Hey man, fantastic video. Haven't been able to find useful content relating to fall fishing in this area. But you answered a lot of my questions and concerns just with your commentary,. I'll be doing a similar trip this weekend in that exact area. Again, awesome video!
Hopefully you find your fly box there. 🙏🏻 I found some gear in Virginia and I am trying to find the owner. Loosing anything sucks but especially when it is for fishing 😬😔🙄
If you need to buy some flies I would recommend Fly Deal Flies or Risen Fly (located in my hometown of Beaver, PA). I do tie my own flies, but not so much in recent years so I do occasionally buy flies. Buying by the dozen is cheaper than buying single flies. Fly tying is not really that hard. I took a class at a local fly shop about 25 years ago. It was inexpensive and met once a week for like 4-6 weeks. With practice I got to be a pretty decent fly tier. i would do most of my fly tying over the winter months. Back then the internet was still fairly new so getting flies was a lot harder. If you did not have access to a local fly shop you basically had mail order through catalogs which was not great.
Although my dog is only 1/2 Black Lab (the other 1/2 German Shepard), and only 2 years old at this point, I appreciate the finite time we have with our dogs. That's awesome you had him (or her) for 10 years of great fishing companionship. We have to appreciate the time we have (whether with loved ones or furry footed friends). Thanks for the comment, cheers.
Agreed. The white oaks and eastern hemlock produced 20inch brookies on big pine. Not to mention the cougars, wolves, buffalo (legit), Canadian lynx, elk (although they are back artificially), and so much more.
Love your videos. I'm a pro and losing boxes, nets and boga grips. Suggest hanging a water proofed sign on nearest tree 'lost box gray' w your info. I recovered box and net this way. Grew up PA trout boy. Live on John's island SC now. Invite to come have me pole you for tailing reds for a return trip fish PA again. Best. Gregg
Wow that sucks, you should start tying flys, video it.. it's content people watch fly tying videos.. catching fish on flys you tie yourself is very satisfying...
Sorry for the late response, if the offer still stands here's my email - youkissyourmotherwiththattrout@gmail.com. I'll give them a try and shout them out in a video. Appreciate it, thanks man!
