it's because they're both from different verses, so they have a different power system and powers that make someone strong. it's also because they're arrogant and maybe a bit cocky.

the reason why Shadow is the strongest its for some reasons
1)in the beginning he was an incredible and invincible warrior and no one dared to stand his way. It means that he has mastered all type of martial arts etc.
2)he travelled the lands searching for a worthy battle until he discovered the gates of shadows, It means that he was getting bored fighting with weaklings and so he decided to travell the lands and searching someone stronger to face, until he discovered a portal called the gates of shadows.
3)he broken the laws of the elders and opened the gates, and the demons of the other world were beyond him they rushed upon him, tearing his flesh, Dreaning his soul, turning him into a SHADOW.
4)and now for Eternity he was doomed to do wander the world and fight the demons that he has freed.
When he became a Shadow he has obtained immortality, healing steal, magic control and dark magic, damage absorb, futuristic weapons and armours, skills, infinite stamina, mastered every type of martial arts and learned how to use weapons just watching, and regeneration.
And of course he can also see invisible enemy and block every type of attack.
He cannot die until he win.
