I do believe all the old Kawa's are just 5 up, neutrals at the bottom

I had H1 and H2. Everything Kawasaki wanted to achieve with its 2 stroke culminated in the 750 H2. Torque and horsepower in a light handling motorcycle with (for me) a great sound. I have had FJ's and Hayabusa (my best bike) and others but I keep dreaming about finding that I never sold my H2 and there it is in the cellar of my home. S and W shocks, bronze bushing swing and trip K and N's. I really wish I never sold my blue H2.

I was riding a Suzuki 125 back in 73 and the Denver traffic nearly killed me. I told the wife if I was going to continue to ride I had to get something more powerful. I came home with this blue on in the video and said "honey what do you think" she said take it back. Damn it was powerful and fun, but they called it the widow maker for good reasons, prolly would have gotten me killed.

Was reading about vintage Porsches and the author described the cultural touchstone of the original 911 Turbo as having the same visceral excitement as a 750 Kawasaki triple

I have never driven a Porshe turbo but I am sure that at that time they were both the top in power excitement. I have a lot a bikes but the H2 is one of the kind!

as a former owner of a few triples - first the S3,, then my best one - '74 ported, chambered, club mans, safety wired, ex-club racer from Loudon - that bike was incredible! I rode it many thousands of miles, finally my '72 which I blew up, then put the '74 motor in - ....I have to compliment you on the nuclear opening - just great! I haven't even watched the video yet!

Nice touch at the end. I remember that commercial. In the beginning, it looks like you shifted UP into 2nd and then took off. Really?

First gear up from neutral on an H2 is first gear.

Nothing compared to a modern 750 but I remember how fast they were in their day.

Actually, the owner replied that I was correct. In other words one down four up. It seems his H2 has enough snot to take off in second.

All H2’s have all 5 gears up, neutral is at the very bottom.
