@@SMOOREZ sorry to be a pain but I don’t have any social media accounts at all. All I have is this account and a steam account. The phone I’ll like to send is a iPhone 16 pro max.
@SMOOREZ , learning is always available! This is a speaker membrane with weight, so it uses the trapped air and the main driver’s air movement to generate deep sounds. Calling it passive radiator.
The weird 'tweeter' thing is just an internal audio baffle. The left side of the unit is a speaker box, and to help a bit with the lower bass, they installed a baffle. At least I think that is what it is...
I think the baffle is the bit on the front that separates the two sides of the driver. The little flapper bit is just a passive that theoretically improves bass response with JFM.
The “doohickey” is a Passive Bass Radiator. It’s kinda impressive (mostly amusing) that it has one, though I wonder how accurately it’s been implemented. Some portable Bluetooth speakers depend heavily upon these to fool you into thinking it has amazing bass response. It certainly can give you “more bass”, but definitely at the expense of fidelity.
I want smartphones to start offering changable batteries again. I like the having the freedom to just switch in another battery when my phone dies, rather than having to wait a couple of minutes for my phoen to charge enough to start up..
Thankfully fast charging has mitigated that for me for the most part. It's not as convenient as swapping in a fully charged battery but people forget how awful battery life was on early androids.
@@SimulatedGoat Don't get me wrong. I'm rarely away from a socket long enough that charging my phone is a real problem, and when I am, I have a portable battery pack with me. It's just not quite as conveniant as being able to just quickly swap a new battery in. From an environmental point of view, I'd like to see swappable batteries because it might persuade some people to just change their battery when it dies, rather than have to upgrade to the phone. I know they can get a new battery fitted, but this isn't always easy (try looking for someone to fit a battery to a kindle if you don't want to, or can't fit one yourself). Certainly not as easy as unclipping the battery cover, removing the old battery, putting a new one in and closing the cover.
Wow I really like this radio music player. I'm so glad you could change the operating language. Lol I've got to say yes I knew that Kate Bush song before Stranger things, which I've never watched. I was a big fan as a teenager. I had posters up on the ceiling of my bedroom ( no wall space). I still have the original vinyl albums and singles (45) Anyway back to this device. I am impressed by the sound reproduction. That Big Sperker is pretty decent, I do wonder how good it would sound using headphones. Plus it's bloody loud. Glad you are back and slowly getting back into the swing of things. Looking forward to the forthcoming reviews of the stuff you bought in Japan. ❤
welcome back! i really like this speaker, the bass, top and even some mids are all there. something i would like to have around. can't wait for all the stuff you found in japan
Smoorez!! Welcome back! That Ama thing's got a speaker that's too strong for its own good! It's really damn neat. It would be even better with two speakers. Also, if the voice recordings could have been of higher quality. But I don't know. That's $5 for ya. : ) WTH! It's neat, and I love gadgets like these.
What if instead of the screen and buttons it just has a right speaker there. And the buttons and screen are on the back and can be flipped to face forward like on a camcorder
Apparently we've all abandoned smoorez completely and unsubscribed from his channel for no posting..... Yeah joking aside it's great to see you back making stupidly long videos! WE HAVE MISSED YOU SMOOREZ! 😊
I also have a little radio but it has no brand, it's some sort of alarm clock/radio like the radio stuff is on the left and the clock on the right, someone wanted to throw it away because the volume rotary knob was loose, and i unscrewed the back of it and i saw that the screw was just loose so i just screwed it tight and it works just fine. It's some sort of Travel Alarm Clock Radio.
Someone bought me one from China at about 7-8 years ago (I think it is by Nontaus). It has the same interface and the same button layout. According to my sources, this appears to have a lyric display feature with an appropriate .lrc file for the song. In China, these radios are marketed for the seniors, and sometimes used with another SD card / USB preloaded with 1,000+ songs for entertainment use. The exact same unit are sold in a variety of brands, so it's an OEM device.
Great video first of all.The thing you saw is a bass reflector, its not electronic, so it dosent need power. It just uses the air flow coming from the speaker to create a more full sound, cause it beeing closed up completly would cause the speaker of sounding more tiny than it is. I hope this explains it, its like the 2 things on the sides on a jbl box
I remember using software SRS WOW 3D and 1st gen Beats Solo in CoD4:MW and it had the best explosions and gun sounds ever. I never heard of SRS WOW since these days.
Cool !! I bought someting similar for 10 Euro back in 2014. Same functions, but mine had "only" six buttons + a bigger *PASSIVE RADIATOR SPEAKER and it was made by a company called Mitian. After all this years the backlight display is very dim, the battery auto-drain himself for some reason and the FM radio reception is now mediocre. BUT the device still sounds GREAT (despite the only 5W speaker). *13:23
Welcome back 😀👍 I was watching a Hugh Jeffrey’s video about the mobile phone changes and banning go in on in Australia and wondered how it has affected your collection? Might be worth covering in a separate video? Given the number of new phones the carriers will be able to sell I can’t believe that this will become common round the world very soon.
I said it in the job lot, and I say it again. This had me face turn into stank mode, this is how well it sounded out of every sperker that you had on the channel.
Actions ATS2506, one of the later generation of S1 (Z80-based) media players. I thought it'd be Actions when I saw the UI, a ton of players from that era used that - especially the loading hourglass when it's booting up. NOBT in the firmware name is No Bluetooth, they presumably made a version that has Bluetooth too.
Am for music is low quality, not worth it, it could be still useful for emergency and other interesting signals in shortwave (that most radios don't have)
6:17 and 13:17 make me think they actually repackaged one of those generic dime a dozen s1 mp3 players and gave it a big sperker, creativity never ceases to amaze me ngl
Ahma means "Paternal Grandmother" in Fookien Chinese. Fookien is as Chinese language used spoken mostly in Xiamen, China. It is nearly extinct in mainland China, but still exists in Taiwan and the Philippines.
The "USB" at 5:30 is actually saying USB Sound Card! So, you could probably connect this up to a PC and use the Big Sperker with your PC There is a chance it may require a cursed USB-A to A connection
all of my cheap radios with a rechargable battery are all bl-5c's. there's an entire radio market for them too. it's a good battery if it lasts long enough. You might be better off getting a retekess v115 though, that gives you a micro sd card slot, and you can plug it into your PC and use it as a DAC, and a line in. plus it's all in english.
Might be too new to be supported by the existing s1 tools, unless there's some new developments I missed in the past few years. (I was in the s1 "scene" when ATJ209x and AK102x were the most common, and ATJ211x/213x were just starting to appear, and the latter didn't get any tools written for them AFAIK.)
