The best keyboard sounds demo I've ever seen. You played the perfect passage for every sound. Even during the stand up bass for instance, you were playing legit bass lines like you understood the instrument well. Bravo well done

I am extremely impressed with this board. Such wonderful sounds for less than half the price of a Nord Piano. My uncle had a Vox Jaguar in the 60s, I guess my interest in Vox carried down to me :)
Hello, thanks for your comment! Yes I am also very pleased with this keyboard, I've actually done quite a few concerts with it and it worked very nicely. It's also quite "eye-catchy" so it works great for the stage. I truly think it is a very good keyboard for the price, but unfortunately the piano sounds and keyboard feel are not very good. Oh well, we can't have it all!

Nice review! I really like this board a lot, and I don't think that it gets the credit that it deserves. It has a nice intuitive interface - easy to get to all of the sounds. I actually am impressed with the Vox Continental Sound on it. I think that it sounds more detailed and thicker than many emulations of the Vox that I have heard. The only emulation that I've heard of a Vox Continental that I think tops this one is on the Crumar Mojo 61. However, this really beats the Mojo with its Farfisa emulation. In terms of a recreation of 60's combo organs, this does a great job. You get a great palette of sounds, too - the only criticisms that I'd give it is that the Acoustic Pianos aren't up there with the Nord APs, and the CX3 Hammond emulation isn't up there with the top Hammond contenders of today, either. The keybed is wonderful! Not having an aftertouch strip gives it that nice super light weight while still retaining the waterfall feel! Great board, and if they were to be able to improve the APs and the Hammond emulation, this thing would be unstoppable IMO!

I also think that this keyboard is quite underrated. I especially like the interface, the Vox organ sound and its looks! It certainly is nice and attracts eyes on gigs.
For a manufacturer, it's probably difficult to get all sounds perfectly right in a keyboard, this said I agree with you that the Acoustic Pianos could be vastly improved. If a pianist really wants a great sound and a great action, this keyboard is not for him. Still, pianos sounds are not the main purpose of this instrument and like you, I enjoy the emulation of the original Vox Continental.
@@PianoMusique For sure! This was meant to be a recreation of the 60's combo organs first and foremost, but they made it super versatile and convenient for a gigging keyboardist. The EPs are magnificient, forgot to add that! The manufacturers can only do what they can with what they have currently, and I don't know that Korg has the Piano sampling/modeling that others have just yet, or perhaps it is in the works : ) They were likely trying to compete with the Nord Electro and other models like it, while also respecting that it is a specialty keyboard, too. To keep it in the price point, I imagine that there was only so much that they could do, and I think that you get a great value with this baord!
and by the way, again, wonderful review of this board. Great playing and very comprehensive/in-depth look into the capabilities of this board!
Thanx for the great demo. I evaluate a more portable keyboard to carry around instead of my Nord Stage 3-76. This VOX could be the solution.
Hey you're welcome! For the price, it''s a great keyboard, also very light. However, compared to the Nord stage 3, it has a very bad action. I mean, the action is ok for organ and electric pianos, but if you want to do acoustic piano pieces, where you need more finesse and volume control, it's definitely trickier to achieve what we want compared to the nord. So make sure to test it before buying it. :)
@@PianoMusique Thanks for the reply. I am aware of the keyboard issue. What is your opinion about the comparison with the Nord Electro 61 waterfall keys? Is this similar to the VOX? I have a NE61 and can more or less manage piano playing on it. But this is an old version without layers, and this is a pain.
The key action on the Electro is better in comparison to the Vox because it's quite heavier, and thus gives a better feeling of what we're doing. However the Vox feels a bit less "springier"... if you do a lot of glissando (for example with the organ sounds), the Vox feels better, but that's my opinion :)
@@PianoMusique Thanx for your advise. I will use the VOX in a guitar dominated band where I play mainly organ/strings/pads. I guess this will do the job. I have just ordered it.

I have a question about that new 'split' feature they added in new firmware.
Is it possible to connect 2 amps to this keyboard? So bass section to be heard on one speaker and organ on another?

Anyone know where the Doors' "Riders on the Storm" sound is?
Please can you help me figure something out? The latest update allows for increase to save more sounds to 64 banks. I seem to be stuck on 16, how do I save 16 more sounds to another bank? And then recall them? Any advice appreciated
If you've carried out the update, go to the Korg wabsite and download The upgrade guide for v2. 0 you'll find all you need to know there and you can also download the updated Voice guide which lists the new sounds that come with the update. Good Luck.

Hi, unfortunately not, the keyboard feel is not realistic in any way compared to an acoustic piano. It doesn't have hammers, and the keys are made of lightweight plastic. Thus, it's not great for piano playing but fine for organ sounds.

It truly is ! You can customize the factory sounds, and save them in one of the 16 slots available. However, you can't create a sound from scratch.
j'ai parcouru un peu tous les commentaires et dans mon utilisation loisirs, amoureux des E.P (reface CP top mais trop petit), et moins des orgues ou des pianos, est ce qu'il y aurait meilleur option et moins chère ? avec 4 octaves minimum et 5 octaves max d'après vous ? avec un toucher semi lourd ? mon utilisation est loisir mais comme je faisais de la musique y'a 20 ans, je ne peux pas acheter un arrangeur... j'ai besoin de sons authentique, mon oreille ne peut pas digérer n'importe quoi lol. Merci a vous. j'ai lu que le VR 09 était vraiment très correct et avec l'avantage d'être un peu plus généraliste... mais je n'ai pas pu tester le toucher du clavier... Merci !

Are there flute sounds on this keyboard? I've been skipping around and haven't heard any yet.
Hello, my answer is a bit late... But at the time of the video there were no flute sounds no. There has been a new update on this keyboard, on which they added a few sounds. Personally, I haven't checked them out, but you could probably find out if they included some flute sounds searching on their website. :)
Does anyone know if they still make these? I tried ordering one but I was told they’re no longer available?

Not enough Farfisa sounds for me and I hear most of the sounds with too much vibrato , I wonder if you can slow that down? and then save?
Hi, thanks for your comment. My answer is a bit late but I was away for a while. Unfortunately I don't think that you can change the preset tremolo/vibrato sounds.
They emulate an older Farfisa and Not the later Compact that most aspect. This version have No Percussion and fewer variations/ Buttons than the later Compact. There are more strange decissions Made by Korg. Vibrator/Chorus/Keyclick is Not customizable. Why?? And that's Not all sadly :-(.
On the other Side Despite the Keys there are many good Things. The buildquality ( Metal) the Interface, this dynamics Button and the Overall Sound ist pretty I think

It has clavinet sounds, under the "Key" section in the "Others" category. I played all stocks clavinet sounds here 31:35

Salut :) je regarde depuis un moment tous tes cours et ils m’ont vraiment bien aidé je joue principalement du boogie woogie et même si je n’arrive pas à improviser aussi bien que toi je sens que ça va venir je voulais te remercier pour ton travail et te demander si possible de refaire une vidéo pour nous présenter des mains gauches (boogie-woogie) et si possible celles joués dans la vidéo au titre suivant : « Piano-boogie-medley, Stefan ulbricht, Chris conz u.a » et même l’introduction je trouve que cette vidéo claque et même en mettant la vidéo au ralenti et en filment avec mon téléphone l’écran au ralenti je n’avoir pas à trouver la main gauche joué et elle est super intéressante ! Merci beaucoup :)

Au vu de ce que tu dis, j'imagine que tu as déjà visionné ma vidéo "quelques modèles pour la main gauche". Du coup, dès que j'aurai fini mon déménagement, je regarderai de plus près la vidéo de Stefan Ulbricht et reviendrait à toi! :)

PianoMusique oui c’est clairement mon style préféré depuis au moins 1 année , ça bouge et si on connaît les gammes blues et quelques patterns de main gauche on peut rapidement improviser sans que ça devienne ennuyant ^^ un grand merci pour ta nouvelle vidéo (j’ai vraiment scruté un paquet de vidéo qui présentaient des patterns de main gauche mais je ne suis jamais tombé sur celui que je cherchais :) et voilà que maintenant il y en une 🥳

Merci pour ton commentaire. Comme disait Chick Corea dans un de ses derniers concerts, le but d'un musicien est de s'améliorer toute sa vie, et il y a toujours de la marge pour progresser. Dans tous les cas la vidéo avait le but de montrer tous les sons du clavier, et c'est réussi.
@@PianoMusique je voulais pas vexer quiconque. Mais quand tu vois la démo du continental sur reverb, c'est pas tout à fait pareil : le mec te montre comment il fonctionne.

C'est intéressant que tu cites Reverb. Pour moi, comparer les deux vidéos a peu de sens. La leur est une vidéo de 5 minutes de démonstration, en expliquant le fonctionnement basique de l'instrument avec un but de convaincre un intéressé à acheter le clavier sur leur site. Ils ne vont pas hésiter à engager des "personnalités", à mettre plusieurs caméras pour embellir l'instrument, et surtout ils ne vont pas te dire les éléments négatifs du clavier. Il n'y a probablement que l'aspect financier derrière, ou presque. Après tout, Reverb est un grand revendeur d'instruments.
Pour ma part, je voulais juste aider les internautes avec une vidéo qui a uniquement pour but de montrer tous les sons, et je répète, c'est réussi.
Tu parles également qu'il fait de la musique, honnêtement je ne vois pas qu'est-ce qui t'a autant marqué dans quelques progressions d'accords (j'ai reconnu certes certains morceaux emblématiques comme celui de Steely Dan). Dans tous les cas tant mieux si leur video t'a plu, internet est rempli de vidéos gratuites pour tout le monde. Inutile de mettre trop de négativité dans tout ça, profitons juste du choix à notre disposition. :)

Jeu approximatif, erreurs d’harmonie ,aucune fluidité dans l’interprétation,on est sur des sons de vox,et on n’a même pas une petite démo dans l’esprit « Doors » ou « Animals », et mieux ,le gars a la prétention de donner des cours!?! Fuyez!
