How to clean grimey net curtains using soda crystals

Putting grimey net curtains into the washing machine will not get rid of the black stains that build up especially if the curtains are on a street facing window.
You need to add bicarbonate of soda crystals to remove it.
Please use gloves when working it in with your hands, as soda crystals is very alkaline.

Mate I have just started my net and first dunk was yellow! It's soaking now and I can't remember when or if it has ever been washed! Thanks for the tip
