Iv never heard a better song on the eurovision since! Bring tears to your eyes that song! Not even that its irish, its just the lyrics are pure brilliant ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Still my favourite
Ireland 1994: *Now we never seem to rock-n-roll anymore...*
Italy 2021: *Rock-n-roll never dies!*
A great melody, moving lyrics, clever and inspired musicians, wonderful and emotional vocals make this song one of the most beautiful songs ever heard on the European Songs Constest ! If I ad that I was 15 in 1962, listening to the songs of Elvis and co on the radio and believing that these happy days of rock and roll would last forever, you 'll understand why this song brings me still to tears...Thanks Ireland for this marvelous madeleine of Proust. Greetings from France.
I think its one of the best ballads of all-time not just eurovision
Ireland has won Eurovision 7 times. But to me this is the most perfect song. Eurovision has not had a song like it since
Agree
Bez przesady dużo jest pięknych piosenek...
Yes! It encapsulates nostalgia in 3 minutes.
If this is the pinnacle of Irish song, I feel sorry for you. Edyta sang much better, she should have won Eurovision with this one.

Poland should’ve win 1994
Legends! These two did us so proud. Seems to be the most popular of our winners here in Ireland, from what I've gathered
It's probably up there. The only real competition would probably be Hold Me Now.
@@SuperJNG18 I think you could make an argument for What's Another Year as well.
Aye johnny logan is deffo up there
It's definitely the most disliked of the 7 winners tho
@@morbidsearch Outside of Ireland, definitely. However here it seems the most liked, especially from our 90s winners.
Beautiful, just beautiful!
Ty❤
My favourite had to be the year before , 1993 was great
All these years later and it's still a beautiful song ❤
I remember it like it was yesterday, I was 16 years old and this song was one of the first to be played on Eurovision that year, and I thought: It doesn't matter what songs are coming, this one has already won
Eurovision aside... pen to paper... one of the greatest songs a lot of us could relate to... simply class!! Period!!
The greatest Eurovision song ever, simple as that no argument.
Without question
The utter shite you hear on Eurovision Song Contest is sending the whole thing down the shitter.
Agree! Such a simple song but stood out from the rest! It’s still my favourite Eurovision song!
So classy, elegant, symple and [-insert any positive quality here-]
Failte from Turkey
Yesss. Longing for past... Nostalgia. I felt that emotion to my bones...
I am from Germany. This song was perfect!
❤
One of my ultimate winner songs along with in your eyes & arcade. So simple. One of the most under rated ESC songs for me was Me & My Guitar
Listening to this the night of Eurovision 2023, proper songs that touch the soul 🇮🇪
Last nights were really awful , this is real music , but god this would never win now 🤨
One of my favorites now
2023 y esta canción sigue sonando igual de fresca❤
My Favourite Irish winner 😍
Benim de:) Keşke o yıl katılıp 12 puan verebilseydik, salonda da alkış kıyamet kopsaydı

My favourite Eurovision winner full stop.
My favorite Irish winner, too, aside from the man himself, Johnny Logan.
Wow, hard to believe this was actually a song-contest instead of the freak show it is nowadays. Amazing songwriting right here! Absolutely beautiful song!
😴💤
Preciosa canción! Merecido triunfo! Tengo ganas de que Irlanda vuelva a ganar y desempatar con Suecia!❤
As an Elvis' fan, i love that song so much ❤❤❤❤
So this was sung at my wedding by Charlie. Beat that. You won't.
Beautiful song great musicians and vocals
The Miracle Is Mine
Most underrated Eurovision winner of all time
Everybody saying Ireland was overrated in the '90s... Well, I tend to agree to some point, but not here: guys, this is the most worthy winning song ever for Ireland, end of discussion! Musically and lyrically this is really a great song. The complementarity of their voices made the rest. Incredible how they wanted to lose with a song like this which has "winner" written all over the place... 😅😅😅
It's utterly insulting to those 2 guys that they didn't think it would win. It was an instant hit in Ireland when it was released.
@@auseire8656 Not them, Ireland wanted to lose. They wanted to lose so badly, because the broadcaster had previously organized two Eurovisions in a row, with all financial implications. They thought this was a song which would have never won Eurovision. That's why Ireland wanted to lose, but instead they won.
Eurovision in 2024 is just a freak show.
So classy and „normal” entries in top 10 of 2024 like France, Ukraine, Israel, Italy, Portugal were freaks, too? Or you only notice the freaks?
Im from Mexico and Im too fan of ESC, this song always makes me cry, its absolutely one of the best in all the history
great song
Simplemente preciosa
No involvement of the orchestra. That was big at the time. This is the best Eurovision song for Ireland, one of the best independent winners, and songs. It's beautiful.
True! But the guitar and piano was naturally played live. So it's still a 100 % live performance.
@@escLIVEmusic1 ...and that's what matters!
Honest version:
I remember '62
He was 12, and I was 2
A song on the channel with no orchestra! Will wonders never cease? An all time classic, best Irish entry ever. (Also apparently Noel Kelehan led the very lowkey bass and drums)
This channel is called esclivemusic, my dear follower. And this is a nice piece of live music 😉
@@escLIVEmusic1 This is true! My apologies for not realizing the flexibility of the term.
In fairness, Pat Kenny (Ireland's commentator) introduced the song with something along the lines of "And of course, our conductor is Noel Kelehan, only he doesn't have a very hard job...just some drums and bass."
@@SuperJNG18 Interesting that Pat Kenny got that information wrong. Because there is absolutely no bass guitar or drums in this performance, just piano and guitar. Maybe they at an earlier point thought about using some drums and bass, and that's the reason for the misunderstanding.
@@escLIVEmusic1 Yeah, that was the weird part of it. I thought either I was going deaf or Ireland's own commentator didn't have his facts straight (and Terry Wogan said the same thing). You actually talked to Noel Kelehan, so you probably know better than anyone that he didn't conduct it.
Edyta ich rozwaliła
Will you be uploading Austria’s 1994 entry as I think this is one of the few entries from this year you hadn’t uploaded yet?
It's remind me Randy Newman's art❤
Poland should then win without a doubt.!!!!!
❤️
Could you upload Austria 1994 and Turkey 1983 to this channel? :)
I personally love both entries but for Austria 1994 there's only a video of it with bad quality from 13 years ago, and for Turkey 1983 there's no videos at all :/
1994 winner
When the eurovision was actually about good music and not shite politics!
En effet
I just found out that this band won with Edyta Górniak at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, what a coincidence, Irish musicians win the competition held in Dublin and with this song, bravo to the organizers!
Really beautiful song, but that year Poland deserved the victory.
Poland was good, but too Mariah Carey-ish
This song has stood the test of time. Just as in 1990 Irelands 22 points went to Italy and cost Ireland the win.
No chance. Great vocals but it's a song contest not a vocal contest
The best of the four irish winnings song of the 90s in my opinion, but also one of the most controversial winning songs ever. Poland should have won, although I really like "Rock'n'Roll Kids".
I think that the live version of this song was very impressive. No Orchestra, but still full of feeling. And the singers are also good.
And they won with Edyta and Poland that year? Don’t make me laugh.
No contest. Ireland had great vocals AND song
Poland should have won!
You must be joking. 😂
Poland shoud win not those oldboys
You must be joking. This was the most beautiful Eurovision song ever
I agree that the Polish song was simply beautiful and Edyta too .
My favourite was Slovakia.
However this song from Ireland was beautiful and it was a deserved winner .
Poland song also would have deserved the win but we can only have one .
😂, nah these guys ain't old !!
They are gifted guys ❤
They're all old now
This was the one song that didn't even use the orchestra, so I'm not sure what it's doing on this channel.
This channel promotes live music in general, as it's called esclivemusic. Not all songs needs an extensive orchestral arrangement. Sometimes it's enough with just piano and guitar. As we see in this video both instruments are wired up with the microphones. 😀
@@escLIVEmusic1 Good point, I thought it exclusively meant to orchestral accompaniment. Thanks for the clarification.
Does this mean Paul and Charlie were playing their instruments live, and not just pretending to do so like nowadays?
@@aleksanderpagels288 yes, they did. It's confirmed by the artists. But also if you look carefully you will see there's a microphone stand infront of the guitar and also one inside the piano aswell.
Poland should of won
Why?
It has "boomer" written all over it, but... it is undeniably a very good song.
What's so bad about boomer? I'm Generation Y but I hate today's music and today's world in general. I would prefer to be a teen/young adult in the 60s and 70s. I love everything about that era.
@@Schnipp08It’s great
Poland was robbed of the win
Polands entry sounded like it was from the 60's.. just saying
They lacked stage presence, the song was unimaginative and yet they won. I feel it was just due to the fact it was sung in English. This entry belonged to the bottom 5
It was the 90's when the ESC had credibility
Poor pals, viagra was available on the market a few years later.
What?
Boring
I'm guessing you're a fan of todays pride festival
@@derekdwyer9484 no
Edyta Gorniak was robbed in 1994...
You are deaf
🤣🤣🤣
How ireland won with Poland that night I dont know but I guess its all about money xd
What money Ireland were broke 😂
What do you mean money bro....we were so skint all we had was two dudes a piano and a guitar...... and we won it.....
Ireland won that year because everyone voted for the mid break show Irish put on called "Riverdance" not because of this song lol
Rock n Roll song in a most Pop sounding way possible a boring crap !
No such thing as acoustic pop
@@derekdwyer9484 are you sure ,or just stupid !!!
