    Beautiful design but I think you should have made a full tang knife with wood panels on the sides to make the handle. Using the stone for the rivets is a beautiful touch to tie it all together

    I would love to see a viking style hand axe made out of basalt. It is a pretty stable stone, but quarts would be epic. Love the idea of stone artwork with modern tools, keep up the good work.

    Interesting. I do wonder about safety precautions. It may all be different with stone working tools, but compared with what I am used to seeing with wood work, you seem to be light on the after - holding the rock while you drill into the end, and pushing it through or past a blade with your fingers instead of a pusher. It seems pretty risky to me.

      While I have to admit that I cringe a bit when he gets that close to the business end of those kinds of tools having worked with them, I will say it's sometimes necessary or just more effective. Safety comes second to getting the job done in a lot of instances. Whether it should is arguable, but it's the way a lot of people view it. Some go their entire lives and never have an issue, and some end up missing digits.
      What really scares me is when I can see the stone jumping or climbing. Granted, they're grinding blades, but I've seen saws grab and mangle things out of nowhere, and it's not something you can plan for. All you can do is get out of the way.

    • @Osirus1972
      @Osirus1972 3 роки тому +11

      I have practically the same equipment and the saws (continuous rim) will not cut you unless you really force your hand/fingers onto it. Worse injury I got over many years was a bad manicure.

But I do see similar-ish tools. Please use a piece of wood when working with such small pieces on your table saw. No, I don't always have the safest work practices. But I do have all my digits at the age of 48. So my comment is merely a suggestion. You're making some really nice things with great energy! Keep it up! Thank You Sir for all your time and efforts!

    • @stillwalkergamesplus
      @stillwalkergamesplus 3 роки тому

      I don't think the thickness of the tang is the problem, id wager 2 months from the time when he made the knife if he's actually using it and washing it like its an normal knife that the adhesive is gonna let loose because its only a really short stone dowel holding the blade and the handle together plus the stain he used if its water based is actually toxic and doesn't seal or make the handle waterproof so its gonna act like a sponge and soak up all the bad bacteria and its gonna smell

Try to construct some device to clamp the stone body from above or modify the existing vise on your table.

      As I understand, a diamond saw like that is very unlikely to cut you. As someone who cut a good chunk out of his thumb with a table saw, I see cuts like this and cringe, but I have seen someone put their thumb directly on a rock saw blade as it was spinning. I dunno though, I don't have any hands-on experience with this type of tool. @Natural Stones, do you have an opinion on this?

    It is certain that the decree of God has come, do not ask for it to be hastened. Glory be to God and exalted above what they associate (1), He sent down the angels by bringing revelation with a command to whomever He wills among His servants that is warn by you all, That there is no god but Me, then let you fear Me (2), He created the heavens and the earth with truth, Exalted is God above what they associate (3), He created man from semen, suddenly he became a manifest disbeliever (4), And he has create livestock, for you; In it there are warm feathers there is benefit and part of it you eat (5), And you get a beautiful view of it, When you bring it to the stables and when you release it to the pasture (6), and it strikes your burden to a land that you are not able to reach it, except the hardships that weigh you down. Indeed, your Lord is truly Most Merciful and Most Compassionate (7), and He has created horses, mules and donkeys for you to ride and make ornaments. And Allah creates what you do not know (8), And Allah's right is for Allah to make clear the straight path and between the strays. And if He willed, He could have guided you all to the right path (9), He it is Who sends down water from the sky for you, some for you to drink and some for you to nourish.
    He causes you to grow therefrom your crops of olives, dates, grapes, and all kinds of fruits. Indeed, in that is the power of God for a people who think (11) He has subjected the night and the day, the sun and the moon to you, and the stars are controlled by His command indeed in that there are indeed signs of the greatness of God for people who understand (12), And He controls what is created for you on earth with various kinds and various colors, indeed in that it is indeed a sign of the greatness of God for people who take lessons (13), And it is He who subdued the sea for you, that you may get food fresh meat and fish from it. And from it you bring forth ornaments which you wear, you also see boats sailing on it, And you seek some of its bounties, And that you may be grateful (14), And He set the mountains on the earth lest the earth shake with you, and He created rivers rivers and roads that you may be guided (15), And He created signs to guide you and with the stars they are guided (16) So is the god who creates equal to him who does not create anything why do you not take heed (17 ), And if you count the favors of Allah, surely you will not be able to count them. Indeed, Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful (18), And Allah knows best what you conceal and what you reveal (19), And the idols of Satan, which they invoke other than gods can not create anything while the idols themselves are made by people (20),
    The idols are dead, lifeless, and they do not know when their worshipers will be resurrected (21), your Lord is the One God, Who created you. So those who do not believe in the Hereafter, their hearts deny the authority of God, and they are arrogant (22), There is no doubt that God knows what they keep secret and what they reveal and God does not like the arrogant (23) , And when it is said to them. What has your god sent down. They answered the fables of the ancients (24), Their speech will cause on the Day of Resurrection to bear their own sins perfectly and some of the sins of the sins they misled who do not know at all that they were misled, remember how bad the sins they bear (25 ), Indeed, those who commit deceit, Then God destroyed their houses from the foundation and then the house was ready to fall upon them from above, and the punishment came to them from a direction they did not realize (26), Then God humiliate them on the Day of Resurrection and say: "Where are the associates who, because they defended them, you always (enemies) (prophets) and (believers). Those who were given knowledge said:" Surely humiliation and This Day is inflicted on those who disbelieve (27), those whose lives have been taken away by the angels in a state of wrongdoing to themselves and then they blame themselves while said: "We have never pursued any evil. The angel replied: "Indeed, Allah is Aware of what you have done (28), so enter the gates of Hell to abide therein, surely it is as bad as the abode of the arrogant (29), And then it is said to the people Those who guard (against evil) say, "What has your Lord sent down?" They answer with good. For those who do good in this world is a good reward. And verily the abode of the hereafter is better, and that is the best abode for those who guard (against evil). 30),
    That is, the gardens of Adam which they enter, flowing under the rivers in that paradise they get whatever they want. Thus does Allah reward those who are pious (31),,,,,,,,,, That is, those who when the angels die in good condition. they the angels encourage them. Salamun alaikum, enter paradise because of what you have done (32), There are no disbelievers waiting for them except the coming of the angels to them or the coming of the command of your god. wronged themselves (33), so a punishment over which they used to mock (34), and the idolaters said: "If Allah willed, we would not have worshiped anything but him, neither we nor you. -Our father, Nor did we forbid anything without his permission. That is what people other than them do. Is it not the duty of the apostles only to convey the trust of God clearly (35), , , , Continue,,,,,,,, (Qs.Nahl).
    Hadith Abu Hurairah ra. Where he said: "One day the Prophet SAW. Being in the middle of the friends, then someone came to him and asked: "What is faith?". He replied: "Faith is that you believe in God and His angels, believe in the meeting with Him, and in the presence of His messengers, and you believe in the day of resurrection (after death)". He asked: "What is Islam?". He replied: "Islam is you who worship Allah and do not associate partners with Him, establish prayer, fulfill the obligatory zakat, and fast in the month of Ramadan". He asked: "What is Ihsan?". He replied: "You worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you can not (as if) see Him then (believe) that Allah sees you". He asked: "When is the Day of Judgment?". He replied: “People who are asked about the Day of Judgment do not know more than people who ask. But I will tell you of the signs (that is) when a maid gives birth to her master, when a herdsman of camels and cattle raced in the building; in five things do not know it except God ". Then the Prophet SAW. Reading the verse (which means): “Indeed, Allah, only with Him is the knowledge of the Hour; and He it is Who sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no one knows on earth where he will die. Lo! Allah is Knower, Knower. The person who asked then left, then he said: "it is Gabriel who came to teach people about their religion". you should have used natural wood oil to stain your handle plus the handle looks really ruff and uncomfortable to use unless you super big hands and your blade should have been alot sharper. theres almost no swedge and the back of the blade is really chunky thick. i like what your doing but you gotta refine it a bit more. i really think you could have made a full tang knife with a hardwood handle maybe hickory or even redwoood and oil stained the handle with danish wood oil or tung oil and it would have turned out AMAZING. suggestion maybe try making stone mallet or hatchet if sharpening is difficult you should try sharpening stones and sharpen it by hand so you can concentrate on not chipping if it helps they make really useful axe sharpening pucks one side is 2k grit and the other is 6k grit im sure the stone will go through the grit faster but it will most likely keep and edge longer.

    - humour arabe ..... -û- -°°°°
