Me and this dude got the same mindset when it comes to Home studios literally down to the mastering style desk more people gotta realize you can get super high quality gear just like big studios and make your own setup

Very interesting choice of Monitor selection from our friends across the pond. A ton of I/O on the Hilo I almost had to look at the back of mine lol! I get it! 🤭🙌 I really like this setup and his mentality.

awesome setup man. I've been slimming down my setup over the last few years too. ATC25s with a good sub, powerful computer, and good room treatment. Can't ask for much more!

Oh by the way, tell him Hilo has an edge over Aurora. Keep Hilo! I got both and done tests. Lynx also told me Hilo 2 is mostly new screen and marketing lol
Nice! Do you use the Aurora or Aurora (n)? I heard the Aurora (n) actually has a better clock, but the conversion is supposedly still better on the Hilo as you stated.
@@TheRealKeyMusic Yes, I use Hilo for Mastering and monitoring, Aurora 32 channels (n TB3) to hook up vocals, stems and rest of gear! I use a 10M clock so couldn’t tell. Overall Hilo is a beast. I also have a Prism converter - Hilo beat Prism in width and depth. Prism is thick and fat but narrow.

Haha Yeah you're right. I kinda compare it to huge studios with alot of gear that dont even use the gear, this is more like everything he has he uses but of course of extreme quality. So in that perspective it is minimalistic.

Just a note - Key's MUM-8s are running an old version of the DSP and so measurements, particularly in the phase area, are cleaner on the newer DSP. We'll get you updated ASAP!
Regarding the puck in the front of the baffle - this is to allow the tweeter to be placed above the mid when the speakers are in horizontal orientation - we originally planned for it to be a port but we much preferred the performance of the sealed cabinet operation.
And yes, diamond mids AND tweeters are in the works!

The dimensions of the room are definitely not the most ideal and yet the speakers still perform at the top level! Can't wait to see what's next for all of us! Still excited for the sub stands!

Hey bro it looks like theres carpet on the floor im surprised its not making the room sound dull , i see people bitching on every forum tht carpet will never work in studio can you enlighten on the floor ?
I will say full carpet does make it sound dull a bit but i always like a small carpet in the mixing area

Speakers arent supposed to be on when you record bruv. You monitor through the headphones.
