  • The WSL’s elite contingent closed their accounts on Australian soil with Isabella Nichols and Jordan Lawler etching their names into Northern Sydney surfing history with massive wins. A women’s Gold Coast rematch between Erin Brooks and Isabella Nichols gave way to a powerful performance from Nichols to claim back-to-back wins in Narrabeen. Plus, local icon Lawler put on a dominant display throughout Finals Day that culminated into another GWM Sydney Surf Pro win over Alejo Muniz, but with heavier implications as he now sits firmly in the Championship Tour qualification chase. Now, bags will be packed and Challenger Series competitive hats hung up until reigniting the hunt for CT qualification at the Ballito Pro beginning July 1 through 8.
The Challenger Series’ second stop is Narrabeen, one of Sydney’s premier breaks and one of the proudest surf communities on the continent. Renowned for producing long, reeling lefts as well as notable Championship Tour competitors, the wave will test relegated CT surfers and up-and-coming talents alike as they battle to make the tour. Watch the GWM Sydney Surf Pro presented by Bonsoy live May 9-16 on worldsurfleague.com.

Wondering why like on the show Ninja warrior, men an women don’t compete against each other, again on Ninja warrior they all compete on exact same course, so why can’t we just have surf comps not split genders, everyone would be competing for same prize $$$ This should be case in say soccer as well and list goes on!

@@MakinAnykin He ripped! Definitely deserved the win. Anything is better than one of the cringey SC kids claiming every wave and pounding their chest for a mid 5.
