      Imo good time was MORE stress. Uncut gems is, of course, wild with the tension. But for some reason good time hits harder to me. Idky

    • @DARKgirafa
      @DARKgirafa 3 роки тому +2

      @@MMCLLC7 I felt the same way. I guess in Good Time, even though the main character is still an asshole, he's doing all he can for his brother, so there's that, whereas with Uncut Gems, Sandler is just an asshole and only cares for the money while fucking up everyone around him.
      Selfless in one, selfish in another, in my opinion, so I guess we can relate more with the character that's actually trying to do something good.

I was having straight anxiety up until he got wacked at the end, and by the time the catchy techno music was playing during the credits, I felt like it was a transition back into reality/ a reward for sitting through a bad nightmare. I actually think that the ending is kind of bittersweet. Howard was addicted to gambling his money away, even though he won all that money, he would very likely still end up betting it all away even if he did use it to pay off his debts. So when he dies so suddenly, he never knows what even hit him.
    The whole movie is watching him get stuck in this pattern and he never breaks it. Every time he wins something, it makes him believe he can win more. After winning the big game, he would gamble it again hoping for a bigger reward, and likely lose it all.
    He died happy, after making the biggest win of his life against all odds, which would be tragic if he wasn't the type of character who would gamble all his success away if he had lived.

    I realized very quickly that this movie does an AMAZING job at capturing the complete nonstop chaos of New York and people that live there.

    So glad you liked the movie man! My reaction was definitely the same as yours. Completely shocked! For another reaction, any Christopher Nolan movie is amazing!

    I love movies that can create an experience like this one. For 2 hours you're entranced in this stressful story and you feel like you're also screwed like Howard is.
    What a fantastic film and Sandler shows once again he's more than just the goofball comedy guy

    I've never seen a film that made me THIS anxious from beginning to end. They did a fantastic job with the constant tension.

    Hey! Thanks for the video.
    I worked and lived in nyc at that time - doing something different. But the stress in this movie is real. I literally move to Canada to get away from that exact stress.
    All I am saying is that that Movie is spot-on.

    I already have anxiety/insomnia already and watching this movie just set me back in my therapy. Adam Sandler really deserved an Oscar as he was superb in this.

    Its also insinuated that those guys are stuck in the shop at the end cause of the door being broken. So its safe to say they didn't get away.

    This is gonna be a another dope reaction I loved Uncut Gems this is Adam Sandlers best preformance imo. Safdie bros are too dope. The soundtrack and cinematography is so prime. KG was great to watch in this. I needed this for sure.
