I don't recommend the usage of plumber's tape as these tape worn residue might get its way inside the engine or even the transmission (if used on AT drain bolt). Will suggest to get a new nut washer instead.

Why u want to use thicker oil? If u have been taking care of the engine better stick to 5W-30
