In the Re:Zero Sloth IF Story, Natsuki Subaru and Natsuki Rem run away together, get married, and have kids. Last chapter, we learned that Tia's clone is an Oni woman borrowing her appearance and her Great Spirit powers. Tia (Zarestia) left to fight the dark clone for the light ball. Rem went into labor, and was rushed to the clinic by Subaru and Halibel. Soon, Rem and Subaru's child will be born.

as selfishbas it may be, one needs to remember that we are the onlybones who can live out our lives, and that happyness is the only tjing keeping us going through the trials and pains of life...
and even tho connections with others, and the lives of others are important, one must accept their human desire to be happy and live on whenever making such a choice.
subaru chose happyness over them, and got what he wished for in many ways.
so i accept and respect his decision.
it's probably the best he could have taken considering all the pain and trauma he's put constantly under by his adventures in the canon route.

and i can totally agree with subaru's decision in the sloth IF.
sure, it sucks to leave behind evryone(emilia included) to die at the mansion at the hands of the white whale and the cultists...
but from an outside perspective, it could seem like an unstoppable outcome with how much the odds are stacked against him....
there's also the prospect of having to undergo more suffering for a potential lost cause, that coul also deter him.
on the other hand, rem loves him, and would protect him.
so i totally undertand and agree with his decision.
as cruel and selfish as ut lay be, subaru is human.
and his willingness to be happy,live on and suffer as little as possible are perfectly natural desires that should matter when one takes such a decision.
that's why my take on the matter is that subaru in the context took the better decision, and made the most out of it.
of course, others may have differing POVs, and that's prrfectly fine,
but this is my Take on the matter.

This makes me realize something, throughout all the IF stories and the original timeline story, even though Suburu is very weak and I hear he gets slightly stronger from novel readers his greatest strength is his charismatic personality to make friends with the people who are strong as well as saving them from themselves while they also save him from himself. He also gets some cunning moments thanks to his Return By Death by from that he uses his loops to gain much more battle experience if he fails and tries to get as much info as he can to assure he doesn't fail next time.

I disagree, I would say that his greatest ability is the capacity to change fate... He may be one of the weakest people jn the world... But by virtue of being an off worlder, and by virtue of basically just being where he is... He can basically change the course of human history... This is evidenced by how different the various if stories are... Hell, in one if story, he managed to nearly kill reinhard
And in another he actually BEAT reinhard, despite not being capable of killing him
Its just that his personality and growth is what determines which direction fate is changed
According to Roswal his ability to manipulate time makes him the "strongest card in the deck" but you're right. He's very limited if he can't convince people to help him or do what he wants
I love that about the story too. He uses strategy to win like Batman without the billions and the martial arts. He has to grow emotionally in order to save his loved ones. Some people are used to super strong protagonists or weak ones that get stronger. Honestly I wouldn't mind Subaru having the same power level he has on the anime right now. Of course he can understand how his powers work and learning some combat skills would be great for him

I really hope that Tia shows up in a future arc. I don’t know if it would be out of place but she’s such an interesting character to me and I like her design as well. Thank you for narrating and summarizing this If story, I did read it before these videos came out but you made it so entertaining and fun to watch!

this subaru has blood on his hands the ones that he abandoned. it sounds like the best route since it seems like everything is easy now but its not. this route simply meant that subaru gave up and never truly deeply changed as a person. dont make a mistake, Sloth is a sin for a reason.
if the main story didnt happen, then s2e4 wouldnt happen, and s2e8 wouldnt happen, and s2e13 wouldnt happen.
Subaru wouldnt realize that he has friends that actually care about him, Subaru wouldnt realize that he didnt show gratefulness for his parents, Subaru wouldnt have a person to talk about RBD, Subaru wouldnt have 7 of the deadliest witches backing him up, Subaru wouldnt defeat the witch cult, Subaru wouldnt learn how to love himself truly, and Subaru wouldnt learn how to carry his own weight.
The best path is the thorny path because at the end not only heaven is there but you get to grow as a person. This Sloth IF path is just too easy for Subaru.
But hey I dont dislike it considering the fact that hes constantly smashing Rem in this story.

I hope we get Halibel in the main story at some point. For being a character only mentioned in these If:stories, he might be one of my favorites.

@Sloshy Pants this world is built on trade-offs just like in the re zero universe. Sure he couldve made an impact, but why risk that for the sake of people who would probably get themselves killed again once a certain witch gets rid of his return by death ability. There are better ways to make the world a better place that doesn't involve you going to mind altering pain. Just like in the real world. Yes, Subaru had met his happy ending and he is making an impact by raising a son who could be even more efficient than he was some day.

@Sloshy Pants To be honest, this is the best ending for Subaru. While he did abandon mainly Emilia (because most of the cast weren’t really his friends as of yet), Reinhard got rid of Puck and the kingdom is still as is. Subaru hasn’t made a real influential impact until the white whale arc.
In this if, Subaru has a wife, family, friends all around town( like seriously, he’s beloved in the town of Banan, just like how the neighborhood adored his father back in Japan); he’s the head of a influential cultural committee that impacts not only Kararagi, but some parts of other countries, and has high status in Kararagi. Plus, he still gets his character development from episode 18. It truly is a happy ending for him.
Out of all the IF stories, this was truly the one I like the most because it's not like other IF stories where Subaru committed a Deadly Sin that ended miserably. Here, He ran away from all the pain and suffering and lived happily with Rem. Although in a way, what he did was bad because he totally left all the good things that he could've done, he left people, and he left Emilia. Yes, he chose the sin which is bad, but at the end of the story, he chose diligence once again because he has a lot to lose now. In my opinion, he's better off with this decision, because as we know it, if he keeps choosing Emilia, he just suffers more but with the decision he made he was able to live happily in a town that resembles the world he used to live in, with his family, Tia and a cool guy like Halibel.

Interesting. In "Witch's After Tea Party / The Requirements to be a Witch
" Echdina says at one point that "The world was a tough place for humans to live in 400 years ago. Magic was an exclusive strong suit Demi-Humans and Spirits had, regardless of which country you were in. Humans even struggled at building fires". I can see how this relates with Tia backstory, and its indicate that she might appears in the future light novels, though, to be frank, her backstory seems to happen way before 400 years ago in the story.

It has a good ending but if i remember correctly someone said that in this story when subaru aged and died living the good life, he returned by death back to the appa stand again. I honestly find it so interesting how drastically different this route is from the actual story, it completely changes the vibe and overall theme of the story because Subaru's return back by death is no longer mentioned and how we are introduced to new characters and places too, it just feels like a different universe entirely. I'm glad the author got to experiment with these IF stories.

For the rest of Arc 4, he won't die again from in Arc 4. In Arc 5 & 6, he will die again ofc, but in Arc 5 he is using RBD as less and as effective as possible.

Yo, that part about the demon race can't normally smell the Witch's Miasma now stuck in my brain.
I always wondered why Rem can smell Witch's Miasma, but Ram cannot. So, usually, I just dismissed it as something that is given to Rem without any particular reason to advance the plot. A plot device or so to say.
Then this video happened.
Now, I have so many questions.
What is Capella's end goal with this experiment?
What is she trying to accomplish?
Why the demon race in the first place?
What is so special about the demon race that Capella used them as lab rats?
Will that "thing" do something to Rem in the future?
Can it be cured?
Is it harmful in the first place?
Is it dormant or something?
There is a fan theory that rem was made by Pandora to weaken ram so that might have something to do with it
Another potential question: assuming the black stuff is the corrupted dragon's blood, does this mean Crusch can smell the witch's scent now? She isn't an Oni, but she was basically MIA once she got hit by it, so it's possible she didn't realize or develop it yet.
Or the stuff was something completely unrelated and my point is moot.

Robert McGuire I don’t think she will remember she wasn’t compatible with the blood. I think the demon women was either compatible or she wasn’t and driven insane because of it. Maybe different levels of compatible and races will led to different results

This also suggested why Capella kept on experimenting on the Oni tribe. Because the women of Oni tribe might have higher compatibility compared to the male Oni, and Oni tribe had a higher compatibility compared to other races.

@@umbrella3096 Apparently Subaru lost all his memories and is obsessed of getting it back. His way of getting it back is killing all the people that knew him and Minor spoiler:
He uses the book of the dead to see all the memories of the one he killed to gain the real Subaru memory and all the emotions of all he killed is there too like he can interact with them. And also One of the hero who help sealed the witch of envy is helping Subaru and has fallen in love with him.
He will kill all people who knew him until no one is left and when he regain his memories he will change fate and bring back the dead that are sacrifice for him. Subaru also stated that he will kill Reinhardt second to the last and the girl who has fallen in love with him.
This Subaru is insane and act different as the Subaru we know plus he Is white haired in this if story and his left eye is capable of seeing the people he killed and interact with them (idk if he can really see them or its just his insanity, they didn't describe too on how he lost his memories or how his hair or eye turned to that)
I'm not really good at explaining but I recommend you to read it full cause the spoiler is just that girl and the book I think.

@@Peakyy1 Honestly this. I don't understand why people think RBDing to the Sloth choice would be bad for Subaru. He can just have a nice happy life with his wife and kids and know some of the happy events to come that he can look forward to again and again. If he ever regrets his actions, the main story continues and just pursuits Rem instead if he wants his kids back.
