Chief Earl Old Person was born on April 13th 1929..,
into a large family.., led by his parents..,
..Juniper and Molly (Bear Medicine) Old Person.
Chief Earl Old Person grew up surrounded by traditional Blackfeet culture. He was also named “Cold Wind”or.“Charging Home”..
and he is an American Indigenous political leader and the Chief of the Blackfeet tribe. in Montana.
At the urging of Tribal Elders, in 1954, Grandfather Earl sought and was elected to his first term, as a tribal council member. He was just 25 years old and remains the youngest tribal member, ever elected to the Blackfeet tribe's most powerful legislative body.
When he retired in 2016, Chief Earl Old Person had held public office, for 56 years, longer than any other elected official, in Montana history.
