I have both. I mean I got rid of the JB for the ARB altitud. No point of comprison. ARB tick of the boxes where JB screwed up. If you can afford the ARB altitud, it is a no brainer. JB is crap
@@greatsouthernoverland I lioe the idea of the bundutec tent, it just looks like a huge ugly box on the roof. And if u have a modern dual can ute it doesn't suit the mid size of the ute. I like that they are big tho as my current james baroud evo is a bit small for me at 6ft2.
@@krump743the size is the biggest plus. I am 6 ft 5’ and can stretch out and it doesn’t feel cramped. It’s brilliant in big storms as well, very solid and no leaks. It is big on the roof but light 😊
Keen to see a review of options. The design team at JB must be ‘vertically challenged’ as to me all their RTT models are a size too small for us non-European types, especially in the length and internal height. Did you say $7k….ouch! Guess you are paying for the quality Cheers
My JB rooftop tent is full off cracks after only 2 yrs and the solar fan stopped working a year ago. And don’t bother trying to use the 5 yr warranty as I was told my that my cracks were from a “casual event” whatever that means.
@@danwilde5290 "casual event"... maybe they're insunuating that it only occurs slightly less or slightly more than part time. ;) how ridiculous. Cheers
Having the evo from James baroud currently, I don't really see how they have really improved on it apart from maybe a better look and adding roof racks to it, which are an extra bit of a rip off. 7 grand ouch, still using the stupid Velcro on the doors is disappointing. The reason they dint use midget mesh is cause it will affect the wind rating the tent can handle, being the current mesh is string and durable and can handle the wind rating they say it can handle. Tent comparisons go all the up market tents. Bush company, hames baroud, ALU cab, bundutec, camp King ect. Throw in a cheap tent just to show the difference good money gets over different money. My thoughts on that james baroud tent, not really much improvement over the other one tbh, not for 7 grand anyway.
got a alu-cab lt-50 there about 50kg and can fit bedding with an inflatable pillow and i can sit up or go on my knees to get changed . I am about 6ft tall could almost buy 2 of them for the price of that tent
Id be keen to see a review on the new rhino rack hard top tent.
Compare the ARB Altitude please

I love the idea if a rtt however, how wet does your bedding get if you have to pack up when the canvas is wet?
Usually fine, the wet side stays on the outer of the material however if raining while packing up, that can make for a wet interior.
Please include the Bundutop by Bundutec in your comparison / review.
Yeah I have had a bundutec for 3 years now, wasn't sure about it at first but love it now!!!

I had it. Best advise is dont get it its crap
There is no quality. Just marketing. The mattress is crap, the tent itself it is so not worth 7.4 k
Checkout the Camp King RTT, Aussie made and phenomenal ❤❤❤
Nice looking tent.
The only nice thing about it. I regret getting mine so bad
The ARB altitude is roughly the same price but you get a lot more for your money than that james baroud.
Agreed. I sold the Jb for the ARB altitud. No regrets
7k. Camper trailer territory
Quality looks to be the best I've seen on a roof top but in saying that I'd expect it for $7k. Ouch. Thanks for sharing

It is not worth it. Sold mine after first and only use
Test Alu Cab 3R

Solar panels go where??
I guess on the optional load bars would be do'able.
Can either of you guys sit up in it and get dressed? Could you show that in part 2.
Check out caravan reviews for that ;)
4x4 network rrt
You can’t even fully sit up!
Plus the mattress is crap, the holding legs are on the way, and very dangerous, the velcro in the entrace is a nightmare.
$7500 for a rooftop tent 😮
And when you get it you will inmediately regret it. It is absolute crap. Had to get rid off mine after first use
When you're struggling for something good to say...
This tent is crap. Sold mine after first camping. Big disappointment
