I've just realized a simple fact...That from now on I can no longer watch any of Lieke's *magnificent* videos without a box of Kleenex within easy reach...I'm simply so very, very moved by Nature & this kind of a Mother's tenderness to her baby, that I cry with true heartfelt emotion...Those "stinging" kind of tears that burn while rolling down your face & onto your neck, & you can feel a lump in the back of your throat... To me, watching such priceless & intimate moments like this footage, of Minggu & Tjintah, makes me feel like I'm looking through the eye of humanity...It's downright humbling...
Wow I feel so honored by your comment! I hope you still enjoy the videos although it brings you to tears. I feel such a privilege to be able to see these wonderful creatures. Although I ofcourse also would want them to have a wonderful life in the wild, I'm sure they have the best place over here. Where they are safe and able to live a happy life with food and no danger. I personally think, we humans compare our own emotions and facial expressions on animals. I think you find her sad because of her facial expressions? But orangutans en gorilla's do not have the same facial expressions as humans ;). So maybe you think she looks sad but she does not behave sad. She eats, takes good care of her kid (even plays with her), all are signs she is doing just fine. But we can't ask her how she feels so we never really will know ;). Though we are able to tell something about how they're doing just by observing their behavior ;). But I think in this case, you do not have to worry about mom ;).
