Gday Paddy and Andy. Great day out. Your two mystery items. The anchor is the inner part of a two piece cast buckle. Ripper of a find. Way better quality than the pressed brass buckles. They came in many designs. I have found some down here that were from the California gold rush and some were made with an emu or kangaroo on them for the Aussie market. The second one is a cover plate for a key hole in a padlock. Yours must have been a big padlock. Made during the reign of Queen Victoria. A lot of padlock makers put the crown and VR on them. Very patriotic. Congrats on the other artifacts and the silver. Well done fellas. Take care 🦘🦘😁👍
That place always always gives up the goods. If I was you guys I'd be all over that place in the winter months. That Charles II was a worldie. Keep up the good work
Thanks a lot mate, sorry for the late reply, we love that place however some of the fields are heavily hammered however I agree, there’s definitely some detecting to be done on there later in the year!
The? Fob Seal, might not be a Fob Seal, it might be more likely a Table Seal, used in the Owners Office and used for Stamping His Letters in Sealing Wax with His Monogram or Family Seal. The engraving might be His own Private Seal.
Let’s go let’s go treasure and adventure 👵🎉✌️🌎🌺❤️🇺🇸
The bit with VR on it, is probably the cover plate off a Victorian padlock.

The metal piece with V.P stamped on it is the handle of old cutlery e.g spoon handle

What an awesome collection of finds for you both, I did like the seal for sure possible used to put wax on letters.
Yep, definitely, well chuffed with it
The anchor looks like a military navy buckle tongue that locks in a reef buckle.
Thanks very much 👍
Hi Paddy! The spiky part of the spur is called the rowel. The hammereds, the fob seal, are amazing. Love the thimble, spur, and whistle!❤
Thanks for the info Cynthia, sorry for the late reply!
