- There are countless videos on how to clean a car engine, engine degreasing, and engine detailing. While the steps are many, there is one critical thing you should do before you go about degreasing your car engine that Darren highlights in this detailing tutorial.

Hi thanks for the video. I would personally use brushes to agitate the APC before rinsing off, and also use a plastic/rubber dressing on hoses and other plastics after drying it. I think it would give a better and brighter finish.
Thanks Darren!
What ever method you go with, just don't focus too much pressure on any connector or modules. You can blow water past the seals which can cause corroded pins in the future
Waste of time, keep the jet wash at a distance and tape up electrical plugs. Don't spray plastic dressings on timing belts or chains as they will squeak. Cleaned many engine bays now and never had an issue touch wood.
Great video Darren and great advice. Another home run under your belt.👍👍
You talk too damn much! Are you related to Dallas Paint Correction?
1.) What and how will you cllean the scummy underhood pad with? 2.) Do you recommend keeping the engine running while you clean the motor?
Is the battery "sealed" ??? Mine has a simple plastic cover over it. That is not sealed. So good luck with that. And the relays and fuses box has also some simple plastic cover over it, it just pops into place, no sealing. I guess they never thought that water will reach the engine. How little they knew ...
I blast my engine and customers all the time. Never had an issue.
That Benz bonnet needs some fresh paint 😂😂
It's called patina. you don't know nuffin 'bout antiques.

awesome video and tutorial buddy.b well
This was great Darren. Thank you!
Why not remove plastic engine covers and clean them outside the engine bay - with easiest access and no liquid introduced to potentially sensitive parts? They are intended to be removed ...
I have the same question, please answer the Markus’s
Thumbs up 👍
Watch “Chrisfix” channel on engine detailing. NEVER use a power washer on the engine. 30yr engineer at Ford here. UGH!!
that's rich.....chrisfix.....one of the endless pseudo-experts on YT talking about detailing.
I never listen to engineers, know a lot of nothing. From a business owners perspective, engineers are the worst customers and biggest know it all’s .
