We all know that feeling, I guess! I’ve found it helpful to think about what caused the mistake rather than the actual mistake. Was a tired or thirsty? Switching the focus like that helps me get my mind off the actual hand.
Seems to me a lot of players work more on declaring rather than defending. So might those players sneak above 50% with good cards, and drop below 50% with bad cards ???
Good point, Robert. There’s a slight difference, too, in that you’re often a little more in control of things when your side has the most strength. You tend to be the side that bids more and often declarer is the one dictating the flow of the play. Everyone is in the same boat, of course, but perhaps better players have more opportunity when there’s more to do. Having said that, defending is hard! Plenty of opportunity there, too. Heck! I don’t know!
Thank you for the bumper episode. Interesting hands today, explained so well.
Went on a bit longer than normal, didn’t it?!
Thanks for sharing!
Yes, I am definitely a rollercoaster! Unfortunately I often ruminate over my mistakes.

I’m an 86 year old rollercoaster - but sigh - never say die😅
The biggest problem I have is when I am playing and directing at the same time

What are the pitfalls to watch for if one plays garbage staymen
You can’t go too far wrong with it as long as you and your partner are on the same page!
