I hope that in the future I will eventually see around the town blogs in california with the two of you togeather. You guys are the best keep it up
I did the CXC tour a while back. Both ways. Here's how it goes: 1. The North will be a flat drive, but much more scenic than the south. It will be nicer in summer than south. 2. The South it's a bit harder to hit gas stations and rest stops and the heat is going to push your car pretty hard on that drive. South is more of an experienced drive. 3. Idaho has hot springs which is really cool 4. Pack immodium, take some and you won't have to go so much. Or incase you get the Hershey squirts.
If you take the Texas route you guys have to go to the Big Texan in Amarillo, they have the Streak Contest there. That route will also take you through Oklahoma, you've gotta check out Bobo's Chicken stand for the best chicken in the state!
You guys need to stop in San Francisco and eat at the Fisherman's Wharf once you get to Cali. Get a nice outdoor table and get a good lunch or dinner and just enjoy the day in SF. So many good places to eat and things to do in SF that you just can't really go wrong. From there you can head down the coast and hit a lot of really wonderful places before you go to LA.
I agree about the short before the movie. I didn't think it was very good. I loved the movie, though. I actually liked Atlantis. Very excited to see the Around the Country movie! If you can't get a hit film in Hollywood, maybe you can have a hit sitcom.

@coolduder It is actually closed up but there are some films of it on youtube so people do get in. Even if you cant get in you can still go around the premises, I am sure its quite a scene. I am not sure if you have seen the Blues Brothers movie but the cop car chase scene was filmed in that mall, then after filming it was boarded up and abandoned forever. Either way, going in or just viewing it from the outside is a piece of Mall history and Cinema history!
fyi most Dunkin Doughnuts and almost every McDonalds has free wifi if you guys need to use it on the road. If you guys head up to Chicago and its convenient you guys should check out Dixie Land Square mall. Its a mall from the 60's that has been abandoned since the 70s and its falling apart. Very interesting place. There is a wiki page for it. Also in Chicago you guys could find the street that the filmed Home Alone on!
This Around The Town was rather poignant, but of course Shaun lifts the mood by saying they should make out, haha. You guys are the kings of pop culture. I hope you both do well and I can't wait to see your road trip vids. :D
hey guys...I live in Salt Lake City and go to Vegas all the time. As far as food goes...you can eat for pretty cheap but the food will straight up suck arse. If you want decent buffets you'll be paying 25-30 bucks per person. Vegas will bankrupt you so be careful. It gets really expensive. If you want cheaper food go to the food court upstairs in the Excalibur. Plenty of different choices. If you want to see nice casinos check out Ceasar's Palace, The Wynn, Paris, and the Bellagio.
So quick heads up...Buffets in Vegas are HORRIBLE and around 20-30$ a pop. That and things like Subway around the strip cost 10$-15$ per footlong. Just a warning!

I made the same trip basically, new york to california..... I went through the south. If you want to see states a lot like maryland go through the north, if you want a new experience go through the south.
Oh Shawn just an option but what about taking old Route 66 from Illinois to Cali, that way you get to go through great states such as Texas, Arizona (see grand canyon), you could easilly turn off to Vegas
What part of California are you moving to? Also, go the South way and go through Texas! Austin would be a great place for you guys to explore. Esp. 6th Street! Haha.

After watching this now I know I need to go see Toy Story 3, I really enjoyed the first one but have to admit I never saw number two. I remember when buzz light year came out years ago, it was the hardest toy to find.
For a buffet in Vegas I would recommend the Bellaigo in Vegas, now the price is high around thirty something but its vegas lol....anyways they have some of the finest food.

Take the original route 66! (at least thats what i'd do) I remember theres a place Tomestone, AZ its a old west town & is haunted. The Mütter Museum in Philadelphia not for the squeemish thoe. You should look up Weird U.S. they might have odd things for the states you guys will be going through.
P.S. You guys dont want to go across the country the southern route..you'll see a lot of flat land and dirt...really uninteresting..If you do manage to come through the Boise area I've got a spare bedroom to save you guys a hotel fee!

Toy story 3 was made for it...and It didn't take over anything. Hand drawn is still around, and the last movie that was hand drawn was seen by almost nobody. Princess and the frog was a great hand drawn animation, but it's like nobody saw it. And the animation isn't kiddish or lacking.. they animate the toys close to how they would move in reality if they could.
@peterfinnfilms my cousin has been trying to make it since the early 70`s and all he`s got was extra work in tv shows and movies i hope Shawn does better.
