    About MLB.com: Former Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig announced on January 19, 2000, that the 30 Major League Club owners voted unanimously to centralize all of Baseball's Internet operations into an independent technology company. Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) was formed and charged with developing, building and managing the most comprehensive baseball experience available on the Internet. In August 2002, MLB.com streamed the first-ever live full length MLB game over the Internet when the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees faced off at Yankee Stadium. Since that time, millions of baseball fans around the world have subscribed to MLB.TV, the live video streaming product that airs every game in HD to nearly 400 different devices. MLB.com also provides an array of mobile apps for fans to choose from, including At Bat, the highest-grossing iOS sports app of all-time. MLB.com also provides fans with a stable of Club beat reporters and award-winning national columnists, the largest contingent of baseball reporters under one roof, that deliver over 100 original articles every day. MLB.com also offers extensive historical information and footage, online ticket sales, official baseball merchandise, authenticated memorabilia and collectibles and fantasy games.
    Major League Baseball consists of 30 teams split between the American and National Leagues. The American League consists of the following teams: Baltimore Orioles; Boston Red Sox; Chicago White Sox; Cleveland Indians; Detroit Tigers; Houston Astros; Kansas City Royals; Los Angeles Angels ; Minnesota Twins; New York Yankees; Oakland Athletics; Seattle Mariners; Tampa Bay Rays; Texas Rangers; and Toronto Blue Jays. Incredible to watch. Especially this version, with the final play without John Smoltz talking about Gary Sanchez and the Yankees.

    This was a hell of a job of Astros pitchers getting out of jams and the defense making some great plays. Morton enters and lets the first two guys on, and then a run comes in later in that inning, and he ends up settling down and finishing the game. Pretty amazing. Congrats Astros!

      He designed the cheating system. That's the reason he was not a first ballot Hall of Famer. Statistically he deserved it, but he is unclean. The MLB Report of the investigation of Astros cheating made it clear - the Astros cheated during the regular season and "throughout the Postseason" in 2017. img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/upload/mlb/cglrhmlrwwbkacty27l7.pdf

    Watched every game of the '17 Series hoping desperately the Astros would take the W. I had my doubts when LA squeeked the win in game 6 but when Springer lead off game 7 with a stand up double to left he gave the Astros a new spark that kept them going all night. I felt bad for McCullers. I know he was not trying to hit 4 batters. My hat is off to Turner for being such good sport. Getting hit twice in the same game by the same pitcher must be a record, at least in a World Series.

  • @adamcheek2244

    Easily one of the best World Series I've ever watched in my lifetime, probably tied with last year for the best. Loved seeing the Astros win their first title, and great to see these incredibly likable players perform at this level and take home a championship. Also, on some levels, glad to see the Dodgers lose, as in the fact that I'm a Cubs fan, the fact that Puig is incredibly immature, and some of the LA fans' "we're gonna wreck Houston worse than Harvey" comments. Two of the best games in WS history, as well. What a series. What a team. What a performance. Congratulations, Astros!!

      I'll tell you this. I think from a competitive and dramatic standpoint, 2017 beats 2016. But from a historical standpoint as well as Game 7, 2016 gets the nod.

I couldn’t watch the game because of work and I didn’t wanna see any of the footage because it hurt so much losing game 7. • @rizon72
      @rizon72 6 років тому +5

      I don't know, for me the make it or break it point of the game was the bottom of the 1st and 2nd. Dodgers had runners on and failed to score a single run. Bases loaded in the bottom of the 1st, a single scores 1-2 runs, double could score 3 and the game is complete different. The Astros ability to shut down the Dodgers in those two innings was key.

    • @gfox9295
      @gfox9295 6 років тому

      +guitarsANDcars39 that's very true... but the Astros only scored 1 run in game 6. But that one wasn't make or break, they were glad to have the 3-2 lead coming back to LA for sure.
      Game 6/7 were basically a back and forth, add 'em together and it's Houston 6-4 but... really more of a cancel each other out pair of games 3-1 and 5-1.... so that leaves Game 2 and Game 5 as the true difference. Two close, long, extra innings games that the Astros managed to pull a win off in both of... so close.

    • @hermunkulus
      @hermunkulus 6 років тому +1

      How about blowing a 4-0 lead in game 5? If they win that, they're up 3-2 going back to LA with momentum.

  • @Korijenkins1414
    @Korijenkins1414 6 років тому +2

    Blame Bellinger, Dodgers fans. If not for his error, Springer is at 3rd, Bregman is out. Now of course Altuve would've still scored Springer, but then you have Gurriel leading off, instead of McCann, who took a walk, followed by Marwin's double.
    Obviously theres no way to know what would've happened afterwards, but Bellinger's error was the catalyst to everything that went wrong, not Yu Darvish.

    • @drbryant23
      @drbryant23 Рік тому

      He can take some solace in the fact that they were cheating during his appearances in the World Series. It’s extremely obvious. Even at dodger Stadium, there are anomalies in that game that can only be explained by cheating. Yu Darvish, who has the best strike out ratio among right handers in major league baseball history, could only get one swing and miss on any of his offspeed pitches. In his prior appearance against the Astros in June of 2017, before the cheating started, he allowed only one hit in seven innings. But, suddenly the Astros could lay off every off speed pitch. The only two games in his entire career in which there were no strikeouts recorded of the two World Series games against the Astros. Highly improbable. In game 7, Yuli Gurriel, who saw the fewest pitches per plate appearance in all of MLB in 2017, ends up working a 13 pitch at bat against Darvis. That is also statistically highly improbable. In the same first inning, Alex Bregman, who has stolen only two bases in the last three years, somehow feels confident enough to steal third base for the first time and only time in his career. That’s not improbable; it’s impossible without cheating. The game is so tainted, that it’s not even baseball and Darvish can hold his head up high.

The Astros needed the Dodgers to give them a challenge while the Dodgers needed the Astros to give them a war since the D-Backs and Cubs couldn’t do it. There is a reason Darvish got traded to the Dodgers...

    • @drbryant23
      @drbryant23 2 роки тому

      Darvish has the highest career K/9 rate in MLB history (that's right History). The Astros swung and missed at only ONE offspeed pitch in the WS. In over 200 career games, he has only failed to record a strikeout twice - the two WS games against the Astros. Lifetime against the Astros outside of the '17 Series, his average is 11K's per 9. Yuli Gurriel, who sees among the fewest pitches/AB in the MLB, has a 13 (!!) pitch at bat against Darvish, fouling off anything near the strike zone. Bregman, a guy who has 30 or 40 steals in his entire career, somehow feels confident enough to steal THIRD in the first inning of Game 7 of the World Series. in The Astros knew what pitches were coming; there is no other explanation. That's why Beltran spread the "rumor" that Darvish was tipping his pitches. To anyone who understands baseball, it's too obvious.

    Thats what you get for having a pitcher who got touched up in game 3 start a crucial game 7 with everything on the line and not taking him out early Should of yanked him out after he gave up the first run common this is a game 7 you don't leave him in. Should of went with Wood or Kershaw to start.Bad managing and inability to score runs leaving runners stranded on base and swinging at bad pitches costed them the Series. Congrats to the Astros.

      Dodgers are a great team, their fans shouldn't be upset or embarrassed, they were so close and they'll be good for years to come with more chances to win it all. Baseball is a beautiful game.

    Darvish is my favorite pitcher in current baseball, but they should have started Kershaw. LA would have won game seven.

      I don’t think you should’ve started Kershaw on two days rest because that might’ve hindered his performance and no one starts a game on two days rest anymore. I think Wood should’ve started the LA instead. Get three innings and then go to Kershaw.

      Yes. He did indeed throw it. The ball, that is... right over the plate. A few too many times.

    This is so tainted that I can smell it from here, four years later. 1:31. Bregman stealing third in the first inning. This is a guy who has stolen ONE base in the three years since the cheating was revealed. He obviously Knew an offspeed pitch was coming. It’s really not even baseball at that point.

      @@1aggiesrule I don't think Astros fans need to cry or be sad at this point. 2017 is forever tainted, but their 2022 Season was played straight up without cheating and the organization, the players and the fans can be proud of that season. Unlike 2017, where cheating led to the team increase in batting average from .240 to .280 (!), in 2020, the team batting average was back down to .240, but they won with pitching and defense. The team, the fans, the organization call all be proud that they won straight up without cheating, unlike 2017 which will always be remembered as the year of the cheating.

      @@iamjobu6101 I don't agree - a bad act shouldn't be blamed on the victim. That's like blaming the parents for allowing their kids to be molested by Catholic priests. Or rape victims for wearing lipstick. Or for poor law enforcement allowing Central American cartel members to enter the United States.

      @@iamjobu6101 mwebtex Regarding Darvish “tipping”. That was made up by Beltran to try to give a reason for statistical anomalies in Game 7 that can only be explained by cheating. The MLB Report of the investigation of Astros cheating made it clear - the Astros cheated during the regular season and "throughout the Postseason" in 2017. img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/upload/mlb/cglrhmlrwwbkacty27l7.pdf
      In August of 2017, Kevin Goldstein, Astros Executive sent an email to their scouts to request ways in which they could steal signs from the crowd, rather than from a camera feed, which was an effort to refine their cheating away from Minute Maid (where they would not have needed such assistance because they were using the home camera).
      "One thing in specific we are looking for is picking up signs coming out of the dugout," Goldstein wrote in the message. "What we are looking for is how much we can see, how we would log things, if we need cameras/binoculars, etc. So go to game, see what you can (or can't) do and report back your findings."
      If you saw Game 7 at Dodger Stadium, it was pretty clear that he was successful. Bregman stole THIRD for the only time in his life, and Gurriel, who averages the fewest pitches per plate appearance in the entire MLB over his career, has a THIRTEEN pitch at bat, casually sitting back on all off speed stuff and fouling it off. And, of course it was later confirmed by Evan Gattis that the Astros knew what Darvish was throwing on each pitch.
      Of course they cheated against Darvish. Darvish, who owns the highest K ration among right-handers in MLB history and who has a lifetime 11.8 K/9 against the Astros, and who six months earlier (before the cheating began) held these same Astros to ONE hit on seven innings at Minute Maid - suddenly couldn’t get any swings and misses.
      You’d better believe that after cheating all year, against teams like the White Sox that lost nearly 100 games, there were not going to stop cheating in Game 7 of the Worl
