@spasmaticbarnicle I think it was because it's on AOL and AOL likes the performers to sound perfect. It's either prerecorded tracks they lip-sync to or they Autotune. It wasn't the bands choice. But i agree, there is no need for an autotuner with MCS
You can definitely hear imperfections in his voice, but he's still amazing. Even if there is some sort of voice modification, he's still amazing. I personally would have liked to have been there when they recorded that. But I'll stop spamming @TheRocketAnse. Thanks so much for putting this video up man. Peace.
@KingOfOldTrafford one of the ways you can tell is the glide between notes. a human being has to stop singing and start again to change pitch perfectly, otherwise there is usually a subtle but noticeable glide as the voice moves between the notes, but when auto tuned, the glide is overdefined and sometimes completely deadened. so the voice "steps" up and down instead of sliding. listen to someone with heavy pitch correction (ala t-pain or jason derulo) you will hear what im talking about
@BoredOutofOurMinds1 I agree with you that Justin's voice has gotten alot better over their career, he has an awesome voice. This has definitely got some pitch correction on it though, which is fine, it compliments his voice if anything, as it does when used on Artists that have great natural voices anyway. I like when its used tastefully.
@NZRand0m you would be correct sir. and although this is technically "live", it was recorded so it could be mixed. chances are they tuned the vocals in mixing. i've tuned enough vocal tracks to be able to pick it out haha, those harmonies lock in too damn well. love this band, but the fact is every major release more likely than not has tuned vocals. its only when its audible to the average ear that people whip out the claws and start judging haha
Ok, once and for all, his voice is not auto tuned. No matter what you might think, it is very possible for the human voice to do that. It just takes practice and Justin has been in the music business for a while. His voice has gotten so much better since the beginning of their career. But it really doesn't matter. The song is amazing, and the "lalala"'s are hilarious, and just symbolize what MCS (Not MCT @angmarcos1) is. They can be dark, but they're light-hearted by nature. Anyway, MCS forever!
@NZRand0m Yeah...no. There was no autotune there. His voice wavered. Having seen them many times live, they need no vocal correction. And while there are devices available to "autotune" live, the actual Autotune effect plug-in is a piece of software for use in the studio after a track is recorded, and would not be practical for live applications. The man can simply sing.
@ApathyTree I wasn't either. Interesting story.....some friends and I saw them about two weeks ago and after the show one of my friends was talking to their bass player and he asked about that part with the kazoo sound.....and it ends up they got that sound by shouting into a broken acoustic electric guitar....so yeah....explains the lalalalala's. Peace and love.
See how there's two mics? The one on his right is for the autotune and the silver-headed one is the one that has no correction on it. They used autotune for the "lalalala"s
There is definitely something going on with the higher falsetto notes, as though the engineer at AOL thought he needed to take care of those bits, but the lower register things there's a ton of imperfect notes, strange. but this whole video audio track has this odd phasing effect on it so I'm not convinced one way or the other
@BoredOutofOurMinds1 I'm sorry to say this, but it IS autotuned, but in subtile way. But yes, Justin's voice has gotten better! He'll always be my favorite lead singer.
It's not autotune, it's pitch correction there is a whole lot of difference. And for the record on album EVERY professional singer uses pitch correction.
@GUITARandHOCKEY94 have u also thought that justin is that great of singer now when he does aucostic he sucks cause he strains all the time but when he sings with the band thats how he always sounds hes that good
i really love this song, but not how AOL made then autotune, and you can really tell cuz his voice is naturally more rough, and if you've ever heard it without autotune, you know what i mean. but i really love the "LALALALALALALA" hehe.....
This song is really hard for Justin to sing, it's also being played a few keys lower. It's still a shame they chose to use AT for this, I've seen MCS live and quite frankly Justin doesn't need autotune.
@deesteenson don't like to say this, but it's autotuned all the way.. And that's why it sounds so perfect. But Justin is still a freaking great leadsinger!
A whole lotta wrong in that comment. Autotune is one of many pitch correction tools out there. And every professional singer uses pitch correction? How on earth did you manage to be in studio for every single mixing session of every professional singer since the invention of pitch correction? That's the only way you could know that. But seriously, I'm sure most do, but to think they all do, is absurd. What would be the point of pitch correcting a vocalist with perfect pitch? They do exist.
I wonder how his Japanese is goin...

great performance by an amazing band! I loved Matt's revenge of the nerds Lamda Lamda Lamda fraternity shirt! Miss them so much.
Great band, can hear a bit of pitch correction on Justin's voice but it still sounds decent 😊
perfect backin vocals as well
justin and matt sound fuckin awesome in the chorus
@DDRaHolic They're touring right now, I got to see them and they were amazing.
half step down and it still sounds good X3
Wonderful sound!
simply perfect

oh my god this is amazing!!!!!!!!!! you can hardly tell its autotuned most of the time though
@BoredOutofOurMinds1 I agree with you that Justin's voice has gotten alot better over their career, he has an awesome voice. i wasn't expecting the "lalalalalalalalaa" during the riffs. made me lol xD
awesome

"It's all my fucking fault!"
Favorite part of the song.
Can't wait to see them play in Phoenix!!!
This band getting better and better :)
i love the music of these guys because LALALALALALALA
@deesteenson it's AOL sessions so it all gets mixed after words so thats why it's so perfect :) fucking amazing band!

@NZRand0m

@sasukeroxz "My parents keep asking when you're planning on coming around" is really obvious.
@wizzy142 no justin (lead vocals) and matt (bass)
@PunkAudio Long live Blink and MCS
See how there's two mics? The one on his right is for the autotune and the silver-headed one is the one that has no correction on it. They used autotune for the "lalalala"s
@jehano1 oh i i thought you meant the part where josh and matt were like "lalalalalalalalalala" but yea i see wat u mean now
@ApathyTree lol well were u expecting them to pull out kazoos? :P
Why the autotune? it's really messing with harshness that I love!!!
Social Colision All AOL sessions have it. Probably not the band's choice
You love people singing bad? Interesting...
@killmaster5596 noo wayy, I thought they used an electric kazoo or something?
@Greenie369 they also compress the crap out of the drums
they are so good not even trolls dislike this video :)
does anyone have the version of "Disappear" of this live? I like it very much but just ironacly disappear of youtube XD
There is definitely something going on with the higher falsetto notes, as though the engineer at AOL thought he needed to take care of those bits, but the lower register things there's a ton of imperfect notes, strange. but this whole video audio track has this odd phasing effect on it so I'm not convinced one way or the other

OMG THE LALALALALA THING AW xD

Note to self: Always carry around a kazoo.
like 10 times better than the album version!
@wizzy142no but that sounds cool 2 :)
@Ramsimation there's another Justin? ive only heard of this one :3
@sethcenterbar i was thinking the exact same thing haha
i really love this song, but not how AOL made then autotune, and you can really tell cuz his voice is naturally more rough, and if you've ever heard it without autotune, you know what i mean. but i really love the "LALALALALALALA" hehe.....

@deesteenson Ha ha...yeah, there's a reason it's perfect. ;)
I want a lambda lambda lambda t-shirt.
@deesteenson don't like to say this, but it's autotuned all the way.. And that's why it sounds so perfect. But Justin is still a freaking great leadsinger!
@jehano1 do you mean matt and josh?
I fell asleep watching Veronica Mars again.
@deesteenson Breaks my heart to tell you this, but he's using autotune. AOL insist on it, but he wouldn't normally.
look at the guy on keybord lol
there is no autotune, LightspeedJack said what it is, auto tune is totally different
@deesteenson definitely not just you
@evenstevens280 whens the autotune?

@deesteenson Autotune.
aol sessions= auto tune. mcs doesn't need it!
A whole lotta wrong in that comment. Autotune is one of many pitch correction tools out there. And every professional singer uses pitch correction? @notquitesane131 yeah...It's bad. Really bad.
@standingontruth1 why are you posting this here. maybe it's offensive to me cause I don't believe in god. keep it to yourself
The synth players player must get so bored haha
Cool performance, the Autotune is soooo obvious... too bad!
lol the auto tuning is obvious through the whole thing.
are you people deaf?
"I finally shaved off that beard"
Ruined the song for me
Auto tune sounds AWFUL!!
Too much autotune :-(
Love MCT Hate Autotune
