I've been saying that the bamboo kit is perfect. There was a debate in the bamboo server of was s2 mk1 was better than s3 mk1 and s3 bamboo is so much better than the previous game. Ink pattern is further, aiming has less smoothing and the maps are more in favor of bamboo. It has a bomb that is actually USEFUL on it and the special is a great pressure tool and it's easy to combo from it.
wail used to be shit damage wise and it had 11 shots so auto was way less useful. Its also not fighting 3 crabs. It wasn't that bad but it was not good.
My favorite kill I've had with the reef was around the pole update on wahoo, had a one shot over the wall on right side (idk how to describe the location exactly but the wall you can paint on right side to get to center) from the low ground, felt amazing
Glooga dualies are SO underrated imo. The main weapon bullies anything shorter range than it, wall helps it possition far more aggressively than it could without it and booyah bomb is booyah bomb, the special works on pretty much everything. Super underrated weapon that im kinda sad to see nobody talk about.
I honestly thinks it's because it's kit isn't as good. Glooga is a strong weapon, I've recently played it myself and it was fun. But Booyah has other weapons you could use like Aero, Hydra, S-Blast, and even the Forge Pro. It also could have something to do with the Dualies having a higher skill ceiling. Very aim intensive, I struggle with them a bit myself but they're fun. I can agree they're slept on. I bet if Deco is good they'll come back. Especially if the kit is Fizzy/Jet like people think

Not only can it just delete you any time you go to charge/fire, the 2-hit > tap shot combo is so easy to land, and it can stay incredibly mobile in combat to adjust its range and angle. The wall one is actually significantly scarier to fight (the wall and slider punish for screwing up your positioning at all are really dangerous), but obviously that offers significantly less to the team as a whole than missiles. It's not like REEF-LUX sees no play; it's on basically every team in the final rounds of Koshien now, and has been for several events in a row AFAIK.

2:41 "it is an insanely reliable kill up close" Meanwhile last night I hit a guy who was right next to me and in the middle of my hitbox yet he didnt die. Very functional weapon 👍 Gold dynamo is also very underrated imo. The bomb helps a lot with long range poking, and chumps can... uh... *flips through notes* help combo with the main weapon? Yeah, we'll go with that
Honestly, I've found that Chumps work well when they're launched into an area that your team is controlling or about to control. For example, if your team is spawn camping on Inkblot, you could launch them onto the rectangular section of the enemy base just as the enemies have landed after spawning. This creates a situation where your opponents either have to brave traversing an open area full of your ink, explosive ballons, and enemies or try flanking (hopefully a teammate or two is covering the flank).
Between fighting them and playing them myself, I have to agree, all these weapons do feel underated. You know what else feels underated? The aggressive potential of Mini's first kit. I understand why, because Ultra Stamp's protection hitbox is a coin flip as to whether it works or not, (on top of the Burst Bomb nurfs hurting it immensely) but the kit works better than people give it credit for.
Been running QR/Comeback/Drop Roller on Dread since week 1, and I'm happy that it's finally gonna get the respect it deserves because you're posting about it lol
I’ve been a dynamo main (specifically gold) since I got the weapon in Splatoon 1. And I am so happy it got buffed! However one thing I have to point out, the RNG on its swings has killed me so many times in this game, even point blank swings to the face can miss because the ink decided to make a V pattern, missing the guy straight in front of me and going all to the left and right of him instead. So while the RNG can still be brutal sometimes, the buff definitely helps its consistency for kills when the ink pattern decides to work with you. If anyone has documented a way to make the ink splatters more consistent, someone please let me know.
I'd say all the rollers are pretty underrated. This is from a casual player so I'll probably get a few details wrong. The splat rollers are pretty versatile and I've found success both sharking and being aggressive. The vroller can hide in it's bubble and it's range goes out of the bubble, allowing it to lock out areas, and the curling bomb helps with scouting and movement. The krak-on is more of a rat weapon, for me at least. I use flanks to sneak into the enemy area, set up beakons and attack from behind. The kraken also works as a tool to clean opponents out of certain areas that you may need for pushing or objectives. The dynamo rollers also have alot of potential as you said in the video, it can hide in hard to get areas and lock itself in, becoming basically a block. The sprinkler can help with paint for area control and trapping opponents and the tacticooler is a great support option basically making a team unstoppable for a short amount of time. While gold dynamo does the same things as vdynamo, it has bombs as a get-off-me tool and chumps for cleaning areas needed to push. Carbon roller is fast and very aggressive and it's fast speed is complimented by it's autobomb, which can be used for scouting, cleaning, and a get-off-me tool in fights. The zipcaster can be dangerous and it allows the carbon roller to be alot more risky with it's moves, but caution is still needed. The deco's burst bomb is an amazing combo that lets you nearly insta kill opponents, it also helps with movement and chip damage from afar. The zooka matches it's aggressive power by forcing opponents to either run or attack, both a risky move. The flingza has the range of dynamo and the speed of a splat roller. It's painting power and range lets it safely charge and use missles from farther away. It has mines for defense, scouting and chip damage. The big swigs.... uhhh... they participated.
I use n-zap 85 on RM, cuz of it's kit. I also use ink saver main & sub + special power up on that mode, and I've won a lot of matches with those abilities and with the n-zap 85.
I’ve picked up dynamo ever since the buff and man, it feels so awesome to use. A sick buff for it would be if you can jump higher with it like the buff Undercover just recently got, and the vertical flick dealing more damage/removed from the game… the vertical flick is a curse in close quarters combat.
zmini is a weapon ive recently wanted to start pushing recently, since i used a lot of vanilla jr on release which fits a similar role, im realizing that zmini has some of the fighting capabilities that jr was missing inevitably making me start enjoying the weapon
I immediately picked up dread during drizzle season '23 and it was probably the weapon I had the most fun with during the entirety of the game's lifespan. Reefslider into enemy territory. Paint everything in like 2 seconds. Get another reefslider. Break spawn armor. Die, qr, stealth, rinse and repeat
I do agree with the list. There are some weapons that I just don't really see anyone and when I see other people play with them, they're actually pretty great with that weapon. For example, zink mini splatling is a weapon that doesn't really have a good kit (mist and big bubbler) AT first glance, but weapon play style is that, it's a frontline defense weapon because of what the weapon kit offers. I also feel some weapons that are fun (regardless of competitive or causal play), sure reef-lux isn't as good as it was at the start of the game, but I still enjoyed it. One last thing, I do find that dread has an interesting concept of throwing out 2 sloshes rather than 1 and at first not a ton of players were picking this weapon (from my perspective), but it's been growing on popularity around the community. Thanks for reading this.
Conditions have been ripe for Dynamo for a long time. The mere move to S3 gives it numerous additional movement options it’s never had before, as well as an excellent kit from the start. I’ve mained Dynamo for over six years, the main problem it faces is the very high dedication that’s required to understand the way it puts out damage. In terms of buffs, however… that whiting frame buff was a godsend, and gave me a lot of hope for S3’s Dynamo viability. I’m proud to be one of the few competitive players pushing both kits, as they’re both excellent support weapons. Craft your gear around their kits and you can really bring out their strengths. Only a buff or two away from being highly desirable in comps
I think wiper is also pretty underrated, especially the base kit, for a lot of the same reasons as dread wringer. It can output some pretty decent paint, has a great combo sub, stupidly good mobility, can bully anything with a shorter range than it but can also go for a close-up oneshot against something like a blaster. The only thing that really weighs down the kit is stamp, and if stamp had front invincibility, it'd be pretty perfect imo
The Krak-On splat roller is SO underrated. With Kraken it can cover more ground and mitigate enemy ink, so you can essentially just mosey on by enemy players to paint other areas.
I agree on the Dread Wringer. It's easily my second favorite Slosher (V Slosher is my main). One weapon I think is a bit underrated is the vanilla Nova. Sure, the damage is a mess, but it has good range and manueverability.
I got 5* on the Annaki Nova and I can say for certain that the Vanilla Nova is outright pathetic in the saddest way possible. Annaki has a special worth getting points for and Mines can be used to threaten opponents who want to get near with a much more impressive 3-shot, or cover paths to your injet's landing point to punish anyone who might want to shark you. While other Inkjet Weapons exist and are probably on the whole better, Annaki at least feels different enough to not feel totally outclassed (mind you that's because of a low number of inkjet weapons as of this post), just underpowered right now. Ballpoint is the closest comparison but that requires a TON of skill and lacks the same level of mobility Nova provides. Vanilla Nova on the other hand is a joke, the low damage really stings when you have a Sub that does no damage and a special which does unreliable damage, it's so bad that almost any other option that has the same sub or special is a better option. Nautilus has Point Sensor and is a MUCH better Main paired with a special that similar damage-wise but much more useful as it comes with extra paint, and .52 Gal has a similar level of range and comes with the same special and performs much better (though granted, .52 Gal as a Main has been busted for a while now with only the kits preventing it from being completely broken...) and there's also other options like Bamboozler. Even with buffs I'm not even sure if it could be any good, too many VERY similar options exist and the kit simply doesn't have synergy, people would still use the Annaki Kit over it for the niche it provides. TLDR, I could argue that Annaki Nova might end up being an underrated weapon once the main gets a decent buff to fighting capability, but the Vanilla Nova is just doomed to be forever bad without the kit being changed (which nintendo won't do)
As a fairly dedicated Zimi player, it feels great to have my weapon get some attention. Yeah, the kit's not the best, but it definitely has a niche thanks to the main weapon's versatility.
Not... really a big fan of the Dynamo Roller, because of how heavy the swings are; reminding me of similar, heavier weapons I've tried wielding in other games. Although it's downright CRAZY how I've seen some people put the Dynamo Roller to work, running some of the builds I vaguely remember. In a few online matches in ranked and turf in 2 or 3.
Ive been playong around with the Zink Mini lately and its REALLY fun. Toxic mist is surprisingly effective to get backliners like chargers and hydras to move and the main weapon is probably the easiest Splatling to use with my playstyle! I love being a lil goblin
The crazy thing about Dread Wringer to me is that we still haven't gotten a second kit for it yet, so it's worth speculating what kind of combos it might get with that second kit. (Yes, I know Bamboo hasn't gotten its second kit yet either, but unlike Dread, its current kit is already pretty synergistic, while Dread's only synergy is with Reefslider.)
As a dread wringer player since it came out I'm glad it's finally beginning to get the attention it deserves. Here's hoping they don't fumble the second kit.
as a diehard dynamo main seeing the devs actually give it attention and.. acknowledge it was a win enough but its damage buff has me having the most fun i've had w it in a while!!!
Zimmi probably has the most potential when it comes to it's strengths. If you run it with pencil, an Aoe weapon, and a painting weapon with sensor or another location option, you will get a very threatening team.
Hello-! I just got into Splatoon 3-- around 2 months ago, so far am enjoying your vids so much-! I mained the Bamboozler since Splatoon 1 and 2, would love to see the "How to Boozler" video like the Brella eventually, loved the Brella and this video. Thanks-! ••• Random video idea : can you rank the specials in Splatoon 1 / Splatoon 2 at the end of their metas? Thanks! ^^)
I would like to see the stringer class get full charge speed while in the air, like Squiffer. I think that would significantly improve the pace the weapons could play at because they often have to jump to hit one shots. It's unlikely it will happen, but it would make reef a serious menace and help tri-stringer keep pace with the other long range chargers.
The main deal with bamboo is it has never had a bad kit. The worst possible kit was all the way back in splat 1 with splash wall wail. Even then, It was still really good. Not to mention Splatoon 2's godly kits
Nice, I tend to periodically use 3 out of the 5 weapons here (Dynamo, Bamboozler, Dringer). My Dynamo dropped off for a bit, but I suppose I'll have to really re-look at the damage output.
Chara: this is a list of weapons where I think the public perception of them differs a lot more from where I think they are. Also Chara: [proceeds to list a buncha weapons he’s been historically known for dunking on in his tier list vids & vods] Great video jokes aside
The reeflux 90 hit is so much more consistent now after its buff, I just wish it had a sub weapon that could combo off of it, or even a special like rain that could do that bit of chip damage. but i guess i'll just have to hope people run into a wall. or stub their toe on a curling bomb.
I think a pretty underrated weapon is the Painbrush. Both kits are fine, but I think the newest one is better than the original. It does really good damage up close and can reach really far with its fast attack rate. Obviously it’s only problem is the build up before attacking, but from what I’ve learned from using it, it’s better at ambushing people or splatting people while they’re distracted, and if someone tries to attack you while you’re still attacking, you’ll most likely end up splatting the other person too. Some other things to mention is it’s AOE, which is good for splatting groups of people, and the fact you can splat people easily over ledges and walls. In short, this weapon has the same potential as dynamo IF it gets its wind up shortened.
as a recently starting reeflux main, it definitely was a bit tough to play with at first, but i’ve reached S rank with it & and it’s pretty fun to play with, if only it had a better sub rather than curling bombs
Im not in comp yet, but id love to use dread as one of if not my main weapon, but its kit kinda limits that. Personally id like to see it get beakon and crab. Most people want dread to get a combo tool and while i wouldnt complain, burst would just be broken and I think dread doesnt really need a poking or combo sub and beakon is good for cooler meta too. Crab is both and aggressive and defensive tool that would be able to combo with dread, plus distance pressure while keeping up your good painting capabilities.
Nova feels incredibly underrated to me. Granted yeah, the damage sucks and a lot of people think it’s just Aerospray Pro, but I truly think that it has some potential. With the right buffs (e.g. accuracy, movement, third kit, etc.) it could definitely be pushed up further in tiers/usage. Not to mention the kits aren’t terrible either. I really do hope that somehow I’m able to push it enough for people to see its potential 🙏🏻
I love playing Tri-Stringer, but I do switch over to the Reef-LUX from time to time. It's just so much fun and can splat really well! (If you can aim.)
It has been a long while since I played Zimi, but it is still crazy to me how some don't think Mini as a main weapon is good, when that's far from the truth.
I agree, reflux is so underrated, I’m actually trying to get five stars on that weapon because I love it, I think it has some unused potential what someone really is unlock goes for all of these weapons actually i’m hoping dread will get a good kit next season you know me with reflux and with second kits
I think vimi is also pretty underrated Idc if stamp has some issues it still a fine entry special. Not even mentioning burst which just works so well with it
The Reef Lux's instant kill shot is even harder to hit than a charger due to the requirements for *all* arrows to hit. You will probably do 90 damage. You will be reliant on teammates to do that extra bit of damage. So, I'd never use it in solo queue.
I wanna ask about a buff that was given to splatter shots it reduced RMG but what I think it has done is it’s kill radius was reduced fuel that the Splatoon two splatter shot has a wider kill spread
Crazy how bamboo was considered to have one of the worst kits it could have at the start of the game but now is very good

A sick buff for it would be if you can jump higher with it like the buff Undercover just recently got, and the vertical flick dealing more damage/removed from the game… the vertical flick is a curse in close quarters combat.
reflux randomly one shotting you is scary
zmini is a weapon ive recently wanted to start pushing recently, since i used a lot of vanilla jr on release which fits a similar role, im realizing that zmini has some of the fighting capabilities that jr was missing inevitably making me start enjoying the weapon
Gloogas. Thats it. Thats the message
I can get behind this message.
Agreed. I really wanna see that thing get a more aggressive kit and a onetrick push it to the limit
I am hoping so hard that Dynamo gets a good paint buff in the future, I'd LOVE to see it become a revelant Cooler option in the future
I kinda think that Splatoon 3 is more chaotic, but more fun!!!😊
Mini splatling my beloved
honestly as somebody who was interested in Dread from day one I'm glad to see it getting some genuine support fr
Only a buff or two away from being highly desirable in comps
i was hoping to see big swig but I really love this video!
That thumbnail was clearly targeted directly at us big swig mains
You will hear from our lawyers (real)
Idk I feel like mini as a main has been powercrept over the years
I think wiper is also pretty underrated, especially the base kit, for a lot of the same reasons as dread wringer.
TLDR, I could argue that Annaki Nova might end up being an underrated weapon once the main gets a decent buff to fighting capability, but the Vanilla Nova is just doomed to be forever bad without the kit being changed (which nintendo won't do)
You brought up 3 weapons i main, thank you for giving them life :D
Slaying capability✊😫💅
This is glooga dualie erasure
The crazy thing about Dread Wringer to me is that we still haven't gotten a second kit for it yet, so it's worth speculating what kind of combos it might get with that second kit.
(Yes, I know Bamboo hasn't gotten its second kit yet either, but unlike Dread, its current kit is already pretty synergistic, while Dread's only synergy is with Reefslider.)
I just won a zone series with Dread, so I'm a believer!
Nice informative video! (more like this pls c:)
As a dread wringer player since it came out I'm glad it's finally beginning to get the attention it deserves. Here's hoping they don't fumble the second kit.
I like how slider is such a consistent kit killer
as a diehard dynamo main seeing the devs actually give it attention and.. acknowledge it was a win enough but its damage buff has me having the most fun i've had w it in a while!!!
Zimmi probably has the most potential when it comes to it's strengths. If you run it with pencil, an Aoe weapon, and a painting weapon with sensor or another location option, you will get a very threatening team.
I'm happy Dynamo Mains can actually have a functioning hotbox, and I'm in love with bamboo lol
Bro put rapid deco in the thumbnail and talked about boozler instead. 😂
Hello-!
I just got into Splatoon 3-- around 2 months ago, so far am enjoying your vids so much-!
I mained the Bamboozler since Splatoon 1 and 2, would love to see the "How to Boozler" video like the Brella eventually, loved the Brella and this video.
Thanks-!
•••
Random video idea : can you rank the specials in Splatoon 1 / Splatoon 2 at the end of their metas? Thanks! ^^)
seeing 2 weapons i use alot (zink and dread) make it on this list makes me tear up im proud 🥲🥲
Bro I agree, but in my first match of online I killed 10 people and got killed 3 times!!!
I've always loved disrubbler and having ZiMi feels pretty good, it's a really fun kit, I just hope for mist buffs
DREAD W!!!
Chara: this is a list of weapons where I think the public perception of them differs a lot more from where I think they are.
Also Chara: [proceeds to list a buncha weapons he’s been historically known for dunking on in his tier list vids & vods]
Great video jokes aside
The reeflux 90 hit is so much more consistent now after its buff, I just wish it had a sub weapon that could combo off of it, or even a special like rain that could do that bit of chip damage. but i guess i'll just have to hope people run into a wall. or stub their toe on a curling bomb.
I’ve been using the New S-Blast kit and I love it. Just be prepared to never have booyah bomb unless you’re running special charge.
SONIC RIDERS ZERO GRAVITY MENTIONED 🗣📣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
As a Reflux main I can tell you this weapon is practically a shotgun close up when tapping. You can two shot anyone if close up.
I started as a dynamo player at the beginning, hated it, swapped to zimi, loved it, and now i play both with explo as well
I consider this video a sign that I should continue what I started with Dread Wringer, and go past it...
Go past the stars, to the sky.
Chara when your oc shirt comes back to the game are u going to gear combination with it?
as a recently starting reeflux main, it definitely was a bit tough to play with at first, but i’ve reached S rank with it & and it’s pretty fun to play with, if only it had a better sub rather than curling bombs
vRoller would've been on this list as recently as last Summer, but someone pushed it to its full potential!
No bigswig... understandable but I still hope someone pushes this weapon.
Raid Fire Weapons are my main and i refuse to use charged weapons. Semi Automatic weapons are okay but they put a strane on your fingers.
Just imagine the combos and movement a burst bomb would give to reef-lux, the squiffer that can hit over walls.
I agree, reflux is so underrated, I’m actually trying to get five stars on that weapon because I love it, I think it has some unused potential what someone really is unlock goes for all of these weapons actually i’m hoping dread will get a good kit next season you know me with reflux and with second kits
I think vimi is also pretty underrated
Idc if stamp has some issues it still a fine entry special. Not even mentioning burst which just works so well with it
I honestly think mini splatting is really good. It’s kits are fine and I think people just don’t use it that much.
