@@maxtheberm205 Cool, I rode a buddies back in 1990 and it had the fmf pipe, with some minor suspension work. Off road, it was amazing an the power output was extremely fun to ride in the tight woods...good luck finding one..😎
great rebuild man!! Beautiful job. I had the 200 version of it but FYI, that's the graphics from the 1985 model not a 84'. I see the frame indicates 1984. The 84' model graphics look VERY different than the 1985 model. Looks great!
I raced one of these primarily in motocross and some harescrambles as well . Had lengthened the swing arm by 2 inches ,82 CR -125 front suspension, ported ,polished head ,Barnett clutch, revalved rear shock ,white Brothers head pipe /with reverse cone megaphone muffler , and ran cam2 fuel in it ,the two of the worst things about it that 1984 XR250 Honda WAS DUEL CARBS and pain in the ass to restart if you crashed it ,laid it over or even stalled it ! If any one of those things happen during a MOTO ,IT WAS OVER ,the 1985 XR- 350 was by far a superior bike compared to the 84 250 ! Sold the 84 and bought a 83 CR-480 and a 87 CR-500, Best move that I ever made as far as race bikes !
Hey I have a xr350 1985 and I can’t figure out how to put the exhaust back in properly I looked at the diagram and still sounds loud idk can you help me
Thanks, just saw it used in your earlier video that I’d missed when asking the question. Nice job on this series. Hope you’re enjoying the bike. I’ve had an ‘85 model for over 30 years now and it’s still fun. Provides amazingly long service life with basic maintenance. Some of the best machines Honda ever built, IMHO. Certainly more comfortable to ride long distances than the newer stuff. Will use it as long as I’m able. Only wish it was electric start. Best of luck to you.
What Project Bike should I tear into next? Let me know!
89 kdx 200😎
@@Workerbee-zy5nx I really like kdx 200s I’ve always wanted one. I’ll keep my eye out for one.

My 84 I rebuild 8 yrs ago, it's a beast.

Looks like it came out great. Still got it? How’d it run? Enjoyed the project updates.
Hello friend, your motorcycle is incredible, I would like to know how you did it or to make those plastics new!
I searched eBay to find plastics and cleaned up the original ones as best as I could!
Very nice!
Awesome work

Absolutely awesome bike!! How in the world did you remove the air box?
I wrestled it out of there, also had to remove the shock to remove the air box.
Why Do you mount the breakcable in this dangerous way outside the fork ? Nice bike , greetings
How did you get that motor looking so clean? Was that acid dipped or something ?
@jables2845 I just used some high temp black spray paint and used a dremel with a grindstone for the fins to shine those up. Simple as that!
Dope jam bro
What is the paint code for that? 85 XR 350 that I am rebuilding right now and would love to match the paint.
I’m not sure, I had my frame powder coated
Amazing job how did you get the plastics so shiny?
A lot of elbow grease and some product!
@@maxtheberm205what product? I have an 84’ that needs some tlc!
Nice job! What product did you use to refresh the plastic components ?
I used some cerakote trim coat on some of the old ones. Bought a few plastics to replace also.

Very nice result!, the engine wasn't torn apart though? ✌
Nope, didn’t have to tear into the motor
Good job max. Did the last owner hack the fame? Man thats unsafe..
Yeah I think someone must’ve broke the frame and tried welding it. They didn’t do a great job…
@@shnek5143 what's a real 2002?
@@shnek5143 Äh, löl, I had an 84 Cr500r that had that paint color, my 85 and 86 were similar. That's Hondas best color in my opinion.👍
So you didn't touch the decompression system whatsoever?
Couldn’t find parts for it
Es como una honda xlx 250 r😮
No headlight
