NICE JOB with this video. Good quality footage, but because of the way it is set up/presented I enjoyed it much more than so many others on the subject. One thing this video has that others do not, is the freeze frame with the riders names BEFORE the action starts. This allows the viewer to follow the action and know who and what he's looking at. Well done! Why didn't anybody else do that?
Glad that Rodger had alot of input into these works Hondas. He was a smart rider, conserving every chance that was afforded. The bike he rode in this race was so dialed to the terra firma a B classer on it would've looked like a pro.
I lived in Vista ten miles away. On Sundays you could hear the 500s go off. It was a roar like a jet taking off then it quit at the first turn. I finally figured out what the hell it was.
Just in case anyone has forgotten how rough a track can be and how bad it beats the bike and body..... There's a gentle reminder right there in that video
why couldnt all the retired RICH guys like johnson glover lackey bailey emig and all the others rally together to save Carlsbad track why didnt they just buy the land ?they could have made their money back by now run local races and special races and we would still have the awesome track with all its history -all those guys made money off racing at the Carlsbad course it seems they could have saved their own backyard especially RJ RL and ward and other CAli racersthey are all rich and forgot
I enjoyed the first 3 minutes and would certainly enjoy the rest if it weren't for that damn crappy music. I'd rather hear the sound of the bikes as faint as it might be. You ruined a nice piece of art right there
Back in the day! Thanks for the ride on the way back machine! The sound track is a real groove!
Remember watching this on Wide World of Sports 👏
Can you even imagine having a day like Marty Moates had that day!!!!????
it was amazing. Local guy shocks the world! : )
Had a bunch of em...but not on that crappy dirt...deep sand

The greatest day in American Motocross
Fantastic... Best era video I've seen to date.

Marty Moates was the king for the day.
I live 30 mins from ponca mx. It's hard slick like Carlsbad. Guy cooper schooled everyone when it was slick muddy
These were the real mx racers

Funny I don't remember Roger riding for Honda. I must of been at the 79 Carlsbad USGP

Very unusual to have Glover running the #1 plate in a 250 race...
Ah Carlsbad concrete. The only other track more hard pack…Saddleback
Roger walking like Bigfoot across the track :)
Who runs this channel?
That early gopro was in a very bad position.

Real easy for you to solve the problem with other people's money isn't it?

Do you suppose it's possible his cam corder didn't have a mic?
