Hi, thank you for the provided information. May I ask, how did you finance your accommodation, living expenses, etc. in London during your semester abroad?
Multiple ways, but mostly from my job online (I worked about 25 hours a week) for a company in their operations department in Denmark and from an Erasmus grant (that was the last semester when they still had it). I also applied for grants and got two different ones that were able to cover my accommodation costs.
Great video, thanks! Spent some time at CBS a year ago, great memories. In one of the comments below, you mentioned how workload is fine, but with thesis it can get a lot. Therefore I am curious, did you do you thesis in the 4th semester i.e. at the same time you were taking a term at the LSE? If that is the case, did you do thesis with LSE or remotely at CBS?
Hi! :) Thanks for your comment. I did my thesis remotely at CBS after I was already done with my semester at LSE (CBS allowed for 1 change in your submission date so I had approximately 2 months more to finish it). I also did all my theoretical research during the 3rd semester so it was done before I went on exchange. Let me know if you have any more questions! Do you plan to apply this year? :)
Thanks a lot! Highly appreciate your input and your shared experiences. Can you say something about the difficulty to get into the program? Is there a difference depending on which university you apply? I have a German GPA of 1,7, Internships at the German federal office, Bosch ASEAN, KPMG and multiple years of political experience on a state level. In the past I was a team lead for student consultants. We did projects for the UN and for Porsche.
I think honestly you might be overqualified then! 😄 your information seems similar to many of my classmates so you definitely have a shot at getting a spot. Experience at Big4 is a huge plus when it comes to applying for CEMS
Hi, I'd have just a quick question! What are the chances of getting a job into investment banking with a CEMS Master? would it be better to take a Master in Finance?
I think doing a master in Finance would probably be a better bet tbh. CEMS is a big stepping stone for consulting but it is fairy qualitative in nature. You can always do a master in finance and do CEMS on top of that for the network and experience :)
The program takes 1 year (ish). Two semesters plus 2 month internship. Generally you’ll spend one semester abroad and the length depends on the course and exams schedule, usually 4 to 6 months. Good luck with the application!
Hello. Do you think exchange to LSE can help you get a job in London? If you want to get a job in Europe mainland, is the native language important factor?
Hello :) good questions! Exchange at LSE definitely can help you get a job in London, I got approached by UK companies quite a lot after I started studying at LSE. However, the visa requirements are no joke and finding a company that would sponsor you is quite a hassle. Most people I know chose to get jobs in their homelands or for example Dubai and then transfer after a year. In Europe mainland knowing a language is a huge factor but it really depends what kind of a job you are looking for. If in a big multinational corporation, the corporate language is English so you can get by with just English (think Golden Sachs, Deloitte etc) I used to work in Denmark for Maersk and when I got the job my Danish was very limited but it was not a problem :) smaller companies overwhelmingly prefer people speaking a local language.
Hello! Thank you for your video it was so eye-opening ☺ If you mind I was just wondering why you got reallocated from Sydney to London and if you had the possibility to get the Erasmus funds even if you ended up going to Sydney :)
Hi Greta 😄 I was originally supposed to go to Sydney, but due to Covid restrictions University of Sydney (and some other universities in the CEMS network) decided to cancel exchanges for that particular semester. They resumed to normal now. The relocation was pretty saddening at first as we needed to change our plans and resubmit the location preference list but it turned out to be a great experience nonetheless. When it comes to the Erasmus grant, you won’t be able to get it if you go on exchange outside of Europe. As a matter of fact, due to Brexit, Erasmus grants are no longer given to students coming to the UK either. Let me know if you have any more questions that I haven’t answered in the CEMS- related videos! 🙂 Thank you for watching! 😄
I want to apply for cems mim (international management) course it has 3+ language criteria out of which they have mentioned 1 language can be your mother tongue but the problem is how do I get my mother tongue ( Marathi) recognized as there aren't any centre for the same.
Hello! I actually made a video about the application process to CEMS already. You can find it here ua-cam.com/video/knzTwMuEitg/v-deo.html I cover the following subjects: application process, admission criteria and admission statistics. Let me know if that video answers your questions. If not, let me know and I’ll answer any other questions your have!
Hi! 95 points are equivalent to C1 level on the European scale so that should be fine. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, especially if all your other documents (grades and other certificates) are on point 😃 good luck!
Hello, You mentioned the post-course scenario for your classmates was good. The perks of belonging to the EU also sound amazing. Can you please give any insights about the job prospects post the CEMS course for Non-EU students (i.e who would require VISA sponsorship by employers) or any experience by your fellow batchmates?? It would really help if you answer this question. Thank you!
Some of my classmates that come from South America but studied CEMS in Europe got job offers in Europe shortly after graduation. So it’s definitely possible that it increases the chances for visa sponsorship. Thanks for watching! 😄
CEMS is done in the same time as a masters degree, not phd so you will not be able to do it as CEMS is on a lower educational level than phd. You can always do CEMS first, and only then go to get a phd if you would like to do both. I think the CEMS workload is alright (doable without being overworked), however, since you still have your regular master courses and master thesis to write, it adds up to be a lot. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Hey I had a question, is the CEMS certificate from all the universities from CEMS looked upon the same? Or is there still a big difference in programm depending on which university u choose
Generally speaking CEMS is highly regarded regardless of the uni. However, since your regular master degree (the one before CEMS) is at one of the unis from the CEMS network, the quality of that uni will also be considered by the employees. So it’s best to aim to unis that are the best in the country where you plan to work, so for example in France, HEC will be a better option than any other uni from the CEMS network as it is more easily recognised in the region. Thanks for watching!
Let me know if you have any questions about CEMS! 👨🎓👩🎓
Is there age limit to join cems?
Great video! Very informative 😊 Can’t wait to see the rest of the series!

Your mother tongue is recognised automatically, you can choose a language that you grew up with without any certificates/proof

Hey, is it completely impossible to enter cems if you have say 95 on toefl? Or they reject anything below 100 automatically?

Hey if i go for cems from vse prague then will it increase my chances of getting into mbb??
Definitely, CEMS definitely helps to get your foot in the MBB door
Hi! :) I was wondering whether it is possible to do a PHD with the CEMS MiM? Also how hard would you say is the study load?
