I've been using FL Studios for a while now, but back when I couldn't afford that, I used LMMs. I would recommend Fl Studios though, it's way better. Then I mainly use the SGM and Earthbound soundfonts for instrumentation, along with Kontakt Jupiter and Percision for guitar and bass respectively.
