The writers still could have handled it better, because those two DID have chemistry and there was no reason to overdo the awkwardness of "not knowing what's going on." Oh well, we'll never know. :-(

So its been about eight years since this story line changed my life and I'm here watching this, I should be sleeping mind you but I'm watching this and having all these feels. I did the whole gay panic thing at the same time as Callie and these two will forever hold a special place in my heart.
What I wouldn't give for Erica to come back. When they took Brooke off the show it took me awhile to embrace Callie and Arizona but eventually I did. I invested in them and then after everything Arizona cheats on Callie. Now I like Jcap so I don't want her off the show but I would turn in a heart beat to have Brooke bring back Erica and win Callie over. My heart flutters at the thought.
Oh and DocCovington good to see you. I am pretty sure I remember you from the Callica boards on LJ back in the day.
+Kellymarie Perez-Cruz Yep, that's me. ;-) It's been a loooong time, right? Yeah, it would be quite something to have Erica back, but that's not going to happen. So, at least we'll have this little video series to hold their special chemistry dear to our hearts. I was never as invested in a tv couple as I was in these two. (Not even back in my Xena days, heh.)
It really has almost like a life time ago! *le sigh* I loved them so much and now they only live for me in fanfic. Although it has been almost 15 years since Xena went off the air and I still ship them so hard lol. And I don't care what anyone says Jane and Maura are a couple and I won't believe otherwise lol. Although I have a new light with Clarke and Lexa from the 100 that is an awesome little show that blew my mind. I would highly recommend it, just saying from one fangirl to another :)
I've been watching GA from the beginning and I shipped Callie/Erica at first, but since Arizona came around...I got to admit that Calzona has more chemistry, they just fit.
one of my favourite scenes in this show is the scene where erica's looking at callie and bailey's watching them.. it's soo cute! and it's funny when the music just stops and erica's like "WHAT?"

Yep. When I first saw that scene you mention, I had to rewind at least two dozen times in awe, that's how moved I was by it. "Full of love" nails it perfectly. :-)
Looks like the HQ has been working on my computer for the last few hours...I watched this in HQ and downloaded it 6 hrs ago. I'm watching it again so I can give it my full undivided attention. I absolutely love this one...it has most of my favorite Erica shots in it! Every time I see the staring at Callie in the elevator scene I fall futher and further in love with Erica...Damn I miss her! Thanks for making and posting this Doc! You Rock!!!

I hope Shonda will get Erica back this season 9. It'll be an interesting story if Erica joins SGH again and Brooke Smith is an amazing actress, she portrayed Erica well. And I want to know how will Callie and Arizona react if she's back, as well as Erica, how will she react when she finds out that Callie is now married to Arizona and they have a child. Hoping this will happen. :D

When Erica left, it was sudden. She just left like that. Callica story ended just like that, no dramas or whatsoever. Callie and Erica fought but the scene was too short. I didn't like it actually. But Arizona came along so it's still enough to watch Grey's Anatomy. HAHA!
@Swimdeep the relationship wasnt supposed to have any kind of lust or desire kind of chemistry the relationship was a portrayal of a very realistic thing that happens all the time, the emotions etc were spot on with the awkward unfortableness because they both didnt know what was going on ,
She did not leave, she was fired, because the mainstream audience didn't find her or her character "appealing". I think Dr. Hahn was *hot*, and so do many others, but apparently we are not the mainstream audience, so...
From what I've come to understand, Brooke would have to put in a request to be considered. I soooooooo hope she did that!!! She was amazing on the "Leaves" scene!!!

Well, I have to make a confession here, I'm totally smitten with the Callie/Arizona storyline/relationship... I hated it, when they fired Brooke and I thought that Erica and Callie looked good together, but I like Arizona's character, and I think she's clicking with Callie... I adore them...

Good for you that you are smitten with them. IMO they will never be able to recreate the magic that was Callica. (But that is for everyone to decide for themselves...)

Why do the audience did find her appealing? But there's many of us who like her character on the GA. Hmmm. Too bad she's gone, but I really like Erica Hahn. And Brooke Smith is an amazing actress, I can't believe they fired her.

@AngieForBreakfast The whole point of this 5-parter was to reinvent the Callica storyline and tell a whole new, different story. So of course some scenes are missing, because this is no mere renarration of the original storyline.
1. Erica invites Callie on a date, 2. Callie enters the elevator to leave to another floor, Hahn swoons after her, 3. Callie arrives at destination and starts conversation with Bailey about the date. -- Made more sense to me that way and had a better story-telling flow.

I never wanted to compare them, anyways. Since Erica and Arizona are completely different characters, they have nothing in common (besides the hotts for Callie)... So, I don't know, I like this pairing.

Apparently, you did not get what this whole 5-parter was about, did you? Of course the scenes are not in chronological order - my intention was to REWRITE their whole story, NOT to retell it as it was shown on the show. Geez, some people... ^-^

That is your opinion and you are entitled to it as I am to mine. On-screen "Chemistry" is a chemical process that happens between two people and it visibly shows in their on-screen interactions. That you disliked 'I Can't Think Straight' is also an opinion. The acting was not the finest but what showed up on film was--wait for it---Chemistry. The acting by Sara and Brooke was quite good but they didn't have 'on-screen chemistry.' In my OPINION.

Don't wnat to crush your hopes, but the chances of Brooke Smith ever returning to this show after the reasons for which she had unfairly been fired are zero.

I just have to say it: While both good actresses, Sara & Brooke have NO CHEMISTRY. Good acting yes, but chemistry is a thing unto itself.
Lesbian characters that have chemistry: Frida & Mia in "Kiss Me" Tala & Leyla in "I Can't Think Straight."
I so wish Brooke Smith would receive an Emmy nomination for that...

Sorry to break it to you, but "I Can't Think Straight" had ZERO chemistry due to the terribly bad actors - one of the worst lesbian movies ever. And if you truly believe that Callie & Erica didn't have any chemistry, then there is something wrong with your perception of chemistry. ^-^
