As I was walking by with a load of laundry I heard strange conversation coming from an empty bedroom other than the budgies! As I peeked around I saw our budgies that we've had for 3 years talking to each other in the English language! If you love them enough and pay attention to them enough they will start to speak and it is so amazing! Thank you!

I was wondering if I can surrender it to a Petco that's near by? The PetSmart I bought the bird from is 10 hours away and I don't have the time to make that trip but there is a Petco 2 hours away... Would I be able to surrender it there? I'm hysterical right now and overwhelmed because I feel ashamed I'm giving it back but I do need advice immediately

They certainly like the phone sound. :D What I like most is how active and happy they are. It is always wonderful to see birds and animals of all types receiving the love and care they need.
My birds also used to do that, just leave the cage door open all the time and try to get them out sometimes. If they calm down and get used to their environment they will stop. Also, if they are from a big pet store they were probably two months or so when you got them and might not know how to fly in a bigger space then the cage.
You must spend lots of time with your little birds and it shines through in how bright and happy they are. It's quite an accomplishment how you helped Pixel blend right in and that he is talking so clearly at such s young age. How old is Pixel now and how old are parakeets when they are full grown? You are an excellent parakeet dad.
Thank you for taking the time to share your beautiful parakeets with us. I found a composition in my daughters folder and she said that she wished for a parakeet. So we bought her one for her 10th birthday and she named him Chester. Within 2 weeks he ways saying his name and soon after was saying full sentences. That was many years ago. Now that we are retired I wanted a little companion and a few weeks ago we bought Skyler. He isn’t speaking yet but I’m so encouraged to keep trying.
I love how patient you are with them and love them. I wish I’d known all this when I had my bird many years ago. He was 13 when he died and only said cheeky bugger and beauty bird. Beauty was his name. I could have done so much more than if I’d known how 🤭he passed before internet came 😖
I love how they listen to you! They can be running around and making all sorts of sounds but as soon as you start talking they stop and listen. They are so cute and smart!

Thank you for sharing! My bird is learning to say “pretty bird” right now. It’s a little hard to understand him because most of the times he sings when it’s very noisy or he’s next to the sink when the water in falling :’D

It i bad enough I am carrying on with med to larger parrots. I recently bought three parakeets long story and am enjoying them as much as my larger birds. It is so much fun to make toys for them and hear them chattering about. I love this video and they are very cute and so is your effort!

Just Andreea just put your finger on the cage and speak softly to him and tell him you won't hurt him and put your finger in his cage every once and a while until he's comfortable with you but if not leave him in his cage
Andreea, I have a bit of advice! If you have one parakeet, that’s great for this method! Relax a bit, and start from the other side of the room from the cage. Talk to your parakeet in a normal voice, and don’t sound angry or frustrated. Each day move closer and closer to its cage and continue talking. Eventually stick your hand in its cage, then hand feed it, until it’s grown so used to you that you can put your hand gently on its stomach so it can step up.

@@oreocakester4307 A bird with clipped wings can still fly pretty well. Also wing clipping can cause muscle tension which can have long term effects
