy. As things stand, England is going to end up like Belgium.
Before the match started, I knew England was going to keep it close cause England always do, then let it slip away at the last minute. Even if Palmer and Watkins played the whole match, England would somehow let it slip still.
Congrats to the Spain fans, brilliant squad that play the right way. For England getting to the final was the result of luck, a generous knockout draw and individual moments from great players. Will not win anything with Southgate at the helm.
I think it’s time to put Kane on the bench. As much as I love him he can’t keep up with today’s players. He could make a bigger impact coming off the bench. Although he does have a tendency to not show up when needed so maybe not as a last minute we need a goal sub.
imagine füllkrug hadnt scored against switzerland, germany wouldve played against italy, england and netherlands. spain vs germany final wouldve been the best final
The fa will want to keep him cos he is english and somehow got to the final. Not cos of him but players like jude saving his ass. 30 seconds away from going out to Slovakia btw. The english football core is to be all nicey nicey so they wont sack him he will probably walk as he wont cope with another tournament pressure. Kane is shocking in this style of play we have no runners in behind especially him. He suits bayern cos he links all their pacey runners and stands in the box and gets on the end of things. He is not the way forward for england no matter how many goals he has scored
You bringing up pacy wingers makes me think of the opposite end of the team ngl. If England had more defenders available instead of multiple attackers (unfortunately) just warming the bench/ playing for less than a quarter of a game for the entire tournament - 7 games, we could've used Walker's pace to create overlaps like that 1 chance in the first half, or even let Stones drive forward like he did ONCE, but we had no one to cover the space they left behind. tldr, I feel like the team selection screwed us from the start.

@@BigKahuna. as a footy fan blud, thanks for the support man. Southgate's football could not have won us the gold against SPAIN of all teams ("Spanish football is just different" a brother-in-law kept saying). We were cooked from the start, but it was looking salvageable for a while...oh well, time to roll the boulder back up the hill!
@@boom-jr8viwalker gave them 2 assits but can defend 😂
One thing you miss out is that Germany won't sack Nagelsmann just because they don't win the tournament. They don't sack him because they were actually playing good football on the pitch and there's ground for them to win something in the tournament. For Southgate however, look at how they get to the Final. Scrappy wins against poor sides. They sitback even when they face an easy opponent. Southgate doesn't deserve to even breathe in the oxygen in the final. He is a fraud.
Rodri POTT is just meat riding at his finest, I’m a RMCF Fan and I do not see how Yamal or Ruiz was not named POTT over Rodri.
Dude didn’t even play the whole final
Yamal was not the best player lmfao. Nico Williams was better than him by far. And oyarzabal was on top too. Rodri was a weird call but he's won the ballon d or now
Carvajal deserves Ballon Dor over him@@Coronel-z1d
Should have been olmo if we are being fair
They’re just making a road for him to somehow win ballon dor over Vini
@@Coronel-z1d ur smoking absolute pure fent if you think rodri will even touch the top 5 for Ballon D'or LMAO
Bro did not have to bring our country crashing out up😭🙏🏻 this is about England LMAOOO
Praying for you guys if we hand you down Southgate as some have been suggesting.
Spain is better no matter who the manager is
England’s team is better on paper so keep your mouth shut, you can tell who ain’t got a clue, yeah it’s you.
Get a different manager in there, and we would of won.
@@KieranTheCatboy See that's the problem. Spain plays passion football. England is a team of individuals that don't play together. England lost. English players are overated.
personally i think ralf should be manager of england imagine what he could do with that talent taken nothing away from Austria they have a fantastic manager was underrated at man utd he is still a manager i rate highly and would be great in the board i would take him back at man utd to work with the ineos and jim regime
Ollie Watkins is 28 bro, 2 tourney's left in him.
I really feel for Watkins, Gordon, Eze and Bowen. They basically all had their best seasons at their clubs just to get ~20 mins-ish of game time.
@@flashsagitario Trent??
@@robertthompson176 Not needed
@@TkrzTT to be consistently one of if the not the best right fullback/wingback in the Premier league for 2-3 seasons. Almost undeniably the best set piece taker and arguably the best passer in the squad and he gets to come on and bang in the 5th penalty in a shootout. Waste.
He started blaming Harry McGuire in spain first goal 😂
Too much PTSD 🤣
Muscle memory
Spain looked nervous as hell after the equaliser, the supporters were roaring, the players were getting after it there was another goal there to win it, but sat back and couldn't get the ball, allowed Spain to settle down and come back in.
England need to find Jurgen Klopp's # before the World Cup
Ir tuchel imo. Dude is an excellent tournament manager.
This England tournament has been like Christmas when my wife forces me to go see the in laws. I’m putting on a face but really I just want to go home
Tripper and Gallagher were going to come into the game prior to Spain's 2nd goal.. that just sums everything up about Southgate as a manager. Cowardly. Losing to Slovakia would've been a better outcome, for it would've meant regime change.
Imagine if Maguire wasn't injured 😂
They would've still lost and make him a scapegoat
literally the last minute England had a throw in and instead of going forward it goes back to bitchford to boot it out of play 😂😂😂😂
Stop blaming Kane. Sourhgate put him as a midfielder the whole game and every match !!
11:51 cold pause
i believe with southgate he does the same thing over and over again and hoping for a different outcome the english fa wont sack southgate get real they are his mates never listen to the fans im guessing majority would sack him its like telling a dog not to bark the dog will bark its in there nature oh and gz to spain ye deserved it were incredible throughout the tournie
insane how we were so passive in that final, safe to say I will not watch another England game while Southgate is in charge. All respect to him but his time is up.
Well he left now so you’re luck is in
They say Southgate wears a life jacket taking a shower 😂😂😂
After Palmer goal, why did they start sitting back again?
They had all the momentum and they let Spain get to the momentum and the control of the ball back.
Italy game all over again
Because of top quality players and awful strategics. Players trying to win, but southgate holds them back.
Because the opponent plays too
Spain deserved to Win but England let them win it.
Kane has never been a world class player
@@Heatwave9000 Ok mate
Shocking the whole tournament, Spain deserved winners.
The Enlgish fans switched up so much during this tournament. From "It's coming home!" to "Get Southgate out!" back to "We scammed our way to the final, but it's coming home" and then back to "Get Southgate out!!".
Kane is a great player Southgates system doesn’t suit him and he is being scapegoated for Southgates failure
The problem wasn't kane , the problem is the middle, where is the creator?? Watkins got in and didn't get the ball either. Why you think kane has to drop because he doesn't get the ball.
Pick’s pauses always doing goldbridge dirty 😂
If I were England, I would move to a 4-2-3-1.
RB: TAA
CB: Guehi
CB: Ben White
LB: Shaw
CDM: John Stones
CDM: Declan Rice
LM: Foden/Gordon
CAM: Bellingham
RM: Saka/Palmer
ST: Ollie Watkins
If Pep Guardiola is truly planning to leave Man City soon and pursue an international job, England would fit him perfectly.
As a Portuguese I relate to this England situation... nice squad... delusional manager... Ghost superstar.
South Gate should've played trent😤 he was left with 1 appearance to make to get an upgrade 😭
They didn't lose because of Kane, they lost because of defensive errors and poor tactics.
Kane could’ve gone home early and nothing would’ve changed. It’s ridiculous to pin it on him instead of looking at the mess Southgate turns his players into.
Sheesh i was watching this and Southgate has justannounced he's leaving lol
Can't believe ENGLAND had the most stacked squad and still they could not play good football all in EUROS.
Just look at Argentina now, winning every final they play in with their 'golden generation'
1 World Cup
1 Finalissima
2 Copa Americas
And this is as England is also having a golden generation. "England will eventually win a trophy" is where I think the mentality needs to change. You do not want to waste your golden boys era to maybe hopefully win one trophy. As things stand, England is going to end up like Belgium.
Kane is definitely starting in 2 years injury depending
"Easiest side of the draw by a long way." Yeah... and? You made it to the final.
NEVER have rated Southgate if he stays I’m done with it
Congratz for losing it Twice in GERMANY!
Keep doing what you’re doing Nick. It’s gonna be a long wait until football is back
Your predictions are so good throughout the tornament.W
I know Pick is young but you can tell he hasn’t watched England for the last 45 years if he thinks just removing Harry Kane will help.
spain vs germany game was the real final
Before the match started, I knew England was going to keep it close cause England always do, then let it slip away at the last minute. Even if Palmer and Watkins played the whole match, England would somehow let it slip still.
‘Start of a dynasty from Spain’ slow down slow down..
Yamal, nico Williams duo? Name one better? 😂
Morata did not do much better then kane
Probably don't even hear of many of these Spanish players again
thank god its not coming home
England are such a overrated team
Congrats to the Spain fans, brilliant squad that play the right way. For England getting to the final was the result of luck, a generous knockout draw and individual moments from great players. Will not win anything with Southgate at the helm.
Southgate coaches this team like a preschool teacher
Not really a case of Southgate getting sacked, he’ll probably resign
I think it’s time to put Kane on the bench. As much as I love him he can’t keep up with today’s players. He could make a bigger impact coming off the bench. Although he does have a tendency to not show up when needed so maybe not as a last minute we need a goal sub.
Another final another lose
I had to watch this 💯
I can't even look at Southgates face I look away every time the camera goes to him
lol
@keepitsecret-dl1pr I know I just upset england lost again
They’ve offered him a new deal but I think he will resign
The glazing of these England players is disgraceful non of them on pitch are remotely close to being "world class"
The biggest mistake Southgate made was not subbing in kalvin Phillips
imagine füllkrug hadnt scored against switzerland, germany wouldve played against italy, england and netherlands. spain vs germany final wouldve been the best final
Southgate in! It is too entertaining to watch Goldbridge lose it.
Ben white to Gordon: "Told you so 😎"
Pickfords pass completion must be awful😂
It’s really shocking that Kane wasn’t as good in the euros considering the season he just had with Bayern
Not sure what people expect from a Sean dyche goalkeeper to be honest 😂
It’s all because we didn’t have a Kalvin Phillips replacement!
Just imagine if Rodri hadn't got an injury at half time, it would've been a humiliation for England. 3-0 at least.
Football won Tonight, god bless us
Spain saved football
