E o Ben é o meu personagem favorito. ❤
I love Dr Linus, the man and the episode ❤ Definitely a top 5 in season 6 for me. Interesting that Jack doesn't think anything will happen (the dynamite) because he now has faith/believes. It mirrors the intense Jack/Locke 'push the button' interaction in the hatch when Jack tells Locke "nothing is going to happen!", precisely because he DOESN'T believe. This perfectly illustrates what Rose once told Charlie: there's a thin line between denial and faith. Loved the reaction, guys ❤
@@reatores Yes, Jack is amazing this season! If he'd been like this the entire time, he would have been in my top 5 (whereas he's not even in my top 10 😉). But I do realise it wouldn't have had the same impact without his fantastic character arc.
Yes.... OMG 🫢🫢🫢 I almost forgot this episode has my all time favorite Jack moment ever in it!! 🥹🥹🤩👍👍 (13:36) I'm too sick still and too tired to go into detail, but I can't tell you how often I rewatched that whole scene there with him and Richard at the Black Rock... 😅
Honestly, I love this moment so much. This must have been one of the only times, I IMMEDIATELY skipped back a minute and watched it again, even in your reaction... 😅🤭
Excellent reactions to an excellent episode. I don't think i ever connected Arzt's return to Lost being in the same episode as Richard and Jack's adventures with dynamite. BOOM!! Or at least it makes you think it might explode like before.
Nossa, profundo e pertinente, Vinicius!
What a great episode, it brings me to tears every damn time I see it. 'because he's the only one who'll have me' damn, that scene. As for Jacob not asserting power directly over Ben, I do think that Jacob wasn't pleased with how Ben was running 'the others', and that's why Jacob set up another group of 'others' at the temple. Ben's group was sort of becoming militarized, and focusing on stuff like fertility, instead of just protecting the island. The temple group seemed to be a little more spiritual based, although they certainly had weapons, and were willing to use them in some situations.
It makes sense, good theory. Really intense emotions on Ben's scenes, his character offers a different perspective of himself in this episode! The sideways are so cool!
Man that scene between Ben and Alana gets me every time....and watching Ben get a 2nd chance by choosing Alex instead of his power is incredible......Benjamin Linus....the greatest villian I've ever rooted for....There are 5 characters I just cannot imagine LOST without and Ben is 1 of them... Hurley, Jack, Desmond and Locke as well.
Yes, my friend, that's such an emotional scene... as I said in the discussion, Ben is the villain everyone wants to have a reason to root for him. There you go... The crew was very satisfied.
Ben had always had Problems with his dad. The only one who said "i'll have you " (i accept you) was Ilana. So he fallowed her back in the camp. I understand that cause i can relay to it... wished i had a person like Ilana too😢
Title in French: "Docteur Linus" (Docteur Linus) I think that in the game between the MIB and Jacob, the MIB has the right to influence people, even kill those who are not candidates, while Jacob cannot influence people, just bring them to the island where they will make their own choices. Jacob wants to prove that people can progress while MIB thinks they never change. This is why Jacob leaves the choice to Ben, while hoping that he will do the right one, although knowing him since his arrival on the island, he has seen selfishness grow in Ben. Hence the “what about you?” answering the “what about me?” opening the door to a personal questioning from Ben that he does not accept. Now Ben understands, especially knowing from Miles that Jacob still had hope for Ben, and that therefore he cared about him. And the scene between Ilana and Ben, always goosebumps.
Agreed, I would just add that Jacob could have interfered a little more if he wanted to. He's not the perfect leader/protector (we have seen the finale already, so nothing is a spoiler). He's full of issues, which makes his choices mot perfect. But after all, I think he did a good job. Richard must have taken a lot of decisions for him haha!
Ben was manipulated just like John, but John “found a loophole” and escaped from his manipulation by trying to kill himself. Ben was too obsessed to let things go, and ended up making some mistakes. John’s fate could easily been the same as Ben’s, if he stayed on the island. We have all the clues, John wanted to “be Ben”, to take his role in the story. Failing to do so was the best thing he could do. In the flashsideways we see how their life could have been without all of this misery. They had the hardest job, to believe without proof, so that every manipulation would seem like a proof. They had no way to understand the situation. Now Jack is a different kind of believer, he saw, he understood. The same applies for Hurley, but he still can’t act accordingly. Jacob being good or bad doesn’t matter, there are demigods and magic and rules, they can exploit the system once they understand it. Apparently, the mistake was believing before understanding. Oh, something I forgot to mention in the last episode, about Sayid: in season 1, Sayid tells Danielle that in the back of Nadia’s picture the inscription says: “You’ll find me in the next life”. I think that’s appropriate for Sayid to find Nadia in these "what if / flashsideways"!
Did John escape the manipulation though? He was manipulated into thinking he had to die to get everyone to go back. It may not ever have occurred to him to end his own life were it not for the fact that the seed had already been planted. And, yes, he saved himself from being manipulated into killing Jacob but, by being dead, his form was then manipulated by the MIB. So he was manipulated either way.
It's interesting - after you see the whole show - to try to estabilish the "rules" of the sideways. How much of it is an "ideal" sitiation for each of them, or how much is a situation they feel they should go through. Or how much is situations someone (God, the universe or whatever) created for them to remember and to let go.

Via tudo a distância kkkkk
