Optoma is the second ever projector Ive bought and I love it! It replaces the tv for me. My current one is not 720p so getting a 1080p projector will be absolutely fantastic!! Ive been thinking of getting a short throw projector like GT1080 and saw this! The Hz is so good and I might plan on getting this one in a year or two!
"Reflected light from the projector instead of direct light, can minimize direct blue light exposure" Just perfect for my eye condition :) I can play games again
I know Im asking randomly but does anybody know a way to get back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost my password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Jordan Toby Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
i wonder do you guys tweak setting so your GPU output (any close to) 120hz 1080p ... ignoring that result to an 120hz chip look less than what he actually capable !
I bought this projector a few months ago (Optoma hd29hlv) and it's stated that it's 4k ready but I don't get what this exactly means. When I connect the projector with my computer then the projector recognise a 4k signal but series on Netflix as example are still in Full HD. Am I missing something? Just FYI: I didn't buy it because of 4k.
We have been advised when you open netflix it will display in full HD but it will automatically detect 4K and HDR content when something starts playing, which means you can miss the first 10 seconds of whatever you're watching. This said we would ensure what your using supports 4K (ie. chromecast ultra + netflix account that supports ultra HD) and wait for the content to start playing first. The windows 10 app and Microsoft Edge for Windows support ultra HD, chrome does not support it. Hope that this helps explain a little better. -GH.
100" screen equivalent - that's just insane for 120Hz refresh and 8.4 ms response. This would have to be great for cinematic games, like perhaps the Witcher series, No Man's Sky and such. I'd love to see my recent Tomb Raiders and also the Lord of the Rings games with that HDR on a 8'+ screen :)
I love the lamp life and 3D support for many many movie nights and gaming sessions! Personally I'd have a Horde Mode marathon taking on the Locust Hordes!
Thanks for a great review with examples included. The HD29H looks like a great projector with its high brightness and HDR. Although it isn't 4K output, it's a reasonable compromise with having 120Hz refresh instead. For a 100" screen with 120Hz and HDR, I would probably play a racing game first, maybe Forza Horizon 4 or F1 2018.
Entered loads of competitions to win an Optoma Projector from Scan and honestly I would love one as would be great to game on with the whole family but Price wise I wouldn't have the spare cash to spend on one.
It looks like a nice little option for those wanting to get a larger viewing area for games and movies without being stuck with a big TV or monitor. I would probably use this more for multiplayer games with my mates at home. Something like Halo or Mariocart!
120Hz low input lag and HDR?! That's pretty insane they got that baked down into a projector for under £1k - who wouldn't want to play on that beast :D Personally I would play any of the new Tomb Raider games, Anthem and/or The Division 2, since they're all visually pleasing games :)
It looks amazing. Imagine playing some of the latest graphical beasts with this projecting all of it. Games like Metro Exodus, Anthem etc. would be super cool from this projector. Holy cow!
Would love this for my man-cave in new house. It looks really useful, especially with the 3400 ANSI lumens, my old projector is too dark , safer than a tv for when I use VR and would play a host of pc games, Anthem might be my first game to try.
The 144Hz on the GT1080 is the output for the 3D. it only takes a 60Hz input from the HDMI and then increases it to add smoothness to a video. This doesnt work for gaming. The HD29H can accept a 120Hz input and display it which is very good for gaming :)
Great to see HDR, 120 Hertz featured on a midrange projector.
i love how you guys always pay so much details to reviewing stuff like comparing it to a slightly different product 👍🏻👍🏻 good work
imagine playing far cry or battlefield on that!
I thank you guys for always giving away stuff so those less fortunate can have a chance to own some really cool stuff. Keep up the good work!
I think this is the first projector that is classified "gaming" But still an amazing video! Keep it up!
iv always fancied a projector but never been convinced about the colour/contrast/brightness quality
Never knew a projector could be so sharp! Great video
Projector actually really good for gaming seeing how smooth it can run games tbh
The picture quality is fantastic. Actually pretty impressed with this projector.
so were we. its fantastic :)
Looks great, I have my current projector on the ceiling. Has this guy decent lens shift?
Hi ! Nice video ! One question, which is the difference between hd29h and hd29he? Thanks !

Impressive specs, to be honest what wouldn't look good at 120fps on your wall?
the 4k comparisons and the smooth gameplay are very impressive
Thank You for the competition, Scan!
A huge leap from the projectors used in schools these days.
Nice vid btw.
Nice review - projectors are something I've never really thought of before, but man this sounds pretty decent.
That picture quality looks so good!
Which one to buy, confused between optoma HD29H vs 1080darbee
"Reflected light from the projector instead of direct light, can minimize direct blue light exposure" Just perfect for my eye condition :) I can play games again

@Jordan Toby it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thank you so much you really help me out !
@Marley Colin glad I could help =)
Thanks for the video review. Would like to see your thoughts on the new Optoma HD39HDR that just came our and how it compares
Projectors are the next big things after monitors???
thanks for your review I was searching for a projector for me and that can help my family for any occasion. I have ordered let see how it goes.
Godfather Das please come back and let us know what you think!
Another great projector for gaming but you need a patch of wall to project onto. We don't have that much spare wall to use.
Amazing specs guys - what a projector
That projector mixed with a huge screen would make the worlds best home entertainment centre.
You have the best tech and I love watching you show it
Best computer literate channel on yt💕
woow, what a cool projector and incredible review
does the gt1080HDR do the 4k inpute accept as the HD29H?
like I said on other video -never even thought of projector for gaming . but do I need to buy white screen? looked like one in video .
you can project on to any wall, there is even settings for the colour of the wall!, however a white wall or screen will give you the best picture.
Fantastic prize! I can only imagine how immersive games would be on this thing!
Thanks for the chance! really great product!
i wonder do you guys tweak setting so your GPU output (any close to) 120hz 1080p ... ignoring that result to an 120hz chip look less than what he actually capable !
Would be nice to have one of these for family movie nights or gaming sessions with friends
I hope no more limit number of hours for the lamp.
That projector looks awesome, great response time.
Thanks Optoma and Scan, and good luck everyone
Pretty rad piece of tech! Time to repaint the wall!
Best of all they made a short throw version of the ud29h called the same with st at the end!!
The 120 Hz projector!!! This is AMAZING!!!
As long as you're not sitting too close the faster response time makes up for the quality compared to the slower 4k.
nice upgrade from the older one! I'd play open world games, or fun split screen games with friends, gaming on 100" screen would be fun!
projectors are pricey these days but you helped me decide in 2019. :)
That's definitely an amazing projector, huge screen and a high level performance, definitely the best to use.
looks beast, love playing racing games on my projector with my Logitech g29
great piece of kit - a great review guys
Great review. This would be cool to have in my lounge!
I would love to use it for fortnite!
This is definitely a game changer. I'd love to be watching some movies on it and of course playing games. Any game would look amazing!

Awsome projector! Would fit well on the wall here for sure.
this was a great review, thank you
Thanks! :)
looks stunning, would happily be playing driving games on this
Impressive refresh rate, as well as the other specs. Using this for movies would be unreal. I'd love to play the upcoming Anno 1800 on this projector.
This is one beast of a Projector.
This is pretty revolutionary for projectors tbh, I remember back when they could only run at 30hz, times change fast!
Imagine having a movie night with friends with this! Or playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Awesome!
Smooth performance and good portability.
Great allrounder, excellent for playing games; any games.

This looks like it´s off the charts!!!
I have never owned a projector, but have always been interested. This looks like a very good one. I would love to test it in person.
The quality is just awesome! that scene from Star Wars.... it seems real!
if only you could see it in real life :)
Ultra fast frame rate - wow, that smoothness on the slow mo - brilliant. Would be brilliant for playing Overwatch
My next DLP must offer 120 Hz FullHD, this seems to be a good projector for gamers now. But all hardware needs to be HDMI 2.0 compatible I think.
hdmi 1.4a supports 1080p up to 144hz so 1.4a+ should be sufficient. hdmi 2.1 is required for 4k 60hz though.
Well done review, never considered a projector for gaming before
Looks so sick for gaming, new experiences
Entered loads of competitions to win an Optoma Projector from Scan and honestly I would love one as would be great to game on with the whole family but Price wise I wouldn't have the spare cash to spend on one.
Wonder if is quiet enough to play fort nite or red dead redemption in the night
its very quiet. :)
looks great, i think i might buy
Amazing, a gaming focused projector - love it.
I'd love this, putting a screen on whichever wall you want! No wall mounting required :)
It looks like a nice little option for those wanting to get a larger viewing area for games and movies without being stuck with a big TV or monitor. I would probably use this more for multiplayer games with my mates at home. Something like Halo or Mariocart!
Will be nice to have one. Thanks a lot SCANs for your Amazing Giveaways!
God, this would be sick for hangoouts with friends
Never considered a projector before but this is swaying me. For Honor would be pretty cool on this
Difference between the UHD300X and HD29H is pretty incredible
I still play the old games like Quake and Splinter Cell, which I'm sure will still look great on this projector.
Gaming Projector looks amazing!
The 4k looks amazing, great review. I think my husband would be playing RD2 or my kids Minecraft.
Broforce would pair nicely for those game nights with family.
Nice to see 120 Hz refresh rate on a projector. Wondering how could be gaming with it 🤔
If I had this project I would love playing and zombie of marvel inspired games which would make you then feel more included in the games
What an awesome projector!
Gaming on a projector would be an amazing new experience for me!
120Hz low input lag and HDR?! That's pretty insane they got that baked down into a projector for under £1k - who wouldn't want to play on that beast :D

awesome projector, optoma good job.
Would love this for my man-cave in new house. It looks really useful, especially with the 3400 ANSI lumens, my old projector is too dark , safer than a tv for when I use VR and would play a host of pc games, Anthem might be my first game to try.
looks amazing, id so play EVERY DAMN THING on it! thanks for the op!
Would use this for solo games, racing games for an immersive gameplay experience.
The picture quality look really good
Got a dated Optoma HD72 this would be so cool!
I love the 8.4ms response rate! I would have division 2 running in full 100" glory
Amazing gaming projector. My husband would love it! He would play The Division.
but gt1080 is 144 htrz refresh so a little confused by the comparison saying its 60
The 144Hz on the GT1080 is the output for the 3D. it only takes a 60Hz input from the HDMI and then increases it to add smoothness to a video. This doesnt work for gaming. The HD29H can accept a 120Hz input and display it which is very good for gaming :)
@@ScanComputers so its like up scaling Hz? Does it have any effect outside of 3d or is it turned off?
@@benjamin7871 Yes thats correct. Its only used for 3D on the GT1080. The HD29H was the first projector to support 120Hz input.
I've wanted a decent projector for movies and gaming for years! This looks great! Some NMS or Elite Dangerous.
La cantidad de películas que vería con este magnifico proyector.
Imagine playing MMO or FPS games on a full size wall in your room, or watching movies :D Yummi
This monitor seems to hit the sweet spot for gaming on a big screen
