Getting ready for bed and see an exciting new hunting video from Matt. Thorndale is truly a masterpiece and treasure. Off to bed with hopes of safari dreams. Jess
@@leighmyles6991 . Thank you for your kind offer and I agree with you about Matt. As both shooter/hunter and tour guide, his adventures are always entertaining and informative. As for Thorndale, I believe it and other well managed conservation/hunting preserves are vital to the future of African wildlife. Jess
Love it great work Matt I've learnt so much from your vids especially when it comes to ballistics ect, u truly know how to put a video together and I admire your work u put in, I'm from the uk and agree with you about everything u shoot you should eat, a true huntsman never wastes his game and what a beautiful country u live in stunning
I am not a hunter. I've never hunted before . I am a huge Gun and shooting enthusiast and thoroughly enjoy long range shooting. That's kind of what brought me to your Channel. But after watching this series for some time now it's actually getting me excited to go out and hunt.
Just go do it! It's very rewarding, and it's a great feeling to be able to eat something you harvested yourself. Plus, find some great recipes for whatever animal you've shot. I'm making deer jerky right now, from a doe I took last week. And it tastes better than any jerky I've ever bought in a store. I also had friends over for the Hockey game on Saturday, (ya I'm Canadian, lol). And I BBQed up some Elk steaks for everyone, and damn it's great. I just started 6 years ago, and I can't wit every year to head out during the season. It's a passion, and you also get to see so much wildlife, and see how they really act in nature. It's a really great lifestyle.
I came across your video when i was working. I am working as a video policy enforcement for a certain video streaming website (ehem, this one) and I was tasked to action your video. got stuck to them ever since. Such an amazing adventure for a desk job grunt like me. Thank you for such great content
I hope you realize just how fortunate you are to beable to experience all South Africa has to offer. Many people think of the negative things that have happened in the past in SA and Rhodesia. You truly are living in God's land.
Hey Matt, a fellow South African here. I really enjoy your content and would love to hunt as often as you do. Was able to shoot my first Springbok this year at 130m here in the Northern Cape.
Hi!! Matt, You are lucky to have all the beautiful guns in the world, my favorite gun in your collection will be FX impact, looking forward to get one but too expensive here.
That opuntia with those bloody reverse barbs are declared weeds here. I felt his pain having been bitten many times. The devils rope is worse though, i think I've seen them around in your vids too.
Matt, have you considered getting a Sig Kilo 2400abs or a Gunwerks G7, would save you a lot of time vs the Kestrel getting range and ballistic data in one instrument. Great Vid.
Hi Mat, another great vid. I have been trying to decide which 25 cal air rifle to buy between the Fx Impact and the Daystate Redwolf. After watching your video “FX Crown-full review” you say “you’ll never know the full potential of your gun unless you have the ability to fine tune it”. I agree, it’s the same as loading your own bullets for a powder weapon and finding the best load to suit your gun and I very nearly went for the Impact until the bench rest competition 2018 and then the Redwolf took first, second and third place! Why has a gun, all be it a very high quality gun, with no fine tuning adjustments whatsoever swept the board against guns like the Impact?
Interesting to see the PH carrying what looks to be a Browning Hi-Power. Since he still had it on in the lodge, I assume it's for protection and not dispatching game. Do you know what type pistol it was and can you confirm its purpose? Great vid and absolutely stunning location! Thanks!
Not sure what side arm it is, but it is definitely for protection. The fact of the matter is Farming in South Africa is the most dangerous profession in the world.
Hey Matt is that the original barrel on your .260. I was wondering because i imagine it has quite a few rounds through it and I thought the 6.5 cal barrels had short lives. I’ve got a 6.5 creed and was told 2000-3000 rounds is about all you can hope for.
the issue with .264 is the 264 Win Mag. It can push 120 gr bullets at about 3500 fps - that will burn out a barrel in a hurry. Standard .264 cartridges like 260 Rem, 6.5 CM, and 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser (especially pushing "heavy" bullets of 140-160 gr) have standard barrel life of about 10K rounds, give or take a bit. Matt and I have chatted in the past, I think he's getting pretty close to 2900 with the ELD-X bullets he's shooting out of his 260 Rem. No idea how much editing goes on between shots, but it appears he doesn't ever heat his barrel up very much.
Charl Bekker, ikr? I guess some "selected" people could have access to videos as soon as they're uploaded, before they are published to public viewers. Or smth like that.
The range finder companies should make a Bluetooth scope and range finder(connected ... where you can find the range and other stuff in the finder, the scope automatically adopts and make the crosshair ready!
Matt I enjoy your videos but must call you out on this one. Irrespective of the size of the property it is a golden rule not to shoot at the skyline as to can not be certain of what lies beyond. You should not have taken the shot at the impala. Your shot at the springbok was in the direction of a road and you can clearly see a white vehicle approaching from the left at your shot.
There is a 3 meter game fence around the whole farm and nobody else on the property, so nobody within probably about 10-15km of my shooting position. The road behind the springbuck was probably 5-7km away. The lens compression makes it look way closer than what it actually is.
Welcome to South Africa. Knock, knock, knock... Hi, I'm from the government. You know all that stuff you own? Well, you don't own is as of... right now. Pack your bags; there's the street. Have a nice day.

Give it a go!
Just make sure its a challenging hunt that will reward you with nature good meat and a stiff body, for the most reward/pleasure.
I also never like hunting but I like shooting but I have no Gun sir.

Wow that meal! 😋👍🏼👍🏼
Great videos! What silencer are you using?
Waiting for more video like that, please do more games hunting like that.
I initially thought you were going to hunt with a FN FAL(R1) and an AKMS from the title, but this works just as well!
Those shooting sticks are cool, what brand are they?
Reece made them out of garden supplies!
Nice shot mat
Matt u ever thought about dangerous game???? say buffalo ??? maybe not a big bore guy??? love the lodge I could spend a life there.

Amazing vid bought myself an air rifle recently !!!
What about the vehicle going down the road behind the springbuck you shot?
You are an amazing marksman

Can we please get a shooting montage with heavymetal music 💯

Love your vidios
Genial👍👍👍
Wow good video
Wow I am hungry now!!!
Hi Matt what do you think?
AA s510 or FX Streamline .22
It's weird seeing hunting in other countries, I've only ever hunted in Oregon (In the US).
Hey Matt is that the original barrel on your .260. I was wondering because i imagine it has quite a few rounds through it and I thought the 6.5 cal barrels had short lives. I’ve got a 6.5 creed and was told 2000-3000 rounds is about all you can hope for.
Yes still the original barrel. Still have less than 1000 rounds through it.
the issue with .264 is the 264 Win Mag. It can push 120 gr bullets at about 3500 fps - that will burn out a barrel in a hurry. Do you ever mount any of these as trophies Matt? I'd be interested in seeing a "trophy room" tour.
Not usually, but I do have one or two from special hunts to remind me of the experience.
How the hell do you comment on a video 2 days before it is released?
Mohammad Abdul Ghafoor ya wtf
2 days ago??? Wtf
Sig Sauer makes that very setup.
Some of the animals might pose a danger to hunters? Did I see Water Buffalo in one of the shots? Can you carry a sidearm? Just curious.
It’s a Cape Buffalo. They are dangerous, but we stay away from them.
Goooooooooooooodddd
Not that these are not great but I am itching for more air gun episodes
ติดตามตลอดเลยคับ....
I noticed the PH was carrying a handgun. What is the status of owning and carrying a handgun in SA?
Pretty easy. We can carry anywhere. Just need to apply for a license for self defence.
@7:55 the comment about safety and shooting over the horizon is true, but then you see two cars driving by @15:32 in the background, not cool bru
Funny you're still advertising Berger on your cheek riser and shooting ELD-X.
the picture off you when u were 11yrs old you look like Anton from Witmoskloof farnm
Caliper Rifle name???
Does your rifle damage alot of meat when you shoot on the shoulder
Not with these bullets. They hold together pretty well. A Berger VLD for example would drop the animal on the spot but ruin the meat.
Still running the Eld-x bullets Matt?
Your FX impact is 4,5 or 5,5 ?
His main impact is 5.5. I think he might have more than one though
thanks men
buen video
Nice
